I saw this on the O’Reily Factor. It did not bother me overmuch but I did notice that it is an Atheist statement of faith and not a holiday decoration like a manger scene or menorah would be. Being Atheist they might want to have a earth sun relationship symbol. Of course that would not be as controversial as a statement of faith.:-)

How is a manger depicting the nativity not a Christian statement of faith?

What would an “earth sun relationship symbol” have to do with a lack of belief in deities?

    Havok,

I thought what I said was self evident. I happen to follow the Christian faith and like many believe Christmas is a convenient pagan holiday that the Catholic Church decided to make their own. It is irrelevant, as I still celebrate it but not for religious reasons.

As for the manger scene It is a scene depicting giving. It is much like the liberty statue who is a goddess or the lady justice who another goddess who represent both liberty and justice respectively.

A earth sun relationship symbol would be a scientific representation of the winter solstice. Atheist have done a similar thing with Arlington Cemetery and Atheist soldiers interred there.

As it is they allow other religious to also make statements of faith as to do otherwise would indicate religious bias.
