Obama’s Plan to Sell Out Israel

Posted on November 16, 2008

The Times of London report on Obama’s “peace” plan for Israel. He will propose we go back to Saudi Arabia’s plan to give all the land Israel captured in the 1967 war to the Palestinians.

Barack Obama is to pursue an ambitious peace plan in the Middle East involving the recognition of Israel by the Arab world in exchange for its withdrawal to pre-1967 borders, according to sources close to America’s president-elect.

Obama intends to throw his support behind a 2002 Saudi peace initiative endorsed by the Arab League and backed by Tzipi Livni, the Israeli foreign minister and leader of the ruling Kadima party. The proposal gives Israel an effective veto on the return of Arab refugees expelled in 1948 while requiring it to restore the Golan Heights to Syria and allow the Palestinians to establish a state capital in east Jerusalem.

On a visit to the Middle East last July, the president-elect said privately it would be “crazy” for Israel to refuse a deal that could “give them peace with the Muslim world”, according to a senior Obama adviser.

Charle’s Johnson:

Obama apparently has been convinced by his gaggle of mildly to extremely anti-Israel advisers that the best hope for change is to give a one-sided deal concocted by a rabidly anti-Israel, totalitarian religious monarchy another chance.

Putting aside the issue of whether any of the Arab players in this eternally-recycling “land for peace” shell game can be trusted to keep their side of any bargain, there’s always the possibility that the Palestinian side (whoever that is; Fatah? Hamas?) will manage to screw it up, either by making the “right of return” a deal-breaker or by committing some heinous act of mass murder.

Being that the definition of “peace” to the Islamists is temporary consolation, and the fact that Israel gets nothing from this deal, the only saving grace left is that Israel wouldn’t be stupid enough to agree to this.

Ed Morrissey:

Obama reportedly told Mahmoud Abbas that “Israel would be crazy” not to accept the plan. He concluded that the Saudi plan would give Israel peace with the entire Muslim world. Really? It might make it palatable for some states like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to start diplomatic relations with Israel, and perhaps even Syria if they get back the Golan Heights. But who believes that Iran, Yemen, Libya, Sudan, and the proxy armies of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad will suddenly discover brotherly love with such a settlement? They want Israel wiped off the map, literally in Iran’s case, and the Israelis driven into the Mediterranean.

Israel can decide on its own to take a risk and adopt the smaller borders in exchange for the promise of peace. Obama should have stuck with his AIPAC speech, or the initial retreat from it.

Well, it’s not like we had any warning signs about this. It’s not like Obama listened to the rantings of an anti-semite for twenty years. Oh crap…

My advice to Israel – tell Obama to go screw himself.

You know, the Israelis are supposed to have an estimated 150 to 200 nuclear warheads. and God-Knows-What biological capabilities, with which to exercise a “Samson” option.

And this ain’t the “Turn the other cheek” crowd; I don’t think they’re into that part of the Book.

Is Obama going to sternly warn the Israelis, in the event they get overrun, or Haifa and Tel Aviv disappear under mushroom clouds,
    “DON’T YOU DARE OVERREACT!”?

I doubt Israeli Loyalist Rahm Emanuel will allow this.

If you do a web search on the name of the Times of London “Journalist” Uzi Mahnaimi, you’ll discover he’s incredibly unreliable.

There are some wrong stories he’s posted in the Times over and over. So this Obama story is not likely to be true.

He’s the guy who reported the Israeli ethnic bomb that could tell the difference between Arabs and Jews and kill only Arabs.

Perhaps the reporter is unreliable, that doesn’t matter. He has a bad reputation…a checkered past. He has reported accurately as well. Knowing Obama’s past, this report is likely true.

Well just think of it this way…. he is our
president… we have to support him. 57 milion people like myself did not vote for this man because of his past…Everyone in this country is watching. And we really shouldn’t give a hoot what the extremists think either. God will sort all of this out anyway.

Here is something the Euro-weenies need to think about:

Israel not only has enough nukes to wipe out its enemies in the Middle East, it also has enough to fire a very large salvo at Europe and Russia as well in “ultimate payback” for the Holocaust.

With its arsenal, Israel could easily wipe out half of Europe and permanently throw the other half back into the Stone Age. Not bad for 30 minutes’ work.

    An exercise for the students:

As Israeli Defense Force Chief of Staff ) or whatever the rank is), you are ordered to design a “Samson” option to (in the event of Holocaust II) take down as many of the bastards with you as possible, given 150 to 200 nuclear warheads, and possibly enormous biological expertise.

    What would you consider?

Would “those bastards” include countries (including so-called allies) that just stood by and let it happen?

What would really do the most damage to them?

(All of this considering that you will not go gently into the good night.)

I thought the MSM is full of baloney. Not when they tell you what you want to hear, I guess.

Good job on selectively quoting the TimesOnline article so that it sounds like what you are saying is true. I believe this is the link you provided:

    http://tinyurl.com/666tk8

And here’s the stuff from the article you left out. For your convenience, I’ll include a * next to the important parts:
    ——————————————–
The Arab peace plan received a boost last week when President Shimon Peres*, a Nobel peace laureate and leading Israeli dove, commended the initiative at a Saudi-sponsored United Nations conference* in New York.

Peres was loudly applauded* for telling King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, who was behind the original initiative: “I wish that your voice will become the prevailing voice of the whole region, of all people.”

A bipartisan* group of senior foreign policy advisers urged Obama to give the Arab plan top priority immediately after his election victory. They included Lee Hamilton, the former co-chairman of the Iraq Study Group*, and Zbigniew Brzezinski, a Democrat former national security adviser. Brzezinski will give an address tomorrow at Chatham House, the international relations think tank*, in London.

Brent Scowcroft*, a Republican* former national security adviser, joined in the appeal. He said last week that the Middle East was the most troublesome area in the world and that an early start to the Palestinian peace process was “a way to psychologically change the mood of the region”.

Advisers believe the diplomatic climate favours a deal as Arab League countries are under pressure from radical Islamic movements and a potentially nuclear Iran. Polls show that Palestinians and Israelis are in a mood to compromise*.
    ——————————————–
That’s the stuff you left out. Fortunately, you did remember to add some RW spin.

David said: “Well just think of it this way… he [Barack] is our president… we have to support him …”
Not sure if David was saying this “tongue-in-check” or seriously. In any case, we are not obliged to SUPPORT a POLICY of any president that we personally object to. For example, I am against this proposal for Israel to give up land for virtually nothing in return. Presidential policy or not! I won’t and don’t support it.

Obama Sucks! Israel is just about our only true ally in the region and he is selling them out.

  13. Ryan on November 17th, 2008 3:03 am

Israel and the U.S. have always been really tremendously great allies, and frankly if Obama sells out Israel it would be a disgrace to his position and put my beautiful country of America to shame.

The day it happens lady liberty will hang her head low.

We also need a “Middle East Fairness Doctrine” as part of the overall peace plan,
no matter what it is. This would ensure that
on Palestinian children tv shows there is an “Arab eating chipmunk” to counter the “Jew eating rabbit”. If they can do that then I think we have a winner:)
