“there’s a lot of hate on both sides.”
[edited][with warning]. That is one side who doesn’t believe in free speech for the other side. Ripping the cross from her hand and pushing her around like that is assault. All she did was stand and try to voice her opinion. Throw the bums in jail.
End of clip, the anchorman states:
“There is a lot of anger and a lot of hate, quite obviously on both sides.”
The incredible Pravda media strike again.
I wonder if any of the demons involved where actually there at the Crucifixion.
Maybe at Sodom and Gomorrah, too.
Wow. All I can say is Wow. What HATE is being demonstrated now towards the Cross, towards Christians, towards anyone who even DARES to vote their ideals and beliefs.
This has truly become a war. What UTTER cowards and freaks, pushing around some 80 year old woman.
Unbelievable.
This is what happens when you try to vote away the rights of a minority to be treated as equal citizens in this country.
Of course they are angry and they have every right to be so.
What did frail old dummy think was going to happen when she walked into a pack of people whose rights as Americans were just trampled upon while she extols that she is one of those who gladly did the trampling?
Can’t you feel the love, tolerance and acceptance?
Art, they are equal citizens. They can marry one person of the opposite sex, who is a human being, not a relative, etc.
Sexual preferences are not civil rights.
Art,
It was put to popular vote, and they lost. That’s the democratic process.
Obama’s going to take a lot of my rights away. Should I take them back by force?
Ridiculous. They have no right to assault her for her opinion.
Art, in countries where homosexuals can marry, few do. It has never been about “rights”. It’s always been about forced endorsement and validation.
Danny,
So following your logic if few heterosexuals chose to marry then it would be okay to deny those few that did want to marry the right to do so? That reasoning is not only illogical but also unethical, and un-American.
This country is about being a haven for those groups that are persecuted because of their beliefs and culture, not turning around and doing the same to them. When we decide that popular vote can dictate the rights of the minority to practice their own beliefs then we are no longer acting in the spirit in which this country was founded.
Even if gay marriage were legal, no private citizen would be forced to morally agree with it. That is everyone’s right. However it is the duty of the government to ensure that its citizens, one and all, are protected and treated fairly.
Outrageous
And doesn’t surprise me
The left has always stifled free speech
Free speech for me, but not for thee!
Nice!
no, not a lot of hate from “both” sides. A lot of “hate” on one side, and they’re busyily shouting down the rights to speech and worship of others.
Also, marriage is not a “symbol” of love. It’s a sacrament.
You have got to admit that attacking that woman was not a good idea for them.
ART: I dare you to show me exactly WHERE in the Constitution marriage – of ANY person, gay, straight, or otherwise – is a RIGHT that you and so many others are moaning being denied (or as you like, TRAMPLED).
This is not about RIGHTS to marry or RIGHTS to ANYTHING. This is about oppression and bullying, forcing the will of the minority onto the majority. This is about YOUR imposition upon US that which you desire without any regard to the rest of us, just like prayer at ANY public gathering, just like ripping the Pledge of Allegiance from our children, just like abortion. It’s all about YOU YOU YOU. The MINORITY wanting dominance over ALL.
Grow a brain, get a conscience, buy a life. Just get over yourself already.

You are so wrong it’s not even funny…This country was founded on moral principles, and homosexual behavior, anyway a moral society views it is still immoral, so, if you desire to condone these types of suppressive tactics because moral America (California) doesn’t agree with your immoral acts, then that sounds like a bunch of sour grapes to me…
Looks to me like you didn’t win…So tidy up and wait for the next one…Pretty sure the land of fruit and nuts will someday allow you to booger yourselves into oblivion…
If your people pulled stuff like that here in Texas, I can guarantee you that you will never be that unhappy again…
And that is in no way a hateful statement, only a statement of fact…You assault someone, there is no law that says that a person cannot defend themselves against such an assault…
I really pity you people…
I find this very disturbing. If you don’t like the lady’s opinion, then try to convince her. Give her the arguments from Jonathan Rauch’s book on the subject instead of screaming at her.
All of my gay friends are regular guys who would NEVER go [edited] crazy like this on some old lady. Now they’re going to get lumped into this group of jerks.
There are indeed some out of control gay guys in this protest. They obviously are way out of line, and I hope they do press charges against the perps.
With that said, we certainly cannot judge all gays by this unruly crowd – all groups can cough up an unruly crowd, and a mob generally ends up attacking whoever is handy – other gays have been attacked in some of these protests.
I was actually once rescued from a dangerous situation by half a dozen gay guys, which sticks in my mind as I watch this vid.
That was absolutely disgusting behavior displayed by the homosexuals. If I had been there I probably would have gone to jail for defending that lady.
To any of you anti-prop 8 protesters that were there, you should be ashamed of yourselves to subject an elderly person to that sort of treatment. You fools just canonized more people against your cause by your savage and ignorant behavior.
Angie and Native Texan -
What you and your ilk continually fail to see is that it is YOU who cannot get over yourselves.
Just because you are fervent in your beliefs does not mean you can enforce them on everybody. You cannot enforce your version of sexual morality through the law, especially considering it involves harming no other individual in any legal manner.
And legalizing gay marriage is not enforcing that belief on you. It allows gays to be treated equally under the law.
It has nothing to do with your religion or personal beliefs, which would go unmarred if gay marriage were allowed under California law.
Why don’t you travel over to Massachusetts and Connecticut and see how anti-gay marriage people are faring? Got those big news stories about anti-gay heterosexuals being devastated because of those legal gay unions?
I hope she sues that idiot. You lost, get over it. I didn’t like the outcome of the pres. election but I sure as hell won’t be hurting someone because of it. What a bunch of losers.
Well said Native Texan. That bull wouldn’t fly here in Louisiana either.
I wanna move to Texas. You guys have all the guns. It seems like it’s much safer there.
Art: What you and YOUR ilk continually fail to see is that it is YOU who are attempting to enforce YOUR version of sexual morality through the law. It’s not ME out there protesting the travesty and horror of a gay marriage ban, harassing old ladies, stomping on crosses, acting like I forgot to take my medications and desperately need a shot of Haldol.
In all my years, I don’t recall ever seeing any such proposal in my state. Were it to crop up, I would probably **** canaries.
IMO, marriage is a personal issue having NO BUSINESS being legislated, PERIOD. The very first law defining the legality/illegality of marriage (ANY MARRIAGE, not just gay) opens the floodgates for further intrusion into our personal lives. This is NOT the answer. Lawmakers and other politicians sticking their fingers in this pie are doing nothing more than making our decisions for us, rather than BUTTING OUT of something that does not concern them (as you said, LEGALLY NOT HARMING ANYONE), yet WE are the ones who live with the consequences; and we continue to give them more power to make more and more of our decisions, intruding further and further into our personal lives, through actions such as we see in this video.
Again, I dare you to show me exactly where in the Constitution marriage (AGAIN… ANY marriage AT ALL, and I am not just pointing out GAY MARRIAGE, bud) is a protected RIGHT.
IT.IS.NOT.
For centuries, marriage has traditionally been considered a religious matter. So if it is not harming any other individual in any LEGAL manner, what legitimate reason is there for it to be legislated? Again, I am referring to ALL marriages, homo- or heterosexual, polygamous, or to a tree or a unicorn prancing in a meadow.
If marriage is held in a religious context in the hearts of gays wanting it (that would make sense – to me, anyhow – desiring to bind oneself to another in the name of God), then NO law could undermine its foundations; recognized by GOD, the state is incidental.
This is the way *I* see it, in a heterosexual marriage performed in His name and in His eyes. That I needed to buy a license was irrelevant; regardless of whether I had it or not, recognized by the State or not, my marriage was valid, recognized by the church.
This is NOT a matter of religion, fairly obvious by the trampling of the cross by the crowd arguing for the “rights” of gays to marry. Therefore, it can only be a case of the minority imposing their will upon the majority. YOU (gays) forcing your version of sexual morality on ME (not-gays). Your message is loud and clear: This is not about marriage or the right to marry but about forcing acceptance of previously taboo sexual congress.
If it is, in fact, a more benign legal matter i.e., partner needs insurance, other benefits recognized only by law, there are far better ways than this to accomplish that goal.
What is aggravating is that you do not seem to understand that brute force tactics will never help you succeed. All they do is hurt your cause. More aggravating is that I (not-whatever) am forced – OTHERWISE KNOWN AS DURESS – to accept what you want but you do not respond in kind. I’m all for “live and let live,” but your side sees every issue a battlefield. We are not allowed to pray in any public place. My children are not allowed to recite in school the Pledge of Allegiance – swearing an oath of loyalty to the United States. No one should be forced to participate in these activities if they do not wish to; likewise, no one should be forced NOT to if they do.
So instead of just walking away, living and letting live, the dagger is thrust in a little deeper and given a twist for good measure. What’s good for the goose is never good enough for the gander, but in the end we’re all cooked.
