Left Celebrate Ann Coulter’s Broken Jaw

I’m not the biggest Ann Coulter fan out there. I think she says things that are way out of line just for the controversy, and attention for selling books. However, when we learned that Teddy Kennedy had brain cancer we didn’t make jokes about it. It would have been easy to do, but we asked our readers to pray for him. This is what makes conservatives different than most liberals! We don’t celebrate the tragedies of others just because we don’t like them. I would make an one exception. I admit I’d probably celebrate if tragedy happened to Fred Phelps and his cult. However, the left are jubilant that Ann Coulter’s mouth has finally been shut!
Mark Adams takes the occassion to wish ill on other rightwingers and even death on one of them.
All my wishes are coming true! Either it’s time to play the lottery or finish that stable for all the ponies I’m getting for Christmas.
What’s next? I do have my Secret Santa List if anyone’s feeling especially generous.

Doctors at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital claim to be searching to replace the damaged bone structure. Maxofacial surgeon Dr. John Halpern detailed the search, “It’s difficult actually to find the right donor material. We have narrowed it down to two possibilities – a non-acid corrosive titanium alloy… or the jawbone of an ass.”
WE HEAR…THAT although we didn’t think it would be possible to silence Ann Coulter, the leggy reaction- ary broke her jaw and the mouth that roared has been wired shut…

Although I’m sure we’ll all miss her on Thanksgiving day when we turn on cable news and there’s no one to tell us that it was good for white settlers to kill off Native Americans, and that’s what we should be celebrating. Or something along those lines. Maybe Michelle Malkin can fill in.

Shall we take this remarkable coincidence — the first big burst of book publicity and the simultaneous announcement of the jaw wiring — at face value? Gosh, I certainly hope it’s a coincidence. I wouldn’t want to think that Coulter is faking a serious injury, or even exploiting a real one, in order to inject herself into the story she plans to tell when she’s hawking her book. After all, what better way to prove that liberals are nasty, vicious bullies than to tell a sob story about how they said mean, nasty things about you when you were injured and in pain (just before your book tour)?

Despite my distaste for about 95% of the things that come out of Ann’s mouth and despite my belief that the conservative movement would be far better off without people like her I still wish her a speedy recovery. And I would never wish something like this on her.
I hope you get well soon Ann but I won’t lie… I’m going to enjoy your silence.

Why am I not surprised to read of this hateful reaction?
Like you, I sometimes find her a bit over the top, but admire her willingness to speak her mind, to hell with what folks might think.
Poor Ann!
This silence, while she recovers her voice, will no doubt driver her nuts for howeverever long it lasts.
She, and we, will I hope be able to take comfort in her columns, when she is able to return to them.
I, for one, hope she rips the haters a new one, full-throttle, no holds barred, in print, and when she gets her voice back.
They will more than deserve it. ;-D
Re: Coulter
Could we expect any more, or less, from frothy-mouthed, bug-eyed, moon-barking fanatics? These are the same people who sniff at Joe Biden’s Eternal Gaffe-O-Rama.
Oh well, the usual suspects had better enjoy Coulter’s temporary silence while they can, because, once she’s recovered, her brand of payback is going to be a royal motherf***er.

There hasn’t been a thing I have read from her that is inaccurate. The fact that she puts people off because she states her case in the most politically incorrect WAY, is a testament to her unwillingness to be cowed by the intolerant loony left.
Don’t get me wrong folks, I agree with almost everything she says and she is very articulate. Sometimes, and maybe its me, she goes over the top to the point of no return…hurting the overall cause instead of helping it.
My point, however, is that no matter what she says…right or wrong…no one should celebrate at her misfortune.
Compared with the hate on the Left she is far from over the top.
I love Ann. Sometimes she goes a tad far, but, I love that she says stuff that no one else in the elite Conservative media will. She’ll do the attacks that others get squishy on. The Left, including elected Democrats, say all sorts of nasty stuff about those on the right, our troops, etc, you know the deal, yet the most conservative big wigs never go down that road. Except Ann.
I think the next time something bad happens to a Democrat we should all right hateful posts as gags, and have hatefull comments, see what the left thinks of that, and have a “we were just emulating you” central post somewhere. Watch the freakouts from the Left.
People do not just fall and break their jaws, but Ann’s personal life is her own to do with what she will. The human head does not orient to gravity in a way that would easily allow breaking a jaw in a fall. The human jaw can tolerate enormous torque and compression. Ali could break a jaw with effort. Anne’s jaw could not have broken without something seriously gone awry. My guess is that she has TMJ or other jaw malformation (it shows in her speech) and underwent surgery. My second guess is that she is using pills. My third guess is that she is drinking, and my fourth is that she is involved in an abusive relationship. “Just fell” falls falls flat to me.
Ann will survive fine.

As a past volunteer emergency services officer (fifteen years), as a past nursing assistant in both hospitals and nursing homes, I can tell you that it is quite possible, and very,very common.
Children, jockeys, construction workers..or a simple office worker who lands the wrong way can suffer a fractured jaw..or skull, or temple, or frontal bone, or eye socket.
The jaw, like any bone, can and will fracture,..and as for torque, I have seen a jaw fractured from coughing..the muscles pulled it apart.
I saw a fractured jaw from a simple accident that left no other injuries…all it takes is force applied the wrong way for a second.
..and you would be wrong with all of the above, not to mention the fact that those comments tend to indicate just what kind of person you are.

I think she’s funny. So many people say conservatives need to “grow a spine” “fight back” yada yada. Ann Coulter does it. But I understand it’s difficult for some of “us” to not be put off by an “abrasive” woman. Personally I enjoy seeing her take it to liberals, make lots of money, and have a good time while she’s at it. Not too many good, honest, decent conservatives can take the abuse she does. I’m glad we have a few.
She uses the controversy to get people to look at her overall message. I don’t think it’s the highest road she could take, but it works. If she just sat there saying innocuous things no one would know who she is.
Once you read what she’s writing, you realize that there is a sense of humor there, and if people don’t understand that then a) their idiots, and b) they need to be less sensitive.

Where’s the outrage? Why isn’t the left up in arms about that? Ann says what she says, but as far as I’m concerned, she’s just pushing buttons, and is a political journalist/columnist, not a serious academic. I think that she and he share the trait of choosing their words poorly for effect. But her position is to mock left wing constant outrage. What’s he trying to do? She knows we’ll never really try to “convert all of their leaders to Christianity”. What’s his real goal and objective? Again, where’s the outrage?
Er… I’m a right wing nut job like the rest of y’all, but I kinda hate this holier-than-thou attitude we sometimes get. “Oh, look how gracious we were after Obama won! NOTHING like what the Left did after Bush!” Yada yada. To some extent it’s true, but let’s not kid ourselves, there were lots of Ted Kennedy jokes- lots of Kennedy jokes in general. And some conservatives were more gracious after Obama’s victory than others. It would be great if the Left were more conscious of us as /fellow human beings/, yeah, but self-righteousness is never in order.
That said, I can’t stand Ann Coulter, and the Christian in me knows never, ever to take pleasure in someone’s pain, but, wow, I wish she’d stop writing and speaking in public, really. She makes us look so, so bad.
Yeah, no one would on the right would ever be classless enough to mock someone’s pain. Like, for instance, when poor little Ann Coulter made jokes about someone’s dead son. It’s not liberals attacking a conservative, it’s liberals attacking Ann Coulter, who distorts facts, glories in the basest forms of political speech, and loves personal attacks.
I for one wish she hadn’t broken her jaw. When she speaks, she spews such vapid, hateful, baseless lies that she makes conservatives all look like crazy loons! If she’s your spokesperson, you can have her, Yikes! The Republican Party is in big, big trouble.

2. God raised up Barack Obama for one purpose, to wit, to usher doomed america and the world to final destruction. First and foremost, to act like there was no positive reaction from the right to the news of Kennedy’s tumor is either disingenuous or naive.
Second, comparing the reaction to what was reported to be a FATAL brain tumor to a broken jaw is ridiculous. Especially considering the irony of it being Ann’s bread and butter and how so many people want her to shut up.
Inappropriate, sure. But to hold the “holier-than-thou” attitude both ignores the nastiness that exists on the right and ignores that these are two entirely different situations.

Ann Coulter is a character test for me…can I remain calm while listening to her rant and rave, distort, foment hate, etc. I usually fail the test.
I like Ann. I noticed that when she writes books she cites facts, documents them with real footnotes that can be checked and verified, and uses clear language that everyone can understand what she means. Like a lot of lawyers, she uses an inflammatory style to get people to pay attention to her work, but it reminds me of the humor of Abbot and Costello. And it works: she sells books, and people pay attention to her opinions.
Ok, does this mean we can’t celebrate when Keith Obermann loses his brain? Oh wait, he never had one.
If you’re really better than everybody else, you don’t have to say it, advertise it, or what-have-you.

Uh, brain cancer vs. a broken jaw…the right never has gotten irony or situational ethics! I hope she recovers completely, but there is humor in this situation that just doesn’t exist for Ted. Poor example that shows the inability to reason clearly when it comes to the emotional content of their “heroes”. Bush and Palin would be other examples. If Obama messes up I hope we at least have the sense to see it and not play the kind of games conservatives have for the past 8 years.

Giving yourself credit for not making fun of someone with a lethal disease, whilst your political betters have chuckles over a loudmouth having her jaw wired shut is the epitome of self aggrandizment. There is absolutely no moral equivalent between the two.
