Sources: Rahm Emanuel Spoke with Blagojevich about Senate Seat on Multiple Occassions
Posted on December 12, 2008
Update: Heh…Rham-a-drama beet red!
Obama’s confindence that no one on his team discussed his senate seat with scumbucket Blagojevich may soon be shattered. This Chicago Fox Affiliate has an exclusive that Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s chief of staff, spoke with Governor Rod Blagojevich on “multiple occasions” about the Senate succession of Obama’s open seat. He is likely to be on FBI wiretaps:
None of this means Obama or Emanuel are guilty of participating in Blago’s crimes, but it certainly shows them being less than honest. This entire scandal has damaged Obama’s halo before he has even got to sit on the throne. I wonder how this affects Obama’s certainty! No wonder Rahm is ducking questions!
That doesn’t mean he was engaged in any wrong doing. But not even POTUS and already one hand doesn’t know what the other is doing? How many times might we be hearing that over the next four years?
I think it’s safe to say that the “shiny” on the incoming Obama administration has been tarnished as a result of this scandal. Whether or not they did anything legally wrong, it’s never good to have your first term start off with a scandal … especially when you haven’t even officially taken office yet, and especially when you were someone who campaigned against government corruption (even though you were propped up by some of the same Illinois corruptocrats either under investigation by the feds and/or who are already convicted as a result of the investigations).
We are not even a week into the Blag Scandal and we have seen the Blag scandal run like wildfire right to the top aid of President Elect Barack Obama. The enigma behind this story is the lack of statement from Team Obama about what transpired in the dealings with Blagojevich and his efforts to extort kick backs.
As I noted before, and everyone now realizes, it is the November 10th marathon telecon between Team Blag and Team Obama that is the lynchpin to the entire scandal. Also of import is what transpired before and after (note that the criminal charges actually came out over four weeks after this conference call). There are lots of theories reasonable theories out there, some which look good for Obama and others which look bad.

Speaking to the Governor about the Senate seat is something which is not unusual. When a vacancy occurs, I am sure many meetings are held to discuss the way forward. That makes perfect sense. That is different from requiring payment for consideration.
Nobody – except the right side – is suggesting anything untoward going on in the Obama camp. Seems to be a huge case of sour grapes.
President-elect Obama said yesterday that he is confident no one on his team participated in any pay for play negotiations. He never said no one from his team spoke with Blago. That is why he said his team is gathering all communications with Blago and will present those to the public. You are true morons if you think that there will be no communications between and outgoing senator and the governor! I’m from Arizona, and if and when McCain steps down, I hope whoever is governor will ask McCain for advice and suggestions on who his successor will be. That would be wise an the right thing to do, and it would totally be in the best interest of our state. So stop acting like talking with Blago was a crime or wrong per se!!!
Ironically, the biggest problem, if this pans out, is that Obama looked America in the eye yesterday and flat out lied to the American public when he said he is “absolutely certain” his campaign had no contact with Blagojevic regarding the Senate seat. I mean, flat out LIED.
It’s not just a “right” issue. Obama is just another pol who failed to learn the lesson that the cover-up is almost always worse than the crime – the crime in this case being that the Obama campaign knew there was a crime in progress regarding the Senate seat he was still holding, and did not report it to the FBI.
I think it’s amusing that the left just refuses to see any wrong doing here. I agree, OF COURSE someone from the Obama team was in touch regarding the filling of his senate seat. Why would he lie about it? Cause he sure did, at least from the footage I’ve seen. OF COURSE they caught his rep on tape having this discussion. Why didn’t his rep tell someone bribes were being solicited? At the very least, team Obama has disappointed me. I realize that rethinking Obama’s halo may be frightening, but wouldn’t that be in your best interest? What does this guy have to do to make you realize you’ve been had?
The Fox News video above has been pulled. I wonder why?
Why are people blaming Obama, trying to implicate him, and dirty his hands up when another man took illegal actions. You republicans are going to have to sit back an take a long eight year ride which is just getting going. Relax, it it will be okay.

Poor little Rahmbo. Not too good for the Obamassiah either.

absurd thought –
God of the Universe says
coddle poor politicians
always let them get their way
they should not be role models
