Ayman al-Zawahiri Calls Obama a House Negro
Posted on November 19, 2008
Update: The Jawa Report has the transcript and video.
Al-Zawahiri obviously paid no attention during our elections to Obama. Let me be clear. The American people have the right to criticize their President-elect, but he is still OUR President-elect and probably an American citizen, and we will rally together against the likes of you, your ignorant insults, and the dangers you pose to us.
Al-Qaida No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahri insulted Barack Obama in the terror group’s first reaction to his election, calling him a demeaning racial term implying that the president-elect is a black American who does the bidding of whites.
The message appeared chiefly aimed at persuading Muslims and Arabs that Obama does not represent a change in U.S. policies. Al-Zawahri said in the message, which appeared on militant Web sites Wednesday, that Obama is “the direct opposite of honorable black Americans” like Malcolm X, the 1960s African-American rights leader.
Al-Zawahri also called Obama — along with secretaries of state Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice — “house negroes.”
Speaking in Arabic, al-Zawahri uses the term “abeed al-beit,” which literally translates as “house slaves.” But al-Qaida supplied English subtitles of his speech that included the translation as “house negroes.”
The message also includes old footage of speeches by Malcolm X in which he explains the term, saying black slaves who worked in their white masters’ house were more servile than those who worked in the fields. Malcolm X used the term to criticize black leaders he accused of not standing up to whites.
The 11-minute 23-second video features the audio message by al-Zawahri, who appears only in a still image, along with other images, including one of Obama wearing a Jewish skullcap as he meets with Jewish leaders. In his speech, al-Zawahri refers to a Nov. 5 U.S. airstrike attack in Afghanistan, meaning the video was made after that date.
Your comment about Obama being a House negro, doing the bidding of whites is ridiculous and not only an insult to Barack, but America in general. Unlike your god Allah, America overcame the evils of slavery and while we still struggle with racism our system grants equal rights to people of all color. Obama is a product of that struggle and an example of just how equal we are. He will be the man in charge, not the one taking orders. What an ignorant statement you made. It certainly will do nothing but inflame America’s rightfully targeted hatred towards you and your stupid cause.
He also criticizes Obama’s plan to shift troops to Afghanistan, his support of Israel, and abandoning his Islamic roots. Obama’s support for Israel has yet to be seen, and most likely will be less than past presidents as he tries to capitulate to Arabs and Palestinians. Furthermore, Obama claims to have never been Muslim, and abandoning his father’s misguided religion is a good thing. You have proven nothing with your insults but your own stupidity. They show Al Qaeda still views America as the enemy and I doubt Obama’s smooth character will sooth that one bit, even if he were to call for negotiations without preconditions. Your insults will do nothing but further unite America against you, which is your aim anyway. You will live to regret that goal. America isn’t stupid, and while we may be divided on politics we are still united against your evils. We may not agree with Obama’s policies, but we will support America’s elected leader against you. Now that we know your organization is racist, the left very well may start helping to fight you.
I hope Obama doesn’t respond with some nonsense about interfaith dialogue. You are not worthy of a response at all. If he does respond, I hope he tracks you down and personally puts a bullet in your head. The race card isn’t gonna work for you.
So what prompted this outburst? Well, the sun rose in the east, and the Caliphate remains a fevered fantasy, and that’s probably enough. Zawahiri objected to Obama’s plan to escalate the effort against al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Apparently, Zawahiri thinks Malcolm X wouldn’t do that, or profess alliance to Israel, which are both true, and both as pointless as Zawahiri himself, since Obama has never professed to be a disciple of Malcolm X anyway.
At the least, it shows that racism and profiling exist in far greater quantities outside the US than within it. Except for the occasional exceptions to the rule, of course, like Harry Belafonte.
Irascible Chef is on the same page with me.
Holy smokes! That might just mean that those folks who hate us, hate us because we’re Americans, not because of our policies or our leaders (as Democrats told us the last eight years). It may mean they want to blow us up no matter which party controls the reins of government. Jeez, I’d never thought of that.

One wonders how Al-Zawahiri manages to maintain such a high level of hate and anger going over such a long period of time. Most human beings would get weary of all the drama and get into gardening or jogging. Somehow, Al-Zawahiri is able to keep his hate focused and intense as ever. Takes a special mentality to do that. The irony of his latest message is that he conveniently ignores the latter part of Malcolm X’s life, where he embraced tolerance and eschewed hate. Malcolm X was a better Muslim that Al-Zawahiri could ever hope to be. Even Louis Farakahn has gone through a similar evolution. Al-Zawahiri is still upset about his treatment in Egypt decades ago. Must’ve been buggered by a cell-mate. A truly spiritual person wouldn’t be so tenacious about hate because he would have eventually contemplated his own imperfections and, eventually, evolved to a philosophy of tolerance. That’s what doubt does. At the end of the day, there’s only one word that accurately describes Al-Zawahiri’s certainty about his beliefs: insanity.
uh…just one correction: Obama will be in power, but he SERVES the American people. We hire him to work for us. Since we’re not all white, Al-Zawahiri’s slur still doesn’t hold up. But, make no mistake: Barack Obama was elected to SERVE the American people - not RULE them, as one of his minions claimed.
O-BA-MA…O-BA-MA…O-BA-MA…O-BA-MA…
Dont act all defensive because someone insulted BHO. Yeah he is OUR president but so is/was Bush.
And I defend Bush when terrorists insult him as well. Whats your point?
Respectfully, you are off base on this one…this tape is for external consumption.
Don’t you realize that once Barry Soetoro pulls us out of Iraq in the manner he advances, it will be perceived as a victory for Al Qaeda in the Islamic World.
Percieved being the operative word, since these people are NOT rational, by and large.
Liberating Guantanamo prisonerss and or transfering so they can be Mirandized will also be perceived as weak.
I can’t believe you have fallen for the Obama rhetoric that he is going to kill UBL, LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
After our draw down in Iraq, Barry is going to cut our force in the Afghanistan theater and or seriously diminish our offensive capability…
The Pakis are already saying that drone attacks in the NWFP are going to cease!!!!
Barry threw Poland under the bus last week over the missile shield…
Wake up buddy, we have a Muslim, interloping Socialist, anti American thug as President elect, not some honorable man….
Sheesh, why can’t we just all get along. I personally believe that hate is a tool used by people who refuse to understand others differences. I could be wrong, but when you understand what makes another person tick, it is easier to forgive their shortcomings. We are all human, and we all make mistakes. Not all muslims hate America, I would say that a great deal of them admire our culture even though we are a relatively young country. Democracy would be a hard concept to swallow for people who have never been free to speak their minds without fear of a higher power cutting off their tongue. Then again, I was born free, and find it difficult to percieve what it would be like to have no say at all. You must walk in someones shoes to see through their eyes.

Someone has mistaken my defense into thinking that I like Obama. Let me correct you. I think he will be the worst president we have ever had. I still hate Zawahari.
Well, look at the bright side: Zawahiri had just given the moonbats precisely the excuse they need to (finally) get on board the GWOT Express:
“Zawahiri insulted L’Obama Magnifique by calling heem un House Neeeeegro? Ooooh, zees shall not stand! Aux armes citoyens! WE CLASH!”
Hmmm. It seems to me he insulted the whole contry not just the new president. I did not vote for Obama, but he is my president and I will support him no matter what!
Obama is black and white. he is a very bright person.Color never bothered his families.
Good luck and stop hating
OOOOOO… i see that the world is the same no matter where you live?… This guy has no legs to stand on… he has no mind of his own and nor does the people that follow him.. Obama was the better chioce in this race… the best choice for president? UMMM NO… but hey he is the elect and we if we wish to survive must push on to support our country and we do that by supporting our leaders…I have heard waaaay to many bad things about to obama to stand and take up for the guy but at the same time I must trust him?… I know confussing aint it?… but non the less thats how it is… I hated Bush he has done nothing great for this country and never would have… Obama is at lest a change in the vinue… MAYBE JUST MAYBE he will do some good… and crush guys like this with a single blow and forget about all the political fighting that has never gotten us any where…
I feel sorry for Al-Zawahiri. He’s old and until now haven’t realized that he is accountable of everything that he says. At the end of his life, he will acknowledge that he has wasted his life, talents and knowedledge and have brought destruction to his own people.
The hatred that Al-Zawahiri had inherited from his ancestors is eating him up and his colleagues’ and this will pass on to the next generation. What a legacy! HATRED?!?
The world is being wasted because of hatred, prejudice and jealousy. Is this kind of world does He wants his grandchildren to live in.
I may dont agree with zwahiri for sure , but America’s record isnt that clean , from its erection till late 60s it phas practised racism agaisnt colours and still the traces are present till now , furthermore it shores up the only racist country , so called Israel that have been established at the expense of its real inhabiters , the palestinians and for around more than 70 years the jews who came by force into palestine under the effect of the zionist lobby on the american governments sponsor their illegal forceful transfer to the lands of the palestinians , mentioning that you americans are all the time in other’s countries , why dont u leave others alone and try to be a justfiable tool if you have to get into international affairs , just yesterday you were encouraging the apartheid regime in south africa , try to promote justice in the world instead of waging wars you and the jews. now at any spot in the world you have a bad print ,Ciao
