Umm, Suicide Bunnies?
After more than an hour of debate, the Central Linn School Board found itself split on a motion to remove the divisive “Book of Bunny Suicides” from library shelves.
With a 3-3 vote, the board decided to take up the issue again in January, when all seven members will be present.
The book is a collection of cartoons featuring rabbits that commit suicide in various ways, and has been a topic of debate for months.
A parent complained about the book in October after her 13-year-old son brought it home. She threatened to burn the book, drawing national attention to the story.
I remember when we read books like The Hobbit, Catcher in The Rye, 1984, On The Beach, you know, classics. Now kids are reading about bunnies biting the big one.
Seriously, suicidal bunnies? What the hell are these liberal wackos trying to teach? No, really? I would love a liberal/progressive to explain why the hell something like this is on a grade school syllabus.

The only possible accomplishment to be had from a book about suicide distributed to kids is to make them more open to the idea of offing themselves. Sometimes it is past bizarre to see the American education establishment at work.
Don’t you know that they are Muslim Bunnies and this is a handbook on how to kill all the Jews in your area. How dare they remove it from the school!
What’s really shocking is that you are taking an AP writer at his word. They tend to make up crap, you know.

Do you know what the truth is? Or are you going to poison the well and move on?
I personally found this book funny, but I wouldn’t use it in an elementary school class.
Bingo, damien.
