MSNBC Anchor Shocked Obama Election Did Not End Terrorism

File this one under “Deluded Expectations.”

ALEX WITT: You know, John, and it’s interesting because there are many who had such an optimistic and hopeful opinion of things, and you certainly can’t expect things to change [snaps fingers] on a dime overnight, but there are many who suggested that with the outgoing Bush administration and the incoming Obama administration there would be something of a lull in terrorism attacks. There had been such a global outpouring of affection, respect, hope, with the new administration coming in, that precisely these kinds of attacks, it was thought — at least hoped — would be dampered down. But in this case it looks like Barack Obama is getting a preview of things to come.

Heh!

Witt sounds genuinely mystified, though. Can’t Bin Laden feel the Change?

Bloodthirsty Liberal:

Einstein was supposed to have defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Liberals, the media—a huge swath of people in this country—are demonstrably insane, and they sure ain’t no Einsteins.

This is a very good example of the completely delusional worldview fostered by the media-industrial complex and its allied charlatans in the academic world.
One local media-conformist suggests in all seriousness that “we should bomb them with FOOD” as a way to end terrorism. Another whines that “the poor Palestinians just need a place to live.”

They really believe that terrorism is our fault, or, more accurately, they feel a compelling need to claim that they have such a belief. It is their default position and they will cling to it regardless of facts or events.

Facts and events don’t matter to the media-conformist left. Their worldview is a fantasy ideology, it is not driven by facts or by what the believer may or may not perceive as objective reality (assuming that they have such perceptions at all). It is driven by the ideological script, the compelling need to conform to the fantasy ideology as a statement of identity and affiliation.

It is important to understand that this worldview is an artifact of media culture, and not a product of genuine political ideology. Many conservatives like to say that the “MSM” are the propaganda arm of the Democratic party. I contend that it is really the other way round: the Democratic Party is the political arm of the media-industrial complex. The political left has not hijacked the media, the media culture has hijacked the political left.

Wow. Someone in the media is commenting on how people may have thought prior to the election, and that they had possibly unreasonable expectations.

    Boy, she sure is stupid.

    No, wait. The other thing.

It is very interesting how “critical” people are being of Obama before he EVEN TAKES OFFICE. I was under the impression, backed by the Right Wing Noise Machine, that criticizing the President was akin to treason and aided the terrorists. Seems like You People on the Right are doing more damage to this country than the expectations of the Left.

Hey Corby Canard, obambi “has” taken office,
remember he created one just for his l’il ole self..Office of the President Elect. Also it looks like he will pull out of Iraq in March, albiet March 2011, he just let your ..hope.. fill in the date yourself as a delusional 2009. Now I get to say this, he’s not ..my.. president. Dang that felt good, now I see why the libs were saying that for 8 years. But I assure you..if..
I were delusional too, I would have voted for him.
