In a sign that Iran is taking military measures to ward off the threat of an attack on its nuclear facilities, the country has tripled the number of long-range rockets in its arsenal, Channel 10 reported on Monday.
According to the report, Iran possessed 30 Shihab-3 missiles at the beginning of 2008. Currently, the country claims to have over 100 over long-range missiles capable of hitting Israel.
Perhaps Iran should consider what military assets Israel has before it starts yapping it’s gums.

I have a great idea and this may strike some of you as odd at first but hear me out.I think the U.S should adopt a policy of isolationism for a period of about ten years.We should export NOTHING.No soldiers on foriegn soil and no more foriegn aid.Let us rebuild our country from the inside before we worry about the rest of the world.This accomplishes a few things.#1 all the middle east countries that are used to using the excuse of the “american invaders” will have nothing to complain about.#2 we use all the soldiers who are currently overseas as border/harbor security to keep OUR nation safe.#3 within a year all the countries who depend on the US for the food grown by AMERICAN farmers would be a lot more willing to police their own “neighborhoods” per se if thats what it took to get the food coming back into their country.#4 WHEN (not if-when)the muslims who hate the US get a large enough force built up in the middle east from the lack of any US led presence in the area and start imposing their will on any who oppose them then maybe the rest of the world would see these hate mongers as the modern day Nazi threat that they actually are.#5 Once these groups reach a certain size and notoriety it will be significantly easier for the US to justify the nuclear strikes it will take to eradicate this worldwide threat once and for all.

I just got back to the U.S. a few weeks ago from deployment overseas. (I’m not saying whether it was Iraq or Afghanistan.)

The US is often feared because the World depends on the US. We see a little stress in the US economy and the World falls into recession. That truly proves the World revolves around the US.
Furthermore, countries that base their currency off of oil (All Middle Eastern Countries) will fail when the oil dries up. The US tried the Gold Standard to the Silver Standard and currently it’s based on the economic growth of the Country. This is something that will never run out, unlike OIL.

I’ve seen footage of an eight year old boy getting his arm ran over because he got caught stealing at the market. This was a form of punishment carried out by the Iranian government. This is a child that has only simple ideas in his head. He sees some food and takes it. Then his arm is being run over by a truck. In the “West” the mother or father would simply slap the hand of the child and return the fruit. Who is really civilized? Can someone at least give me an answer? Let me know if this is the correct punishment for the crime.

Yeah, I might have the occasional bad dream or guilt feelings. Guilt not for killing but sometimes for surviving. And I certainly don’t do it for the pay. But, I cowboy up! Meaning; I overcome my shortcomings and strive to be a better man. Regardless of my job.
I volunteer for two reasons.
1.) I love the greatest country on Earth. I relish in the fact that I am blessed to be a citizen of it. And I choose at this time to help protect it. God bless the U.S.A.
2.) 9/11 pissed me off. Islamic extremists targeted an innocent city and civilians. Killing not just Americans but peoples from all over the world. A price must be paid for that. And,…..I do love the work.

It’s a real disappointment to see people insulting eachother. Both are wrong.
A person should never take pleasure in killing another person for whatever reason it might be. Killing is wrong but to take pleasure in killing is worst.
America is about Freedom and Peace not war. I disagree with being isolationist. It’s not going to solve the problem that we will have to face sooner or later. We are all human. I believe our countries should do what is best for the world so we are all at peace. Remove all the things that cause a war like Nuclear energy and weapons. The middle east needs to do more passive tactics on removing terrorists/extremists in their countries. Provide more education and raise the economy that their is a larger middle class and less proverty. Programs need to be setup so both the west and east can understand eachother better.
I believe the majority of people on both sides want peace. We just have misunderstandings. When I was in the middle east the locals would just ask “Why this or Why that? about America” It’s my observation they don’t know what were doing in the middle east. We need to communicate more with eachother rather than through movies and music.

We need capacity-building strategies, not the opposite (like destroying a nation’s deep-seated values & faiths), to bring nations closer together for peaceful resolutions. We also need to do one step further. As individuals, we can all play a part in getting to know more of other people’s culture, beliefs and values. That way we can be more tolerant of the differences between us, and offer our individual assistance where/when appropriate. For a start, we can setup direct communication channels where we can interact closely, both physically and intellectually. Eventually, we can grow into having real physical activities/contacts between two very different peoples/cultures.
I have an idea if you are game, wpatrickm. Everyone else can also do this.
Let us both try to bring our two communities together (in the neighbourhood blocks where we both live) through a blogsite. Call it the “Cross-Culture Community Development Program” Blog, “Twin-Neighbourhood” Blog, or any other suitable name to reflect this non-profit intention. We’ll both try to garner our own community’s support for this program. We can then have strong, civilised, constructive, intellectual exchanges between us two little communities. Members of the blog are on an “invitation only” basis – open to all residence of our two neighbourhood blocks. When its proved successful, it’ll hopefully grow from mere blogsite intellectual exchanges into more physical cross-culture activities.
The goal is to get to know each other’s culture, values and belief systems on a real person-to-person basis, so that we can share what we’ve learnt together with others in our own country, and eliminate as much the misconceptions, fear and misunderstandings between us. Who knows, someday there might even be some opportunities for little trade exchanges. Hopefully, other people will catch on to this idea, and they’ll grow from twin-neighbourhood concept into twin-towns, twin-cities, etc.
Let’s use technology to build capacity for working together, not destroying each other.
