(Video) Wal-Mart Worker Trampled to Death

We were out shopping today and my father called my cell phone to tell me about this news. This is insane! Prayers for this worker’s family. So sad.

A Wal-Mart worker died after being trampled when hundreds of shoppers smashed through the doors of a Long Island store Friday morning, police and witnesses said.
The 34-year-old employee, a temporary maintenance worker, tried to hold back the unruly crowds just after the Valley Stream store opened at 5 a.m.
Witnesses said the surging throngs of shoppers knocked the man down. He fell and was stepped on. As he gasped for air, shoppers ran over and around him.
“He was bum-rushed by 200 people,” said Jimmy Overby, 43, a co-worker. “They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too…I literally had to fight people off my back.”
The unidentified victim was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:03 a.m., police said.
The cause of death wasn’t immediately available pending results of an autopsy.
A 28-year-old pregnant woman was knocked to the floor during the mad rush. She was hospitalized for observation, police said. Early witness accounts that the woman suffered a miscarriage were unfounded, police said.
At some point, that horrible irony should cause people to pause and think about what motivates them in this holiday season. Everyone likes a good deal, but few of us would choose to die for one — and therefore we shouldn’t want to kill for one, either. Retailers won’t like to hear this, but maybe we need to spend a little less and recover our humanity just a little more.

Hmmm, looks like mostly black people at this store.
There is a reason this only happened at this store. They can beat around the bush all they want, but we know the REAL reason. Those people are animals.

I agree with Cobb, above. I’ve seen photos taken outside the store…10 to one black vs. white people–{I counted}. As one person interviewed said, “Savages indeed…”. ’nuff said.
I think that they should forget Black Friday altogether and keep the prices reasonable for us middle class people. Where has the true meaning of Christmas gone?? Have we forgotten?? Everything is I want, I want, I want, How about giving? That is the true meaning of Christmas.. Remember those that are not as fortunate as us.. Merry Christmas

More black on black crime it appears. If white shoppers had trampled a black worker the FBI would be involved now.
so sad but true, i live in that tow and 99% of the people are NOT from here….its like that most days, we actuallly play a game and hold doors fro people…..on average it takes about 2 hrs to get a thak you and to be truely honest they are not Obama supporters when they are. The mall should be ripped dow it really brings out the worst in people.
RIP to the man who lost his life, ad to be honest the pregnant lady and her wig should have been responsible; I feel terrible for her but you know what youre going to get when you go there on a normal day!! These people are savages abd it shows, sad but true!

A young man is dead and all we get is racist comments, both black and white. We live in a society made up of complete freaks, who closed the day care and let these people out. Spoiled brats.
