Oprah Whines that Sarah Hasn’t Come on Oprah Show

-By Warner Todd Huston

Oprah cries: “She talked to Greta. She talked to Matt. She talked to Larry. But she didn’t talk to me…”

Apparently, Oprah is whining that Sarah Palin won’t come on her show now that the election is over. But, who can blame Governor Palin for snubbing Oprah after the nasty things Oprah reportedly said about her before the election?

In an interview with TV tabloid schlocker Extra, Oprah acted all shocked that Palin has yet to agree to an “O” interview.

“I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over… I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta [Van Susteren]. She talked to Matt [Lauer]. She talked to Larry [King]. But she didn’t talk to me. But maybe she’ll talk to me now that she has a [multi-million dollar] book deal.”

It might be remembered that back in September, Drudge reported that Oprah had been heard to say that she would never interview Sarah Palin. Not long after the Drudge flash, Oprah issued a press release where she denied the reports of the mean things she said about Palin. Oprah made some vague claim that she had “decided” not to open her show for political candidates despite the fact that she was an open participant in Barack Obama’s campaign and had the now president elect and his wife on her show several times during the campaigns.

So, now Oprah is wide eyed with shock that Palin has snubbed her thus far?

Talk about clueless! Vacuity reigns supreme in Chicago, I guess.

Sarah Palin does Not need Oprah! Oprah can go fly a flippin’ kite as far as I’m concerned.

  2. Denise McKinney on December 5th, 2008 2:58 pm

    Amen to that Angela!

  3. Rebekah K on December 5th, 2008 3:48 pm

So, as the best reply to Mlle. O, when will Sarah appear on “Ellen”?

  4. newregime on December 5th, 2008 4:17 pm

oh, yeah…now that sarah palin won’t grace her show…oprah’s billion dollar empire will be in shambles…now she’ll have to start hunting moose from helicopter and ruining campaigns to make a living…poor oprah…maybe one day she can do philanthropic works like sarah plain…

  5. barry on December 5th, 2008 4:20 pm

i think sarah would make a great president don’t you?

  6. barry on December 5th, 2008 4:22 pm

and if you believe she will make a great President then your dumber then you sound! Oprah needs sarah like a dog needs fleas!! your being duped and its a shame you dont know it.

  7. barry on December 5th, 2008 5:05 pm

actually i sent both messages. and yes your right i was being sarcastic.

  8. Kesha on December 5th, 2008 6:03 pm

Oprah DID NOT have President Elect Obama on her show during the campaign. She had President Elect Obama on her show promoting his book(like hundreds of other book authors)just before he announced.Since he announced his candadicy President Elect Obama has not been on Oprah show.So before we just throw out stuff “GET THE FACTS”.Show me where obama appeared on Oprah during the campaign with dates please!!!

  9. Zmama on December 5th, 2008 6:13 pm

Good, one less show to see Palin on. She should disappear and take care of Alaska.

  10. seanpboyd on December 5th, 2008 6:19 pm

Perhaps Alaska doesn’t want her back.

  11. Jonas on December 5th, 2008 6:32 pm

One crosses the Lord Goddess Oprah at their own risk. Be warned, Sarah, else Oprah drops a house on you!

  12. Doug on December 5th, 2008 6:34 pm

Sarah’s being smart. Why would she want to subject herself to more abuse from Oprah? She has all the media exposure she wants.

  13. madvtr on December 5th, 2008 6:38 pm

If I was Sarah Palin I would tell Oprah to take a hike. Off the nearest high rise.Who cares what the big O wants or needs. Maybe she can become queen of Africa. She could buy the country.

  14. Gloria on December 5th, 2008 6:42 pm

Ms Palin please never appear on Oprah. Tell her to take a hike! She used her show for political purposes!!

  15. LJ on December 5th, 2008 6:51 pm

Yes, Ms. Palin…please don’t appear on Oprah. It would ruin Oprah for me.

  16. I. Ama on December 5th, 2008 6:51 pm

madvr: AFRICA IS A CONTINENT NOT A COUNTRY

Gloria: Oprah used her name and herself for political purposes this election cycle, NOT HER SHOW. She hasn’t hosted politicians since Gore and Bush

  17. Ayaya on December 5th, 2008 6:54 pm

I agree with Sarah. Better for her not to show-up on Ophrah before she get pretty in her brain as her face. I would rather recommend her go and meet the president of (the country called) Africa.

  18. antiobama on December 5th, 2008 6:58 pm

Oprah is a true hypocrite. Maybe her attitude is typical of the upcoming Obama administration. Oprah is now a lot poorer after moving millions of her money over to the Obama campaign. Palin is doing just fine without Oprah.

  19. Jan Sinnc on December 5th, 2008 7:00 pm

Oprah does not deserve to have Governor Palin on her show. If Queen O wanted to leave the door open for interviews she should have kept her political opinions to herself. Oprah lost me as a fan once she made her racially motivated political position so clear. This family proudly voted for the real American hero. Go Palin 2012.

  20. antiobama on December 5th, 2008 7:02 pm

BTW, you think Palin will ever appear on ABC or CBS after the treatment she got from Charley and Kate?

  21. pro-obama on December 5th, 2008 7:03 pm

I’m no fan of Oprah’s, but I’ll agree that the less we see of Palin from now on the better I’ll like it. Anybody who thinks that numb-from-the-neck-up ninny would make a good president must be eating lead paint flakes for breakfast.

  22. antiobama on December 5th, 2008 7:03 pm

    Ok
    Screw Oprah

  23. antiobama on December 5th, 2008 7:04 pm

Proobama…. Palin has a higher IQ than your darling boy Obama. Check it out.

  24. Ayaya on December 5th, 2008 7:08 pm

anti-obama, are you alive? how on earth to compare IQ of obama with sarah? I see haterd is eating you-up, see your doctor.

  25. Carl on December 5th, 2008 7:08 pm

Poor Oprah, a pain the A__! Especially flying with her on the plane !! When she doesn’t get, “HER WAY” WA WA WA and also AMEN TO Angela (Domestic Divapalooza) !!

  26. anti-pro on December 5th, 2008 7:11 pm

What treatment she got from Charley and Kate? It wasn’t their fault she couldn’t answer any questions the average Joe could. lol! And the only needy that Palin helps is her own family and cronies.

  27. beernuts on December 5th, 2008 7:14 pm

    Hey, antiobama –
If it’s true that Palin has the higher IQ, it’s quit a shame that she has so thoroughly squandered her potential. She certainly comes off like an overachiever who has reached her level of incompetence just being a soccer mom!

  28. theresa on December 5th, 2008 7:18 pm

first of all oprah does need to interview ms.palin i can see”russia from my porch”. For all you haters out there the right one won for president. Palin was a joke! How did she ever become govenor i have no idea i guess the standards in alaska are none.

  29. Coleen on December 5th, 2008 7:18 pm

An American has to prove they are American by being on Oprah. Awwwww c’mon folks. The Governor has a state and a special needs child to care for. With grace under fire she has held her head high and now deserves to pick and choose whom she really believes is friendly. The Governor is a smart woman. She recognizes a woman with a weapon that when used constitutes “friendly fire.” Right on Sarah!

  30. Brittany R. on December 5th, 2008 7:20 pm

Oprah removed any credibility she had when she publicly supported Obama on her show. She had always kept her show out of the political realm. Now she is just one of the many political commentaters out there. I no longer watch her show because of it. And according to the polls, I’m not the only one.

  31. Betty on December 5th, 2008 7:23 pm

Oprah needs to keep the high quality of her show up, and to me putting gov Palin on would only weaken the show.

  32. Maria on December 5th, 2008 7:23 pm

Oprah should be ashamed of herself. Again making it look like Sarah is the bad person here. If I were Sarah I’d tell her when “XXLL” freezes over. Oprah is such a hypocrit.

  33. doctor stroke on December 5th, 2008 7:25 pm

Don’t anybody worry about Sarah, she will come a hoppin whenever that phoney book gets published for some help to sell it. Ophra needs to focus on Caroline Kennedy Shlossberg for senator of New York. We are getting some real people who care, CAN DO, AND WILL DO the right thing for this country.

  34. Coleen on December 5th, 2008 7:27 pm

Theresa, Theresa, Theresa … Sarah Palin was not EVER nominated for President of the United States. Stupid is as stupid does – or types. May God bless VICE-President Joe Biden. God bless the senior Senator from Arizona and his wisdom, too. Far more gracious than anything I’ve heard from the far-out left. You got four more years (Nancy and Harry have been on their thrones for two now), best hope you can fix it because the American people voted for just that. The Recession started in December 2007 – a full year after Nancy and Harry took power. Right on Sarah – You just keep governoring Alaska and raising Trigg!

  35. leighann on December 5th, 2008 7:34 pm

OPRAH JUST BOUGHT OBAMA FOR PRES. IF IT WASNT FOR HER MONEY HE WOULD NOT BE THERE WHAT A SHAME HE COULD NOT GET IT ON HIS OWN

  36. Joana on December 5th, 2008 7:49 pm

me thinks “power” has gone to Big O’s head. Pride goeth before a fall, remember? Maybe it’s time. And, I might add, the subject matter on her show has definetly begun to scrape the sewer level. She claimes high morals…she can talk the talk but doesn’t walk the walk. Don’t pity Sarah. Check back in a few years.

  37. yoopervan73 on December 5th, 2008 7:58 pm

maybe it is time for the O show to go away. Poor , poor O she can’t get her way, Palin does not owe her anything. O is just a sanctimious beeetch

  38. Murray on December 5th, 2008 8:02 pm

Good Lord Lewis!!!! You could be the poster child for the KKK. I love Oprah to death, but can’t blame Sarah one bit for snubbing her now.

  39. Me the other white chick on December 5th, 2008 8:08 pm

DAM Lewis …..are you racist?? Who cares if Sarah is on Oprah. Who cares if Oprah’s nose is not of place over this!! WHO CARES!!

  40. Socal on December 5th, 2008 8:10 pm

Oprah didn’t want Palin before the election, she can pound sand and wail at the moon before Palin agrees to appear now! You reap what you sow Oprah! And it’s been long in coming.

  41. bertha doucet on December 5th, 2008 8:13 pm

I do not understand why some people are so cruel to sara palin and her family,to talk about her baby is awful, people do not realize that God want us to love one another, like he love us.God bless sara palin and her family!!!!!

  42. Russell on December 5th, 2008 8:22 pm

It doesn’t matter if Palin appears on her show or not. It is time for Oprah to go. My wife and I stopped watching her when she decided to support Obama. Oprah’s ego has gotten in the way of her common sense. If anyone doesn’t believe she has the biggest ego on television, all you have to do is look at the cover of her magazine. She is the only person who has ever appeared on the cover and most likely the only person who ever will. I believe that the only reason she supported Obama is for no other reason than that he is black. As for Palin, she has the good sense to stay away from idiots like Oprah.

  43. diana on December 5th, 2008 8:23 pm

    to a real Chicagoan,
yep you’re a real Chicagoan, corrupt mouth,
heartless soul, totally a thug. Oprah is
a great humanitarian…she would even cringe
if she read your comment!!! Sarah is a great mother who cares more than you’ll ever
know about our great country. You’re the one
    that doesn’t have a clue…get a life!!!!!

  44. Socal on December 5th, 2008 8:29 pm

Obama is my/our President and I respect and support him, even though I disagree with him and his various “socialist” views.

Nevertheless, he IS President and has my loyalty and respect.

I’m also proud to say that my generation was part of those sage enough to not let race truly come into the issue and finally see TRUE equality in this nation.

Only time will tell what the abilities of Pres.Obama are.

I hope and sincerely pray for him and his administration, that we as a nation will begin to climb from the hole that we are currently in.

……oh…and I’m a 52 yr old biker from So Cal that lives in Ga now….if anyone was curious.

No matter your party affiliation or anything else, may God Bless y’all and may God Bless America.

  45. Oliver Grill on December 5th, 2008 8:30 pm

The only reason McCain chose Palin was because Clinton was not running. Rove thought it would work to get the women who wanted Clinton, to vote for her. It didn’t work. I hope that the Rove political
machine is finished? The GOP is morally a
bankrupt party with nothing to run on. Look back on who they’ve had running this country,
    Nixon, Reagan(sorry, Nancy)Bush senior and
numb nuts “W” and side kick Chaney. Both should be tried for crimes against humanity.
Sarah, hopefully will stay in Alaska and shoot Moose with her moose gun from airplanes. Please stay there Sarah, with DUD
    husband.

  46. Stephen on December 5th, 2008 8:31 pm

lol @ Peanut….You right she does need to buy a husband i’ll give you that one!!

  47. Tony on December 5th, 2008 8:32 pm

to antiobama, we see where your IQ score is!

  48. James on December 5th, 2008 8:35 pm

In all my 66 years I have never heard anyone as stupid as Sara Palin running for any office. Oprah doesn’t need her on the show, in fact it would be smart not to let her on the show. Let Sara sit on some Alaskian island and watch Russia! If you put all the knowledge Sara has on the head of a pin, you would still have enough room left over to play the super bowl!

  49. Stephen on December 5th, 2008 8:36 pm

SOcal….That’s what i’m talking about we are all Americans…I served this country as so many of us have and it was for our right to exist as a nation…our right to speak our minds which we’re doing here, and yes even our right to be stupid….

One lesson we should learn from all of this right wing/centrist/left wing…ALL should be feeling blessed that we are in such a country that we have heated but peaceable elections and irregardless of the outcomes of elections…SUPPORT our President hey you can always vote again in four years!!!

Peace n luv 2 you all out!!

  50. Sean on December 5th, 2008 8:39 pm

Both Obama and Sarah are smart. Obama is smart in his sly way. Meanwhile, Sarah is smart in her honest way… Don’t blame Obama for his slyness. He has to be like that to advance his future. He gets it not. Congratulation! It seems he is starting learn to be gracious now (hopefully)

  51. TJ on December 5th, 2008 9:08 pm

Thanks Stephen – you hit the head on the nail. People loved Oprah her show was filled with 99.9% audience but when she decide to support an African-American candidate – true racism comes out. Did people forgot that Oprah was really Black? I am sorry – Oprah is still Black and supported an African-American candidate – who do you think she voted for in previous years??? Hello…..did you all forget that white people put Obama in office and African-Americans helped – look at the statistics -this is no time for racism people – the whole economy is looking bad. Sarah Palin is “cute” but come on people…..I was embarrassed being a woman when I saw her interviews…..and she is not even blonde. Let’s get pass this folks.

  52. TJ on December 5th, 2008 9:09 pm

    I meant 99.9 % white audience

  53. Indemrep on December 5th, 2008 9:12 pm

Whoever wrote this report is crazy. Oprah can’t decend so low to Sarah Palin’s level. Whether she goes to Oprah’s show or not, Oprah is made and do not need an iota of Palin’s foolishness. Obama whom she smeared is now her president and she can’t do anything about it. I would even love the republican to foolishly nominate her for 2012.

  54. rick on December 5th, 2008 9:12 pm

Anyone who thinks Sarah Palin would be a good president needs there head examined…we have just had eight years of a clueless president and our country is in dire straits…people we need to get our act together…else our leaders will be foreign speaking someday.

  55. Stephen on December 5th, 2008 9:17 pm

TJ..I hear you…It’s so obvious that it’s funny…the one time that i ACCIDENTALLY caught a part of an Oprah show i didn’t see any black like me people in that audience!!!

Couldn’t do any wrong…Something about a leopard not being able to change its’ spots and given time a persons true character comes to light and oh yes…Vote for the ‘wrong’ candidate and people will crucify you!!!

I could go on but we all know the real deal behind this sudden dislike of Oprah…

lol i never liked her because i felt she was giving away ‘player trade’ secrets!!!!

Seriously, got to love America and the melting pot that it is…

And for all of those that think that racism is dead based on this election…well we’ve seen a sampling of how alive it really is from some of the postings here today haven’t we??

    Alive and covered in silk!!!

  56. pc on December 5th, 2008 9:27 pm

If a person really wanted to vote for change, why would they have voted for anyone BUT Palin? Think about it folks…Obama is nothing more than a slick, prototypical politician – and very good at what he does. How else could someone with not enough experience to manage a McDonalds be elected president. This is to say nothing of the FACT that he, along with Biden and McCain all are coming from the illustrious US Senate…which is and has been a BIG part of the problem in the first place. CHANGE with Obama and Biden??? I think not…just more of the same as evidenced by the the cabinet members he has named thus far. Sorry to those of you who feel differently, but Sarah Palin was the ONLY candidate of the 4 that could really have brought change to Washington. And in 4 years, look out to all you left wingers…she will be a viable force the Dems will have to deal with…along with Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina. By then, we will have seen the real agenda B. Hussain Obama brought to the table – and America will be ready for yet another “change”. JMHO…

  57. Millie on December 5th, 2008 9:37 pm

The last time I looked we were all living in “America” and were guaranteed freedom of speech and the right to our own personal liberties, that is the reason we all live in our great country. We just seen a landmark election and I for one felt proud to vote in this election. Who are we to sit back and judge anyone.. who are you to sit back and judge and criticize oprah or anyone else?? She has worked for each dime she has in her pocket and it is her right to spend as she pleases, as we all do. We should stop and search our own souls before trying to verbally assault the characters of others.

  58. Walter on December 5th, 2008 9:38 pm

Good for Palin! Oprah show? What a waste of air space!

  59. Michelle on December 5th, 2008 9:55 pm

hmm looks like palin is missing an opportunity. millions of people watch oprah, and maybe her non-political being could show through a little bit.

  60. Michelle on December 5th, 2008 9:56 pm

I meant “a little bit better”

  61. Lydi Owen on December 5th, 2008 10:10 pm

to happyindependent- you call Sarah Palin’s baby RETARTED. Retarded is spelled retarded, not retarted. Better watch those stones you’re throwing- looks like you can’t spell, but that doesn’t make you retarded. Palin’s baby has Downs Syndrome, but that does not make him retarded. Behind his disguise is a soul far greater than you can imagine- one big enough to forgive you for your unintentional insults.

  62. Cathy on December 5th, 2008 10:15 pm

Why would Oprah want to interview Palin anyway? It would be like interviewing a rock. How useless would that be??

  63. Todd on December 5th, 2008 10:34 pm

Oprah is a joke. I can’t believe that we become a society that listens to her. She has done many great things over the years, and brought awareness to this country over many issues. Why would she want Palin on the show anyhow? Oprah is now phony like the rest of people who have too much power. It’s odd that us minorities complained of white priveldge and yet, Oprah now fits in that category. She now represents what us ghetto people are suppose to aspire to…and she has become one of them. Yet, we are too naive to see that she creates propaganda as the white majority has done in the past, but uses it the same as they did…to further her agenda on life. Oprah is a joke because she brings on President-elect O (I voted for him) to promote him, and then turned around and gave Palin the same treatment minorities have given us in the past. And now, trying to claim innocence, or fairness? I have come to the conclusion that it doesn’t matter what race you are if you are in power. Blacks want what’s best for other blacks, mexicans want what’s best for mexicans, and so on…but they do it all in the name of tolerance and fairness. That to me, is what Oprah has become!

  64. Valentina on December 5th, 2008 10:39 pm

Todd, you are wrong! Oprah opened eyes across the country for equality for women, minorities, gays, everyone. Women across the country salute her life for opening doors in a man’s world. She is a champion for the underdog, and I for one am grateful she is still an example. She is honest, and Governor Palin should be honored to be invited to her show.

  65. Donna on December 5th, 2008 10:41 pm

I am not a fan of Oprah, never has been. But, I’m not a fan of Sarah Palin either. To call her honest is an honest lie.

I think she is right not to speak with anyone who trashed her during the campaign. I just wished more folk trashed her so I wouldn’t see her face everytime I turned on the television. She didn’t win, and I don’t think she is going to win in 4,8,12 or 16 years.

  66. Ida on December 5th, 2008 10:41 pm

For the poster who stated Palin’s IQ is higher than Obama,s, I’d have to see proof of that before I believe it. Is that poster aware that Obama graduated from Harvard with the highest cum laude available. What did Palin graduare with other than a degree.

As far as Palin appearing on the Oprah show, I really hope she doesn’t because I am sick of seeing and hearing her. When the public needed and wanted to see and hear her she wasn’t available. Now the election is over so she should just return to Alaska and continue her life as she watches Russia from whereever she said she could see it from.

  67. Michael on December 5th, 2008 10:42 pm

Well, Oprah must have shut her eyes for the first woman vice-presidential candidate in history because if she was truly a champion for the minority, I saw her choose race over gender. Oprah is no different than the rest. I agree with Todd.

  68. Beverly Cooper-Wiele on December 5th, 2008 10:48 pm

First of all, I ask my mother to be forgiving, because she gave me the mother of all mother speeches…”If you don’t have anything nice to say….” That having been said, Oprah’s show is clearly not a waste of air space as advertisers pay plenty to have their names associated with her. Further, there is no bigger waste of space than that between Sarah Palin’s ears. There is no greater contributor to Global Warming than the hot air of Palin’s fake folksy persona. Finally, there was no more cynical contributor to the political forum than John McCain, who cynically believed that a woman–any woman, would hold the key to his winning the disaffected Hilary vote. Either cynical or stupid, both of which, of course are undesirable. Whether or not you agree or disagree with Oprah, she has used her fame and considerable fortune to make a real difference in the lives of truly unprivileged people. Would we be that unstinting were we in her place?

  69. John on December 5th, 2008 10:49 pm

Oprah is so played out. We put her on a pedastal for what? I don’t know what I think about Palin either, but c’mon Oprah. You are not a victim in this. What a joke! You knew what you were doing when you first did not want her on your show. You are becoming like Michael Jackson in that people will finally see your arrogance if you continue to believe your hype. Under all that money, you are still an overweight, unattractive, articulate, intelligent woman believing too much of what people say about you. You are just human who has been blessed with money and influence.

  70. Lydi Owen on December 5th, 2008 10:56 pm

It doesn’t matter who is President of this country. What matters is that whoever is President adheres to the Constitution as originally set up by the founding fathers of the U.S. and sees to it that all members of Congress and the Senate and the Supreme Court do the same. The President can be a purple Martian, male or female, as long as the government is ruled by the people and for the people. Let’s see if Obama means to do this, and if he doesn’t, then have your say. P.S. I admire Sarah Palin for allowing her son to be born. A child with “challenges” is truly a great soul who has chosen to grace their family with his presence.

  71. Todd on December 5th, 2008 11:00 pm

Well, another example of justification for hypocrisy. Let me clarify what you mean by “if you can’t say anything nice, then don’t say…” What you mean is, “if you can’t say anything nice about Oprah, then don’t say…” It’s what I am talking about. If you practiced what you preach then your comment about Sarah Palin wouldn’t be considered ‘nice’. I was an Oprah fan in the old days, but no anymore. We are fooled because we see someone that looks like us in position of power and are blinded by our support to keep them with that status because they championed our cause…which puts them in a place where they are practically worshipped. Responses to this posting will reveal how much she is above all criticism…as if she was a god it is sacrilegious to criticize her. She bleeds as we do. Get over worshipping her.

  72. Sonny Crocket on December 5th, 2008 11:06 pm

I wonder if Oprah needs a true model to interview for Weight Loss Therapy Live on the Air Sessions. If that’s the case, It’s quite evident that she’s been turned down. And why would Palin want to talk to her for? She has a new battle with her own base to worry about now (women) that the election is over. She already admitted that she would’ve been dripping in the hospital (ICU) had the election turned against her. Now, She sounds as if she still maintains a strong hold of women who supported her from the beginning. Oprah has her own base to worry about now. What could she possibly be desperate for from Palin besides her looks? Well, It is a good reason.

  73. Sonny Crocket on December 5th, 2008 11:13 pm

Hey! I’m surprised Oprah wasn’t picked for Obama’s CIA Director. He is lack of one and just imagine what the Wigg can do for Foreign Policy. lol

  74. Sven on December 5th, 2008 11:18 pm

A little suggestion for Oprah. Ashake for breakfast, a shake for lunch and a sensible dinner.

Half a million jobs gone- so says the news tonight. The news also says that Obama is trying to figure out what to do with a $30 million dollar surplus from his campaign. Why doesn’t he give it to the 500,000 workers who just lost their jobs? This country has a lot more to worry about than whether Oprah and Sarah Palin get along or not. Wake up Americans- a government of the people, for the people, and by the people is what we need. If all we have on our minds is talk shows on television, no wonder the politicians have become charlatans.

  76. Max on December 5th, 2008 11:23 pm

Why dont all the you supporters of Sarah Palin move to the America that she said so many times that the President Elect and I are not a part of. I’m not a big fan of Oprah but the all powerful talk show host would only be doing Sarah Palin a favor by having Palin on her show. Go back to your state Sarah, read a book or a magazine, Try to figure out that Africa is a continent not a country. Find out how socialist your state really is. Then go on Oprah and see that we are one badass country regardless of how ignorant, and intolerant we choose to be.

  77. Beverly Cooper-Wiele on December 5th, 2008 11:23 pm

Well, thinking about what my mom said, you may dislike Oprah for her beliefs, though you seem to consider her intellect superior. What do looks or weight have to do with her thoughts or work? Are only the thin and beautiful worthy of our regard? You have, perhaps unwittingly, revealed an unfortunate slant to your beliefs. We should not console ourselves nor belittle others because of physical factors over which we have little control. Weight? Perhaps a weakness of Oprah’s. Ugly? What do others think of the way we look? Beauty is as beauty does.

  79. jx2 on December 5th, 2008 11:25 pm

i think palin is right……forget oprah. oprah obviously wanted the public to forget, if not give palin the opportunity to prove who she is. where would oprah be if someone hadn’t allowed her the same opportunity????

  80. sharon on December 5th, 2008 11:29 pm

I use to watch oprah until saw the inview for obama and then changed. we do not aloud her show on in our house any more. you can see now that she is a racist and alway has been. she sure help obama with all her money win the election. plus a lot of outside countries. I not think palin should be on her show now let the baby oprah cry now. i hope she goes broke this year.
the only thing that will help us out now is praying for our country. we sure need it now that obama is in.

  81. John S on December 5th, 2008 11:30 pm

You can dispute Sarah Palin political views, but can you people think you can thrash talk her daughters and infant. These people have no shame, are coward and garbage is coming out from your mouth. The electoral voters pick Obama as President, the American people is close to split. If not for the Bush Failure, and obama $700+ million campaign fund, Sarah Palin will be the first Woman VP. So is Oprah champion of Woman causes? Or just for the black only.

  82. possebon on December 5th, 2008 11:35 pm

American People should put America first, who cares about africa, Just because oprah built a nice school in south Africa, doesn’t mean we need to put Africa on top of must know list. Those liar can only continue to insult Sarah Palin, because they got nothing concrete to talk about.

  86. Jelen on December 5th, 2008 11:48 pm

Todd is right. I’m a white woman and I agree with his analysis of the Oprah phenonmenon. I have only seen her show a few times but I sure am tired of hearing about her. She is too idolized. And Sarah Palin? Heaven help us if voters with lower than average intelligence support her. She should be ignored by the public so she loses media attention and never runs for public office again.

  87. reallylatebloomer on December 5th, 2008 11:54 pm

It seems by reading some of these that people who dislike Obama do not like Oprah, since she was public about supporting him. Hmmmm. I do like Oprah. I enjoy her show, most of the time, and she seems to be pretty smart, and conducts herself well. Palin, well, not so much. I would like to not have to see Sarah Palin any more, truthfully. Her fifteen minutes are up.

  88. tom e on December 5th, 2008 11:57 pm

You people just don’t get it. You want to hear the truth? Then cancell your magazine and newspaper subscriptions. As for the big O I watched her show once and haven’t watched it since. If you want gossip and hear say-it is a sin. Read the Holy Bible and put down the Enquirer. 90% of you people that voted for Obama don’t even know what the man stands for and you don’t know anything about him. He is a well tuned politician that got your vote and he is going to do absolutely nothing for you exept take you for a ride like all the other democrats do and are still doing.
Palin is a true American and she shot straight from the hip and looked you in the eyes. She didn’t ah,aah,ah,ugh,ah, for 5 minutes out of a 6 minute speech, like Obama and Biden. If you all that voted for Obama want to pay higher taxes oh I,m sorry 95% of you don’t pay taxes. Any way I think it would be fair that all people that voted Democrat for Obama should pay higher taxes and all the people that voted Republican should pay lower taxes since we already pay too fricken much already. I think that would be the American way. Since the conservatives/ republicans give to charities which help you lazy saps to live. And the Liberal/Democrats that care so much for you and your well being don’t give to charities and only want to spread around OPees money not their own. And they want to destroy the U.S. and the job market but you just don’t get it.
Look around and read up on which states are broke and bankrupt? The states that are ran by Democrats. Which states are doing ok? The states that are ran by Republicans.
If you want to prosper in America you better love her for one and two stand behind a true conservative– Sarah Palin is the only true American in Politics and so is Connie Mack of Florida. There are a couple more but you have been promised change for 40 years and the Democrats have been in power for 38 of them. So stop blaming the republicans and Bush, look in your own back yard it has been the DEMOCRATS that have ran the country into the ground along with the Unions. Get you facts straight before you go off kilter on everyone when you only have yourself to depend on(not the government) only yourself to blame. Take on some honor and pride and accept responsibility for your life. I LOVE AMERICA and always have and will. May GOD Bless and keep on Blessing America

  89. Sarah Greenaway on December 6th, 2008 12:03 am

Yes, I too would like the Republicans to be bold enough to nominate “Payless” in 2012 and watch her become so much mincemeat. I also hope that by then she will have learnt the English language and avoid her terrible jargon. Doggone it, Youbetcha, I’mgonna, Yup and so on and so on.

Sarah Palin is a very smart woman; I don’t blame her for not appearing on the Oprah show! I lost all respect for Oprah when she chose to publically support Obama. She should have kept her political opinions to herself and not endorsed a black man, especially since so many women, black, caucasian and others admired her. She sold her soul to the devil. She deserves to lose some of her supporters. I no longer will watch her shows or buy her magazine.

I am not a Palin fan, as a matter of fact, i think she is a real flake and dont know what McCain was thinking when he picked her. On the other hand, if the big O was any smarter her self, she would never have said publicley who she was backing, she lost alot of fans doing that, me for one. But I have to say, this is one time Sarah Palin is being smart. Why would she bother giving the big O one second of her time. When she did every thing she could to get Obama elected. Sorry for all my misspelled words lol…

  95. Jane on December 6th, 2008 12:12 am

Now that Oprah is wealthy and famous, she doesn’t care if her true colors come out in endorsing Obama. What a poor feeling it must be to know you got elected because of your color. Oprah and other stars should stay out of politics and not try to push their desires and influence on others. I will not watch Oprah any longer. She could have voted her conscience, but she should have kept her mouth shut.

  96. John S on December 6th, 2008 12:18 am

Sara Palin supports talk issues, Oprah fans and not fans talk thrash.

  97. Brenda on December 6th, 2008 12:20 am

All of us have our opinion of Oprah and Sarah, but if you just stand back and take a
look at both you can see the real truths about both. I really liked Sarah Palin because she was and is down to earth. She is
just like the rest of us women who have families and jobs. I think she would make an awesome president, because she really understands what we all go through in our daily lives and I really think she would have went to bat for our country and trying to improve it in everyway. Now as far as
Oprah goes, I used to love her show and it gave me a good feeling to watch it, because she really seemed to care about people. Why sometimes I would just sit and watch her show and cry, because it touched me so. But I haven’t watched her show in a long time, because Oprah changed she changed the way she talked to people and she changed her religion. I read one of the posters said that there were more white people in her audience that black people, and this is true, but the main reason the people were in her audience was because they wanted the stuff she gave away. Heck, even I wanted to be one of the ones she gave all her favorite things too. So if you could ask all the women that have been (men too) in her audience, why? they were there.
They would tell you for the presents. I wasn’t ever lucky enough to receive anything
from her so after she changed her views on
some things that I didn’t agree with I lost interest. I think Oprah has really lost touch with who she used to be and has traded it for who she is now. I also want to say something about Obama. I also have an opinion about him. I think he is a smooth talker, but I don’t think he even has a clue
as to how to fix our country and the economy This is mainly do to the things I’m hearing on the news and the things I hear him say.
But like everyone else (I hope) I will support him and pray for him and hope for
    the best.
I think everyone should just quit putting Sarah down and let her get back to her life.
And for Oprah lots of prayers.

  98. Tante Waileka on December 6th, 2008 12:24 am

Oprah is gonna burn in hell when she dies, she has turned her back on God. Oprah may be rich but she is far from smart. Actually Obama and Oprah are at the same IQ level, I’d say about 110-115. Average. Sarah Palin, on the other hand, has an IQ of 150. Those of you who think Sarah is a country bumpkin, well, SARAH can not only bring home the bacon, fry it up, she can hunt it down, skill and eviscerate it first. She’s a survivor, like all Alaskans.

As for Obama, why don’t you ask those of us who have worked on high-risk, overseas/offshore projects what we think of that know nothing, cowardly opportunist-puppet… why don’t you ask us WHY the world is ‘loving’ him. You think it is because Obama is perceived as a ‘good guy’? Are you that stupid?? He is perceived as a weakling, who doesn’t understand what it takes to run the greatest country in the world, the ONLY superpower. He is seen as the guy who will hesitate when he should shoot, who will allow terrorists to overrun this country and bring the USA to its knees… so the third-world jackals can slash its throat.

You don’t like Palin… now. But in a year or two, you’ll be whimpering, mewling crybabies. But I won’t be crying, I’ll be high in the mountains with the other survivalists. Stupid stupid people! You don’t grok that there were/ARE WMDs in Iraq, Iran… that Israel and Syria have the largest stockpiles of chem weapons the world (the chem weapons I and others were destroying back in the 80s on the JACADS project in the South Pacific). That anthrax is a joke. If you had any idea of the REAL chemical weapons that exist, that Korea can now make atomic weapons, and on and on and on…. you would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS have elected a guy based on his [half] COLOR. Foolish people. You deserve what the new year will bring and I’d pity you, but you don’t deserve it. You elected a MUSLIM. God forgive you!

  99. Enid Johnson on December 6th, 2008 12:31 am

-I am shocked at all the attacks on both Oprah and Sarah Palin. The blatant racism which is displayed is also horrifying: the most shocking, however,is the fact that most of this is coming from those who have the least command of the English language!! Both women are very accomplished..Ms. Palin has done more than most women her age and with as many children.Leave them alone. Why should I chose to vote for a woman because of her sex? America voted for Mr. Obama, let us accept that and work for the unity of this country.

  100. Lydi Owen on December 6th, 2008 12:31 am

What makes you think, Jane, that Obama got elected because of his color? Aren’t you giving Oprah a little too much credit for him winning just because she supports him? A lot of whites voted for Obama too. What’s so bad about Oprah being able to express her true colors, as you say? I think that we need to give her viewers a little more credit for being able to think and decide for themselves who they wished to vote for. In America, so far we all have the right to open our mouths and speak our truth. Keeping your mouth shut was a Nazi, Cummunist, and Fascist doctrine. We sure don’t want America becoming like that. Even the wealthy and famous have a right to speak out!

Oprah did not have Barack Obama on her show during the campaign. After the huge media coverage of Oprah , Maria Shriver, Caroline Kennedy and Obama in California, Oprah kept her distance from the campaign. Because she saw she was a distraction.

And check her donations-she gave what she legally could.

As for Sarah Palin coming on the show, let her get her own talk show and continue on her way to the over-exposure that will finally send her away from my TV and computer and newspaper. Why anyone would want to see her, much less interview her boggles the mind.

  103. Yanick on December 6th, 2008 12:45 am

She can go to the Oprah show or not for all i care. I don´t think Oprah said some nasty things about her, atleast she didn´t say she¨ palled around with terrorists¨.I think that´s enough nasty talk, which ofcourse came from the mouth of Palin.

  104. Lydi Owen on December 6th, 2008 12:52 am

And now- about speaking the truth- Sarah Palin was my choice as VP- especially because she was down to earth. This earth, the whole of it, is in a major imbalance because the males have run it (no matter what their color) for centuries. This has created a major imbalance between the yin/yang (male/female) forces. on the entire planet. Allowing the female’s intuition and softness to balance the man’s logic and desire to control and dominate is going to happen in the very near future, despite man’s attempt to resist this balancing act that God will require of us. Sarah would have been a great leader (behind every great man there is a woman) of this country, but those who really control America behind the scenes knew that she wouldn’t be a puppet and that is why she lost. It’s only a matter of God’s time before this warring planet will finally have true peace and those who don’t resonate with that higher vibration will simply not stay around.

  105. judy on December 6th, 2008 1:09 am

some people have a gift and were made for politics. It’s clear that Sarah Palin was not. All the mean hateful things she said about President Obama have backfired on her. She really does not have a chance for anything further. Thank God for the end of an election and allow her to bow out gracefully. The other interest and blessings the Lord has bestowed upon her are sufficient to busy for a number of years. Advice: Be happy with what the Lord has for you.

Before the nomination of Sarah, the people in Alaska were used to seeing her speak without a ton of editing. She is a well spoken, smart woman. Watching the national media interviews, it was clear that they were heavily edited. Alaskans are smart, hard working people. It has been hard to watch our governor get torn a new one, but she understands the game. Was she ready for the national spotlight? Perhaps not. We do not live in that kind of world up here. When our governors come to town, you can go up and talk to them just as you would anyone else. There are no security detail or bodyguards. They stand before you and look you in the eye when they answer your questions or hear you out on matters important to you. So, we are not a bunch of fools who voted for some looney. We voted for a woman we got to know personally. Can many people in the lower 48 say they have no trouble speaking to their elected officials face to face? Regarding Oprah; It was hard enough watching the media say ridiculous things about Alaska. I can only imagine how bad it would be on her show. Let me clarify some things. Alaska is not located off the coast of California, nor are we an island(as many national weather maps show). You can see Russia from Alaska, especially from Diomede Island. Many people believe the Alaska Native people may have originally migrated across an ice bridge in the Bering Strait from Asia. P.S. What is a “moosegun”?

In reading all of the negative posts about Oprah and President-elect Barack Obama, which are racist, hateful and down right mean, it’s another sad day in America. People are losing their jobs, food is high, homes are going in foreclosure, crime is up, you name it. It appears from those who wish Oprah lose the money she worked hard for hate that she is wealthly and they are not. It appears that those who say Obama doesn’t have a clue just hate the fact that an intelligent African-American man is President of the United States. Don’t hate people because they have something you lack. Strive to do better in your own lives and hopefully you won’t be hateful of others. God bless you.

Interesting trash talk. I noticed from pro-Obama writers overwhelming “talk” about racism against Obama & Oprah.

However, what ‘I’ mostly saw as I read – were peoples thoughts on Oprah & Sarah Palin.

Interestingly, the person that was most attacked with outragious verbage was Sarah Palin.

I’m very glad I’m not such a snob that I have to trash someone because they don’t talk exactly like me. Leave her alone. Obama won. You got what you want so move on.

I’m a Democrat who did not vote for Obama because I did not like his views. Ex – the military should stay in Iraq & fight terrorism there. We will be fighting them here very soon if the troops are brought home. Read your history – we will be shown as weak and they will attack here again.

That is only one of many views I disagreed with the Democratic candidate. Nothing racist – just different views in judgement & policies.

So Obama is now President elect. God please guide him & show him wisdom. Also, God please give those that continue to blast Sarah Palin something else to do.

    Dear madinaz on December 6th, 2008 1:59 am ,

What rock did you crawl out from under? Your e-mail is just the hate laced verbage that I was refering too. Get real, All people need help sometime in their life. I applaud you for helping others in need or just because you must be a “great guy”! I am sure that the auto workers who have been laid off for no reason of their own are not lazy of have to be told to get off their “lazy” a–es, as you put it. It is and was not their lack of production that saw their jobs go by the wayside. Again, you expressed it….take care of yourself.

obama and his family don’t even come close to President Kennedy’s family. How can anyone compare them ( Camlot ) PLEASE! look at his wife and look at Jackie, who was Ravishing the most beautiful women in the world and her children well what can I say. As for Sara she should never give in to opera, she doesn’t need her, she should appear on Ellen’s show if any. To bad opera has to buy every one and everything, we know how obama got there and who will be invited to the inauguration Her Money thats how. NEED I SAY MORE JUST LOOK AT THE RACE BEHIND THIS.

No offense, but you people are truly, truly blind. Angela is wrong. Oprah did not INTERVIEW Obama, she supported him…spoke on his behalf. Let’s review what an interview is readers. Normally a host or reporter sits and maintains back and forth dialogue between themselves and their guest, most often recorded at a studio. Did I miss that episode? I guess Angela didn’t since she apparently saw this interview with Barack. Clearly when Angela is referring to Oprah speaking at the rallys she considers this as Oprah’s interview with Barack. I watched ALL of those rallys and not once did a “sit down, back and forth dialogue” transpire. And if she was referring to the interview Oprah and Barack did have, then she is just as truly ignorant and blinded by her for dislike for Oprah and her candidate choice. Readers, that interview happened WAY before he even put his name in to run. Um, Like a year. And then to read some of these comments and how you folks support these non-facts. DO YOUR RESEARCH readers if your gonna have such strong opinions. Simply, Orpah played it neutral. She didn’t interview either candidate, like she was quoted as saying, continuously. And before you say, I’m just an Oprah fan, WRONG…not even, try again. You people just need to stop and ask yourselves what the real issue is, including Angela. Especially Angela! And stop listening to her unsubstantiated evidence and Angela stop writing it. Be a real reporter and do PROPER research. Now go on, spew your hate upon me…just simply blind.

Wat Ms.O need is to give Ms. Palin a break…respect her decision whatever it is…”Golden Rule”, mankind…”Golden Rule”… No one ever owns d world alone…if she whines about this simple matter, well…is this d face of american representation? Give Ms. Palin a break…so she may also have the wisdom to respect & understands Ms. O’s decision on whatever matter it is(of national interest). Being a mother, wife & political figure (& staying cute) is a very tough job…being a businesswoman/host is another…

No, what I meant was “if you can’t say anything nice about anybody,” so I apologized in advance for saying something unkind about Sarah Palin. Unkind, yes, but, unfortunately, true. You choose to misinterpret what I said in order to accuse me of “hypocrisy” to mean “…unkind about Oprah.” My mother’s admonition is not strained. “It falleth as the gentle rain from heaven….

  136. Beverly Cooper-Wiele on December 6th, 2008 5:26 pm

and, don’t be talkin’ about my mama. She raised a well-educated, well-spoken, liberal/ communitarian daughter who actually reads from a varied number of viewpoints and sources (or else why would a card-carrying ACLU member like me be looking at a site like yours?)and knows how to spell. People are allowed to express their opinions; you do not have to like them.

If you want to talk about unfair character-izations, then please stop believing that Sarah Palin is the only victim. I first discovered this site when I linked to “Oprah Whines.” It is unusual and offensive to see any public figure described as “whining,” so I was curious to check out where such demeaning language originated. When I read some of the so-called “discussion” about the topic, I was surprised and disappointed to find more name-calling than debate. Yes, I still feel that Sarah Palin has a vast, empty space between her ears. That has nothing to do either with hating her or liking Oprah. It does have to do with Palin’s patent unreadiness and unsuitability for any national office. However, no one need listen to me. That assertion will be borne out by where Palin is positioned in 2012. If Oprah has, indeed, “whined,” or performed any facsimile thereof, then she has made a mistake. She should know, more than most people, that it would only demean her show to have Sarah Palin appear. What could Oprah gain from her? Palin deserves no national forum on which to pump up her impossible dream to go further in the Republican Party. McCain reached for the last straw in selecting Sarah Palin for VP, and the Party will, rightly, blame him for unleashing a prima donna monstress who will muddy its immediate future.

Last words. My mama is also a well-educated, well-read, Volvo-driving, Eastern liberal. And as for contributing to global warming with my own brand of hot air, Palin’s comments were spoken in public forums where oxygen was in abundance. The CO2 emitting from her mouth did, in fact, contribute to global warming. As you know, I have contributed my comments to the Net. There is no hot air in cyberspace.

Beverly Cooper-Wiele, quit your whining. Oh, and stuff your uninformed, partisan blather. You start by saying how it’s “offensive” to say that Oprah “a public figure” is whining, yet then you go on to name call Sarah Palin in every other sentence. Your “mama” may be “well-educated” but she for sure raised a liar and a hypocrite.

I’m a liar? You don’t agree with me, so I’m a liar? Hypocrite? Ad hominem attacks do not show you as anything but a name-caller. Shame for being so shallow.
