Warner Todd Huston, author of this [edited]. Would you join me in Iraq or Afghanistan with a rifle in hand? Would you stand with me in Colombia, Venezuela, or Bolivia? Will you fight next to me in some African country? Would you jump from an aircraft with me from 800 feet AGL onto a hot DZ? Do you know what the three colors in our American flag represent? Do you know how to raise our flag to half staff to honor our dead? Have you ever stood guard over the American flag for half a day without rest? Warner Todd Huston, patriots come as conservatives and liberals and I don’t think you are a patriot of any measure.

Isn’t it amazing that, although Barack Obama has not yet assumed office and, therefore, the Bush regime and its policies, etc., are still in effect, but they’re proud NOW, TODAY, not even waiting until Inauguration Day to feel that way? Do they even realize that in endorsing their “patriotism” NOW, rather than the day their chosen leader assumes the mantle of responsibility, they are essentially putting their “stamp of approval” on George Bush, the very man they have castigated for the past 8 years?

My guess would be, probably not.

And I can’t help but wonder how proud they will be once they realize that basically every plank in his campaign platform, those used to fling him into the office, has been either ripped off the porch and tossed on the fire or unobtrusively replaced in the night whilst they slept, considering the nebulous nature of “change” and the mealy-mouth rhetoric of “hope” preached along the campaign trail – when his Congress shoots itself in the foot (and it’s constituency in the head) and NONE of his promises are realized.
