The U.S. Supreme Court will consider Friday whether to take up a lawsuit challenging President-elect Barack Obama’s U.S. citizenship, a continuation of a New Jersey case embraced by some opponents of Obama’s election.
The meeting of justices will coincide with a vigil by the filer’s supporters in Washington on the steps of the nation’s highest court.
The suit originally sought to stay the election, and was filed on behalf of Leo Donofrio against New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells.
Legal experts say the appeal has little chance of succeeding, despite appearing on the court’s schedule. Legal records show it is only the tip of an iceberg of nationwide efforts seeking to derail Obama’s election over accusations that he either wasn’t born a U.S. citizen or that he later renounced his citizenship in Indonesia.
The Obama campaign has maintained that he was born in Hawaii, has an authentic birth certificate, and is a “natural-born” U.S. citizen. Hawaiian officials agree.
There are also many, many other suits out there.
Now, there are some on the right who want the investigation, and some who don’t. Captain Ed wants the whole thing to just stop, and SCOTUS to deny the suit. John Hawkins wants SCOTUS to take the case so it can put an end to the whole thing.
Personally, I am about 95% sure Barry is an American citizen. But, let’s consider something which has been driving this case: why won’t Obama release his birth certificate? He gives us this “certificate of live birth,” which people have shot massive holes into. He originally released it to The Daily Kos. Why? His campaign demanded, along with the Compliant Media and the Left, all of McCain’s medical records, apparently going back to the beginning of time. McCain released over a thousand pages of medical records, and that wasn’t enough. They demanded more.
They demanded proof that Trig was Palin’s baby, not Bristol’s. They freaked over the few short pages of medical records Palin released. Meanwhile, Barry, a long time smoker, releases a page or two. And still no actual birth certificate.
Seriously, you know what could end this? Provide a birth certificate, Barack. It really is that simple. You want to prove us cwazy right wingers wrong? Pony up. Hell, I can walk upstairs and pull mine out of my fireproof safe in about 3 minutes. What’s your excuse, Barry?
The New York Times and other papers, not to mention many on the Left, were, at the least, “just wondering” if McCain was eligible to be President because he was born in Panama. Yet, none of them wonder why Obama won’t simply produce a birth certificate. Is it that hard to do? And that is why this continues.
P.S.: Since so many, particular Democrats, threw around Ronald Reagan’s name during the election season, let’s ask The Gipper himself what he thinks of the issue

Why doubt it? Why would the short form of Obama’s birth certificate be any bit inconsistent with the long form birth certificate? No one has given a legitimate reason to question it, all the nitpicking notwithstanding.
Further, what proof does anyone have that Obama was not born in Hawaii? No one has produced any documentation that Obama was born in any other country but the United States. If he was born in Kenya, then surely someone should be able to procure his birth certificate from the Kenyan records. No one has done so.
In my view, the “certificate of birth” creates a rebuttable presumption that Obama was born in the U.S. and is a U.S. naturalized citizen. No one has any clear and convincing evidence that says otherwise. This whole smear campaign against Obama is entirely meritless.
Regarding the “fact check” link above, I found around a dozen things wrong with it. And, the fact remains that no one has provided definitive proof of where BHO was born.

Most of them are claiming that the state of HI has verified BHO’s cert, when in fact that state only verified that there’s a cert on file.

Thanks, that is indeed the core. But it’s not just his 1961 Hawaii document document which would clear up his citizenship… he’d also need to address the existing school records registering him as a citizen of Indonesia (!), clarify his passport history (particularly Pakistan 1981), and it would be to his benefit to unlock the college records too, to dispell speculation he received aid as a foreign student.
The questions are trivial, and all candidates answer them without reluctance. But Obama has instructed his supporters to shout “It’s on Factcheck you retard!”, while sending lawyers out to each court to hide what every other candidate discloses.
Not just his birth certificate, Obama needs to establish his citizenship. And he then needs to explain why his organization has been so reluctant to do so.
When Barack Obama threw his hat into the ring to run for the office of president of the United States of America (said to be the most powerful office in the world), he undertook the obligation - the burden of proof - that he met the Constitutional requirements of the office.
Yet Obama has repeatedly refused to produce his original birth certificate. WHY?
Our Constitution requires candidates be natural born citizens. The Courts are there to ensure legal conditions are in fact satisfied, if and when challenged.
If this case does not warrant a Court order for production of Obama’s authentic original birth certificate to ensure the integrity of our Constitution and our election processes, why bother any more with birth certificates, our Constitution, law, our Courts, our Country?

If you didn’t, then you’d be able to explain how Hawaii saying his original BC is legit repeatedly until they are blue in the face has no bearing on this theory not already being killed.
So, since the most authoritative source available (Obama has less authority to claim his BC is legit than they do), this has already settled this and you simply can’t accept the result.

When he entered the Illinois state senate, he made out a form that is required, did you use any other name. The answer was no. Lie he was know as Barry Saetoro in school in Indonesia. He had an Indonesian passport, how did he get it, with what document did he show to acquire it. To many questions about him. Are we supposed to give him a pass and ignore the Constitution? What documents did he produce to get a security clearance, if he had one. If not why? Was that a free pass also.

Respectfully, there are now 4 cases under review at the SCOTUS for BO. Donofrio’s case expresses that his ‘Certification of Birth’ is real and genuine. However, it is absolute proof that BO had Dual citizenship at birth (something that BO already admits) and that makes him ineligble for POTUS (see clause Natural Born).
The other famous plantiff, Berg contends that the ‘Certification of Birth’ that has been released does not equate to an original longform birth certificate (best with footprints included). In 1961, in Hawaii, you could get a ‘Certification of Birth’ without being born in State…for example see BO half-sister who has a similar document but was born in Indonesia. The release of the original Certificate of Live birth, signed by a doctor and a witness, with his BO’s footprints, would easily dismiss the remaining ‘unconvinced’.
The documents provided by BO thus far do not confirm birth in Hawaii, and are unacceptable documentation for certain privelges and programs in Hawaii now that require long form Birth Certificate copies. Please note, that BO sister has a similar document, and was not US born. However, they strongly suggest BO was born in Hawaii. Some people are resolute, at least for POTUS, that the ’strongly suggest’ is not good enough and that it should be verified.
At the risk of sounding like an idiot, what exactly is the reason Obama won’t ante up his birth certificate? Avoidance always seems incriminating. If he has a valid certificate and cares about the unity of this country, let him provide a birth certificate to a court of law and let that court validate it. This is for the country and final closure on the matter. Whe one becomes president he puts away his own desires and dignities for the good of the country as a whole.

Actually you are wrong. Hawaii stores birth certificates for children born out of state, and will even issue HAWAIIAN Certificates of Live Birth for foreign citizens if they meet the requirements.

We are making progress. NBC, here in Florida, had a segment on the birth certificate issue. The report was inaccurate (said the BC was verified by Hawaii), but the MSM is finding it necessary to let it be known that “some people are questioning whether Obama is qualified to be president”.
It should be interesting to see if the MSM covers the press conference on Monday.
You Obama supporters that keep saying Kenya would have a BC for Obama. You do know:
1) The Kenyan Government said they are “sealing all records” for Obama. Why would they have records, if he wasn’t born there?
2) Obama’s relative (cousin) is a major player in the government. Obama went there, on and Indonesian passport and campaigned for him.
You Obama supporters should be spending more of your time looking up the fact, and then when you see them consider them instead of totally disregarding them. Why can’t you see the fraud that Obama is. He has even gone back on his campaign promises, and he is NOT even President-elect yet (he is only that title after the Electoral College votes). He will now NOT roll back the Buxh tax cuts. He will not NOT withdraw the toops in Iraq.
Obama is a great teleprompter reader. He looks good and sounds convincing. What I do not like is the truth, and deception, behind him.

We are stupid are we? What we are asking for is a “State Certified” copy of his “Certificate of Live Birth”, NOT a forged copy of a “Certification of Live Birth” (there is a difference). You see, a “Certification of Live Birth” was given to people born outside of the U.S. (this was one use for it).
Additionally, Obama has NOT shown his “real” Certificate of Live Birth to the people that need to see it. What you, and the elected officials, are forgetting is that he (and they) work for us. If your boss asked to see proof that you can work in the U.S. and you refused to show him (or worse yet provide a forgery) would you still be working there?

So… where exactly IS Obama’s Birth Certificate and other vital records? Well, last but definitely not least, let’s also not forget or ignore the fact that he comes from the most politically corrupt city/state in the entire nation: Chicago, Illinois. Man, I hope all you Obama-Biden supporters knew what you were doing when you chose to overlook nearly every single fact and vote for them anyway! There is a simple explanation. Hawaii does not issue the certificate any more. To be sure there are some people who have certificates of live birth, which they have kept from the time that they were issued at birth. But the Department of Health of Hawaii now issues only the Certification of Live Birth, which is a summary of the certificate in the files. How do I know? I asked them. You can check, by asking your own questions by e-mail at vr-info@doh.hawaii.gov.
But not to worry, the Certification of Live Birth is a perfectly legal document, accepted by the US State Department for issuing passports, and it says on it that Obama was born in Hawaii, and the officials in Hawaii looked into the files and found a birth certificate (No, it was not a Kenyan birth certificate. They do not store foreign birth certificates in Hawaii government birth files) that shows he was born in Hawaii.

A fairly impressive internet industry has sprung up claiming that Obama was born in either Kenya or Indonesia. This is nonsense, which distracts from the broadly unexplored story of Obama’s upbringing. This kind of nonsense has emerged because the McCain campaign chose not to raise the many questions about Barack Obama’s numerous hard-left alliances. Barack Obama was born in Hawai`i, August 4, 1961 at Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu.
Obama’s birth certificate posted online is exactly the same birth certificate everybody in Hawai`i gets from the State Department of Health. It is not forged. There is nothing unusual about the design or the texture. In addition to the birth certificate, the August 13, 1961 Honolulu Advertiser also carries an announcement of Obama’s birth. The Honolulu Star-Bulletin also carries the same announcement. Both papers require submission of a copy of the birth certificate to print a birth announcement.
