People nowadays compromise anything just to do what they think is right. Greed is a revolting act that could get you into a lot of trouble down the line – I’m sure Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich would agree. Blagojevich was arrested early Tuesday, December 9th, on federal corruption charges related in part to the selection of President-elect Barack Obama's successor to the Senate. Shockingly, this is the second time in a row that an Illinois governor has been arrested on federal charges. Illinois' 39th governor, George Ryan, was also charged for political corruption and has served little more than a year of his 6 1/2-year sentence. Much like Ryan, Blagojevich saw an opportunity to use his power to leverage benefits for himself by attempting to sell the senate seat. This only means that he didn’t learn from the mistake of George Ryan. According to the news, Blagojevich was hoping to get a significantly higher salary, a position on the board for his wife, a cabinet post and more in his senate replacement bargain. His greed caught up with him. He wanted a better financial status, but the result is a big trouble to him and to his family. The FBI has filed a seventy-six-page indictment against both Blagojevich and Harris. Apparently his devious deed was caught on tape through a court ordered wiretap last month. The governor is declaring his innocence, professing that everything he said, both in public and in private, has always been lawful. I hope for Race sake that Obama is not involved. That being said where there’s smoke, there’s fire. And we all have to admit Obama has been smoking through this entire process.

Once again it all comes back to character and associations, there are just too many issues of “I wasn’t aware” or “they are just a friend that I know” at some point it becomes a question of just what kind of a man has the country put in the White House. Either he is a horse wearing blinders who can only see the road ahead (the road to the White House) or he is just an ambitious Donkey seeking self glorification no matter what.

I can understand former investigator’s argument, plus I think Fitzgerald probably did not want to take the risk that his blowing the whistle on Gov. Union-thugovich would be blasted by Obam Hussein’s most aggressive campaign workers (i.e., the press) as politically motivated. Fitzgerald was probably right to go forward with the prosecution after the election. I will say, however, that he should remain open to possible indictments of Obam Hussein’s officials and even Obam Hussein himself should there be sufficient evidence of his involvement in the scandal.

This is hilarious. “I know for a fact” followed by “my guess is” followed by, essentially, “the only POSSIBLE reason for the occurrence of this thing I’m dreaming up is a high-level conspiracy to help Obama.” Reading this crap from you people is going to make for an entertaining 8 years.

Not to throw a wet blanket on this, but her sources could be right in having enough to indict and there could still be no motive to protect Obama in holding off (not to say there was not). I have worked numerous cases where we had enough to INDICT the defendant and waited months as we gathered additional information to ensure the CONVICTION. In the Federal System, a defendant is entitled to a speedy trial – this can be in as little as 60 days from indictment. If the prosecutor and or investigator believes that the defendant will use this option, it is better to hold off on an indictment until you have enough to convict – otherwise you can get an indictment and lose the trial. Imagine how bad that would be in any public corruption case and what squawks of outrage would sound from those who thought the indictment was a dirty trick to torpedo Obama’s chances. If the case needed the time, it needed the time. Having said that, it does not mean someone did not hold off to protect Obama, but it does mean that holding off an indictment is, in and of itself, evidence of trying to help Obama.
