I propose the date of April 1st!
Hey, remember when presidents had to actually lead and accomplish things before having a national holiday named after them? Well, now all you gotta do is be black and show up for the job.
Plans are being made to promote a national holiday for Barack Obama, who will become the nation’s 44th president when he takes the oath of office Jan. 20.
“Yes We Can” planning rallies will be at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the downtown McDonald’s restaurant, 1100 Kansas Ave., until Jan. 13. The goals are to secure a national holiday in Obama’s honor, to organize celebrations around his inauguration and to celebrate the 200th birthday of President Abraham Lincoln, who was born on Feb. 12 1809.
I’m sure it can be a paid day off from work where we take what we’ve earned and give it to a bum. Perhaps Oprah can give everyone new cars on the holiday! She will need to make sure they are hybrids though. Maybe people will tell stories of how he was born in a manger and stuff. Perhaps government can finally create a nativity scene the ACLU will not want to ban.
There’s no national holiday for JFK, Reagan, or even Clinton. Yet people are pushing for a national holiday for a guy that hasn’t even taken office yet? This has gone beyond infatuation; it’s worship.

Some things are just beyond parody. The really sad thing is that John McCain and his campaign lost to this pack of deranged autofellators.
And what would we call it? Obamamessiah Day? When would it be? His birthday? His ascension day? And, do I need to point this one out – he is still living (Thank goodness). We don’t have holidays in this country for people who are still actively walking around.
Don’t get me wrong. Obama taught me a thing or two. First I thought we were not a racist nation, but I learned the hard way that we are a racist nation.
Why? Because if Obambi was white, he never would have gotten elected. The man has no record, no resume, no recommendation (sans terrorists and race baiters). In other words, he was elected because he was black. That’s pathetic and racist.
In the end I believe the only thing the liberals are accomplishing with this embarrassing cult of Obama is setting themselves up for a huge disappointment. What happens when Obama starts to pull back on all those completely insane promises he made? Many will make excuses for him but those on the fringe left will be mighty upset.
The point is, we already have too many damned Federal holidays as it is and I’m always on the lookout to see if we couldn’t combine and reduce a few more. There are all too many days now when I can’t get my mail delivered, have my trash picked up, and I find the neighborhood littered with screaming children who bloody well ought to be in school.
January is already crowded with Hunt for Happiness Week (January 18-24); while January 20 is “Rid the World of Fad Diets and Gimmicks Day”.
The month of January itself is recognized as California Dried Plum Digestive Month, among other things.
Why shouldn’t he have his own holiday?
The King is honored (Elvis Presley Week(?) January 8-11), why not a day for The Messiah?
At least some have not joined the cult yet.

Hah – just wait a year or so until these same people push for his likeness to be carved into Mount Rushmore.
I’d vote to put him on the $3 bill, myself.
Interesting to note that, as far as I know, Obama has voted “present” on this idiotic proposal. He hasn’t encouraged it…but he hasn’t discouraged it either.
Here’s my suggestion: if this insane idea comes to fruition, let’s all show up for work on “Dear Leader Day.” And then we can all “call in sick” on another day, like Washington’s Birthday. That’ll make a political statement like nothing else, won’t it?

Meanwhile, the Democrats have organized; headed up by a very successful community organizer, the value of which was ridiculed by the GOP. The new Democrat party has three million (and counting) loyal Internet soldiers and will use them to make things go their way. And it will take a lot more than name-calling, accusations and character defamation next time around to put a dent in that armor.
The 21st Century Republican Party needs to re-identify itself, or become the laughing stock of the world. If Obama makes great inroads on turning America around over the next four years, the Republican Party can stick a fork in itself, because it will be done.

How about waiting at least until he’s served a term in office before suggesting that he’s as worthy of being remembered as Washington and Lincoln? What’s the tearing rush?
how about this audience doesn’t get use to taking time off, Obama called for taking election day off, now a national Obama holiday. Are we going to become a nation that doesn’t work, does anyone look at the economy or are they on Mars. Get a grip get a job and keep working.

We learn more about people’s character in how they act when they, their viewpoint, their team, etc. loses than when they win. What we get out of this is that there continues to be an ardent group of Republicans who have nothing better to do than to tear down others. Its unfortunate, but their hate is all they have left. At least McCain had the courtesy to act like an adult. Its unfortunate that some of the others in his party can’t.
People. Stay on topic. The question is…should we really even be considering this? How about JFK day first? I mean, Obama has proven nothing yet. He made history because why? Because he is black? That isn’t an accomplishment. He was born half black. Before we consider honoring him, how about we wait to see if actually delivers the many promises he made? How about we wait till he actually has some accomplishments to honor? No other President has their own day. We even combined Licoln and Washington to President’s Day. Whats the deal?
The destruction of America is beginning already. Obama is a nightmare and will bring hell on earth to the people of America. God has been very patient with us, he has given us a free will, and allowed this to happen, and soon we will see the results of our disobedience. We have made a horrible choice , our people chose a man who is anti-life, pro abortion; an abomination which will soon cause desolation. Many will die as a result of Obama’s decisions. The blood of unborn children drips from he hands of leftist DEMONcrats. May they be condemmed to eternal hell for the destruction they will cause. If he is not the Anti-Christ, then he surely is setting the stage for one to come into power. May God forgive this nation for it’s moral blindness, this monstrosity called Obama.

I support and voted for Obama, and electing our first black president is a monumental historical event, but I do agree that its jumping the gun. I think the excitement has gone to some people’s heads.

I saw this and… seriously? As a democrat, I can’t believe people think he’s done anything to get a holiday yet; yes, it is historic that someone who has partial African American heritage was elected – this is not why I voted for him, no no it was not. I do agree that if he had been white there would have been less chance of his entire package seeming attractive to MANY voters, but again, not why I voted for him.

I’d love to come back with just a “screw you” and leave it at that, but that would not be constructive. After eight years with Bush, during which things happened thatmay have happened with ANY president; yes, his decision to go to Iraq and the Middle East netted us Saddam Hussein, but I always viewed it as finishing Desert Storm; yes, something terrible happened that made it SEMI reasonable to send troops in (9/11, which despite what people seem to think, I have NOT forgotten and do NOT need to be reminded of it as often as I am). However, while not everything can be his fault, he never sat well with me.
You say Obama is NOT pro-life, but pro-choice; true, but pro-choice allows women to make the decision for themselves. If I WERE to get pregnant, I would opt for adoption, because there are MANY couple in the country who deserves the chance to be parents. So while I guess you could say I am pro-life for MYSELF, I am pro-choice for others.
I am a democrat; however, I do try to be a good person and not stereotype or generalise Republicans. If someone is ignorant and rude, they will BE ignorant and rude whether or not they are a Republican or a Democrat. Besides, I have family memebers who are Republican and you know what? We don’t really do politics at gatherings BECAUSE it is such a topic.

For teh record, I don’t think he would be the first president I would think of to get a holiday – but we already have one for Presidents, ty. Make it a holiday if you want, but don’t make it something people can have a day off for – keep President’s day in tact.
Congrats to Mona for the most sensible comment from an Obama supporter yet. Lets wait and see if he can accomplish something before rewarding him with a holiday. What a concept! No doubt he will most likely fail at this, but even giving the benefit of the doubt the entire point is….he hasn’t earned it yet. Precisely my point….Just to let you know how incompetent Palin is she did not even know that Africa was a continent nor does she have any experience in foreign policy. The woman did not get a passport until last year! Not to say she is incapable, but she was not ready to be V.P. without a proper education and experience. I can’t say that I am particularly pleased with the results of the election.
But, the people have spoken. He is our president-elect. Bush is a lame-duck.
I have never seen President Bush’ terms in office as a ‘kings’ rule.
And the war that no-one really wants continues to be funded. For ever-growing amounts of money. And the men and women of our Armed Forces keep re-paying that funding by shedding their blood.
It might be better of us to keep the colorful witticism’s and deft character-assassinations to ourselves. It has already been noted several times that President-elect Obama has yet to serve his first day in full office. Let’s see what he can pull out of his rabbit-hat. The proof will be in the pudding.

I have nothing against having a holiday to recognize the accomplishments of the Black people. But, let us not forget the many things that George Washington Carver,discovered for all of mankind, and the teachings that Booker T. Washington left for us. We have had many fine Black entainers that have given song, dance and laughter. We have the likes of Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Medgar Evars and the black men and Women who have served in our military. Yes, We could have a National Black Day to recognize all. My Sugestion would be to change Martin Luther King Day to National Black Day.

For those proposing this plan… Yes, it is presumptious to even consider a holiday for someone who hasn’t even been sworn in office yet. It appears likely from the cjonline item, which really doesn’t provide attribution, that those plans are being made by some local African Americans in Kansas. Looks as though they are extremely proud and excited about Obama becoming the first of their race to win the presidency.

ok if we’re going to make a holiday make on for every individual soldier that has given his life for our country. yeah i know we have veterans day. that’s great. but for each INDIVIDUAL soldier that has given his life for us. yeah we might be off every day but just the recognition for the individaul soldier somehow would be better than having a holiday for someone (white or black) that hasn’t even proven himself yet. what about a reagan holiday. to me the soldiers that lost their lives deserve more than one day. hell even the living ones has to relive their own hell. and they want to make a holiday for someone who has not proven themselves. yeah rigt.

As far as I am able to tell, Barack Hussein Obama is a normal human being, whose appearance on earth followed the normal pattern of human intercourse, gestation, labor and delivery. Tell me someone please, that he is not the result of immaculate conception.
Regarding your other assertions, I honestly fail to see how Obama’s campaign and election, based as it was on racism and divisiveness, will serve to bring about better race relations, much less more jobs, better healthcare, and so forth?

When shall we ever learn some from history about how we treat others on the basis of the color of their skin? What shall we accomplish by ridiculing others? Where has it lead us?
When shall we understand that our very existence in today’s world is closely related to the very existence of others who may not be like us externally? Our very existence and progress is very dependent on how we relate to others in our communities, and in this world. We must understand that though we may appear externally different but we are similar internally. The internal similarities should be the pillar of relationship. Take a look at the color of your blood and all internal organs. Tell me the difference. A person is said to be civilized when that person understands that we are all the same internally though we my look different externally. We have to show respect, love and understanding for one another though we may have different skin colors, languages, cultures, gender and many others. Let me say this: All those who accuse others of Racism or discrimination are ignorant and disrespectful. We could enjoy teasing others and think we are having fun but we do hurt the feelings of others. Worst still, we would not condone what we say of others if the same things are said of us. We must stop disrespecting others.
I only hope that for those who are forgetting why we vote, dont blame others for there misfortunes. voteing for a historical thing in america was not a good thing, now the question is, will obama do what he said is going to do, better this country?

First of all, I don’t know where people get the idea this guy had the black vote handed to him. He didn’t. As a matter of fact, he received a lot of flack from black America before he even really got into campaigning. I remember this vividly. The fact that blacks eventually flocked to him is a sign that he was actually qualified because no black person would ever vote for a black guy that has no chance in hell and has zero viability when it comes to getting elected. If you put Alan Keys on a presidential ticket, he would lose and would have a small percentage of black votes.
Moving on…while I think a holiday in Obama’s honor at this junction is premature and completely unnecessary, how dare some of you try to bring down a guy who hasn’t screwed anything up in the last 8 years. Next to Sarah Palin, he looks like the brightest light shining in the dark. This woman thinks foreign policy is being able to see a foreign country from the coastline; she thinks Africa is a country and went to 5 different community colleges before she received a degree and has never, ever in her life been anywhere outside the United States before this election. How could you even dare think that would be a wiser choice to make? If you didn’t vote for Obama, that’s tough because your guy lost and for good reason. The gall of some people is really outstanding. He won. Get over it. And no there shouldn’t be a national holiday for him, but for God’s sake, stop being sore losers about it.
I’m pretty sure we aren’t at the end of days, just yet,so the ‘obamessiah’ is little more then a false profit, and with all False Profits if you listen long enough, you’ll catch them misleading you, this is an age of information but people are willing to listen to the simple things, even if they are not true(contradicting oneself, 57 states, etc. etc.)Their silver tongues can only get them so far, how far, well apparently to the White House far.

It appears we all have options. Regardless of our personal feelings the man will be the president. Can’t say I’m happy but remember the Dems have been miserable for years. Option one is shut up, watch and wait. Maybe the man can walk on water. Option two is continue whinging and annoy everbody. Option three is one that a lot of whites in former colonial countries have had to choose in the last half of the twentieth century. Emigrate. Living as a minority in someone elses country is easy and most often very pleasant. Living as a minority in your country must be terrible. Ask the blacks. I certainly can’t do it. For me it was a great country. I received a good education, was priveleged to serve in the American military and live a reasonable lifestyle. For whites however that time is drawing to a close. Even though it was a monumental and historic event for this country — no matter what color you are — think about why it is so significant before you throw your hands up in the air and cry reverse racism. Before the naysayers pronounce his upcoming tenure in the Oval Office a failure, just give him the same chance that was afforded his 43 predecessors. He probably has the hardest job ahead of him than any other President that we can remember.
Unfortunately, a Black man still has the burden of having to be twice as good at what he does to get half the respect. Maybe after 43 more Presidential elections this won’t be the case. Just get over it and get on board with making this country better for everyone who wants to work at it.

I wish that the only way to get an abortion is when the pregnancy endangers the mother’s life and she and the baby would die if this did not happen. So many couple’s in America are looking to adopt children who can’t have children of their own. It’s horrible that girl’s will get pregnant and kill the baby just because they were out screwing around. America’s morals are at the lowest I’ve ever seen. Parents should teach their children about sex really and that having sex could produce babies-real innocent lives that don’t need to be murdered because they bed hopped from man to man and men pressuring young girls to have sex.
If they could use the fetus’s of spontaneous abortions in stem cell, I don’t think that would be evil.

I know how this issues consumes certain people to the point of zealism. When you are that passionate about such a controversial issue. You do things that you wouldn’t normally do. Sooo if Obama is standing in the way. Well by God he will have to be demonized, accussed of all kinds of evil things. But what you miss is just like me. People who are Pro Choice are not evil. We are God fearing, decent people that wish no ill will on anyone. I don’t run around demanding a woman has right to choose. In fact I support educational requirements to make sure a woman know’s what she is doing when she has an abortion. But this hating on people because your cause is sooo just. I have to say, that 1)I don’t care if President elect Obama is Black, White, Purple of Polk-a-dotted.
2) I didn’t vote against him because of the color of his skin, and I am getting tired of people who did vote for him claiming that the ones that didn’t are racist.
I work in a field where I get come in contact with all walks of life and all races. The facts are that more people said they voted for him because of the “historic” event of him being the first black president than what his policies were.
Now I refused to vote for a man that attended a Racist church for 20yrs and did not denounce that church until it started hurting his political career.
I refused to vote for a man that has spent as much time campaining to be president as he did in the senate.
I refused to vote for a man that has no experience in leadership other than “community organizer”.
I will not bad mouth the upcoming term though, mainly due to the fact that NO ONE knows enough about him to know what he’ll do. We are not in a depression right now but we do have an ecomonic crisis to take care of.
I have said to many, I hope he becomes the next JFK and turns this countries economy around and not the next Jimmy Carter and make it worse.

All I keep hearing about is that Obama is the first black President elected. Well you all have it wrong because he is NOT the first black President elected BUT the first BIRACIAL President elected. He IS BLACK & WHITE!!!
The thing that bothers me the most is that so many people around the United States voted for this guy to be the next President. However, I bet the majority of them did not know any of his dirty little secrets such as; his Muslim background and connections, the fact that he WILL NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance, OR show ANY reference to our flag. So when other people are standing with their hands on their hearts as they recite the Pledge of Allegiance, he REFUSES to do the same and turns his back to the American Flag. To top that off, he also had the American Flag removed from the 757 plane that he was using for the campaign BUT this is the type of President that everyone wanted in office.
Finally, he doesn’t wear the American Flag pin because and I quote from his own words, “It has become a substitute for “true patriotism” since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.” I’d like for him to explain that further to so many people who lost loved ones during that horrible attack on 9/11. The Flag pin was a symbol of remembrance so that we would NEVER FORGET what happened on that day. But this is the type of President that everyone wanted in office.
I understand that this country needs a new direction and I totally agree with that. However, I personally would rather have seen Colin Powell, who has so much more experience, in the White House than Barack Obama, who is very questionable when it comes to running our country. I must respect the fact that Mr. Obama was elected and I will be looking forward to see just what kind of change he makes because actions speak louder than words.

In Obama, we have a single individual with an uncommon heritage and multiracial worldview. Born of a black man and a white woman, he shares two races, biologically.

Having spent a good part of his childhood outside the US, he understands the “outside” view of his country. In Obama is a conglomeration of broader spectrums of the human experience that you can hardly find in many Americans.
McCain does not offer anything new to offer if elected – the same old strategies of “bomb” to every problem in the world. He is completely against peace-making and has said he would never sit down to discuss with US enemies without pre-conditions, yet it is this same arrogant posture that has turned so many nations against the US today.
Obama, who has a better, multi-dimensional experience of the different tendencies on planet earth, says he would not give pre-conditions. I support that whole-heartedly.
America always wants to be feared as the no-nonsense bully, but that will not win her global respect. Significantly, experienced former foreign secretaries such as Madeleine Albright and Henry Kissinger (who advises McCain on foreign affairs) recently said on CNN before the election that the US would have to discuss with “rogue regimes” without pre-conditions.
That, to me, makes a lot of sense. The arrogant, standoffish American attitude has not worked lately. It was diplomacy that halted North Korea’s nuclear project, and it is diplomacy, not bombs, that will end Iran’s.
How many wars can the US fight simultaneously? The war in Afghanistan is still on. Iraq has cost Americans billions and billions and billions of dollars, thousands of lives and many allies, yet not one gallon of chemical weapon has been found in the country many years after the misadventure.
While McCain would insist on bombs at the slightest provocation ought to worry American voters. When will Americans finally accept that there is a difference between winning the war and winning the peace? I certainly cannot see anything near a peaceful world in a McCain presidency.

Marie, its good to know that at least you are willing to give him a chance to see what he can do…but as for as him being BLACK & WHITE….there is no such thing….it was determined years before you or I…that if a person had a “thimble-full” of black blood in their veins, they are considered BLACK…and thats the fact…if he could be considered WHITE…then why is he labeled the first “black” president?????…why? because his is BLACK…his White mother does not allow him to take on the title of a White man…thats just fact!!! You see back in the day, any black blood was considered to “taint” / “ruin” white blood that was no longer considered pure once tainted by black blood…you see once white blood mixed with black blood it was no longer pure…once a black would swim in a pool, the water had to be drained, it was no longer clean, once a black drank from a water faucet, it was no longer sanitary…I could go on, but I hope that perhaps you have a better understanding as to why Barack H. Obama is BLACK!!!….but also know that over 60% of his votes came from WHITES..and White America should be proud that they have taken the first step to look beyond the color of the skin and see the content of a man’s character!!!
To all those that continue to say he was elected based on his race and no qualifications…well Bush was elected on his NAME with no qualifications…he rode on the shirttail of his father he got a free ride off RR….the difference with Bush #2 and Obama, is that if Obama doesn’t have the answer he has the smarts and the ability to call in the masses to get the right answer…whereas Bush just took shots in the dark and thought that he knew what to do and we all learned that he actually did nothing…I actually voted for Bush #2 the first time around….but soon realized that he was not qualified for the job….its one thing when you may not know how to build a bridge, but have the smarts to call in the right players to build that bridge…and Pres-elect Obama has the intelligence and wisdom to bring in the right players to get the job done…give him a chance and we’ll all be the better people…
Russ, do you you really attribute 8yrs of no attacks to GBush?….its no attribute to him, but rather the security activated by Home Land Security…..what we can attribute to Bush is the knowledge he had of 911 prior to attack and did NOTHING….if there should be an attack on US, we can not attribute that to Obama no more than we could had McCain became the president. As Christians we need to be praying for our Commander in Chief and not withhold our prayers with a hard-hearted attitude of “lets just watch him fail”…but rather we need t lift him up and keep him covered in prayer…thats what we as Christians are to do and not just stand back watching and wanting him to fail..just so we can feel good when saying ” I told you so”…its sad that so many want to be proven right than to see this country progress…where are the American Christians?????

It’s so interesting reading all the comments on this blog. It’s amazing to me how uneducated people are. I haven’t seen but a few democrats on this blog even write something intellegent. The chic that keeps blogging “you lost” how old are you? We started out a Christian nation (whether Republican or Democrat)and look where we are now. We’ve come a long way and yet we’ve fallen far from our roots. It’s both a shame and exciting. Listen, the facts are out there about Obama and what he votes for and what he believes in/religeous peferance and if you’re too lazy to educate yourselves that is something you who did not and do not will have to deal with later. There’s a saying where I come from “he who laughs first, falls the hardest.” Where did he get his money for all he’s done? Is he muslim? If he is, what do muslim’s believe? If you think there’s a seperation from church and state, the reality is, there isn’t! He will make deciscions based upon his beliefs, as we all REALLY do. Those who actually do read the bible and studies the word of God can see the potential here for him to “the anti-christ”. And if he is of another faith than the one who is the father/God of Abraham, Isacc, and Jacob the bible clearly states he is an anti-christ whether he is “the” anti-christ or not. But let’s face it, We americans have fallen hard if we have put a man into office who doesn’t sallute our flag, or respect our country. That is the biggest insult and slap in the face to every veteran and soldier fighting to KEEP our freedom. By choosing Obama we have told every american their soldiers blood being shed to help others and to keep our freedom has been in vain. And if you want to talk about New Orleans. Everyone was told to leave and get out but NOOOOOO! They wanted to stay and then got mad because they suffered the consequences of their actions. And then we gave them HANDOUTS in which lots of them squandered. If the bible is true and God is light, truth, lawful, understanding and wisdom and you take God out of anything, what do you have left? What is the opposite of those things? Darkness, lies, lawlessness, confusion. Look around that’s exactly what we have not only here but around the world. We have now chosen the rise and fall of america as we know it. If he continues with Iran, we now have made an enemy of Isreal. Which for those who read their bible is biblical. “EVERY nation will come against Isreal” These things have to happen for Jesus to return. “It will be as the days of Noah”. Wicked and unruley. It can be both scarey to see it unfold and know that the end is near and yet exciting to know that our earthly pains, and hardships are almost over. people had soooo many different reasons for voting obama into office. for some, it really was about race. if you don’t understand that, you don’t understand much about human nature.
i know two black people who didn’t vote for him. yes, there are blacks who didn’t want him to win. they voted independent. i also know three caucasians who took great pleasure in voting for him. these five voters are all people who looked at what was being promised and saw different things.
please face the fact that blacks alone could not have helped him win this election. blacks are roughly 12 to 14 percent of the population. if you viewed any election coverage during the rallies, you would have seen that there was a heavy turnout of white supporters.
it is unfortunate that fear still distorts our thinking when it comes to electing a president. there are many who would have cheerfully voted mccain into office, knowing that all he has for us is a continuation of the status quo. they would choose him as our president, knowing that our economy would not improve under his leadership, very aware that (if they’ve looked into his past) he has a volatile temper and a history of making bad decisions, not the least of which was the choice of sarah palin as a running mate. and they would have done this strictly to avoid having a black president.
for those who have mentioned tax increases, obama’s intention is to raise taxes for those who can afford to pay higher taxes: the wealthy. the increases would take the pressure off those of us who are suffering the most during this nasty economic disaster. mccain’s tax increases would have kept the big money where it is and put even more of a load on the have-nots. is there anyone here who can tell me there isn’t something wrong with that? if you can, maybe you’re one of the have’s and want to protect your portfolio. understandable but hardly laudable.
his pro-choice stance just makes sense. if you think that abortion is wrong or sinful, don’t have one. that’s what pro choice is about. i was horrified to hear sarah palin say to katie couric that if a young girl is repeatedly sexually abused by a relative and is impregnated as a result, she should give birth to the child. i’ve still not gotten over that. abstinence, while a good and honorable undertaking, works against the most natural urges of human beings. while i may be wrong about this, i think palin is also against birth control. but that’s not even an issue in the case of a child whose body is being violated by a rapist.
the best thing any of us can do is give obama a chance to do the job he’s taken on. it’s only fair. and it’s no more than any of us would want under the same circumstances.
I’ve been reading the response from our “left leaning” friends talking about how those of us on the right refuse to even give Obama a chance. I wonder if they were this vocal when Democrats refused to give President Bush a chance. Or perhaps they were doing the same. I do, however, agree with them. We need to give Obama a chance to do well. And I sincerely hope he does, even though I was hoping McCain would beat him. I want to see a united country.
But, while I don’t support rushing to say he is going to be the worst, I also think it’s foolish to proclaim him as the best before he’s even sworn in. I hope he is the best. I will be so happy to be proven wrong.
But, Democrats remember this. If you feel Republicans are acting like sore losers, you may want to think back on how YOU acted when Bush was elected. At least the Republicans did not shout about a “stolen election”.
There was no shouting about a stolen election because the election was not stolen! So I guess you’re saying that everything was on the “up and up” in 2000 and 2004? Misinformed. If there were any irregularities with this election, I would be the first one to cry for a recount, eventhough my guy won.

To kickitback007, I would think that ANY person, including Barack Obama, would embrace their heritage 100%…there is no such thing as a person being just Black when they also are made up of another race for that fact. I think people just want to hear that he is the first black President, when in fact he is more than just being part black. Therefore, I will always see Barack Obama as Bi-Racial and there is NOTHING wrong with that at all!! It’s just a shame that he along with others is not willing to embrace their heritage.
My kids are both bi-racial (Asian-American) and we raised them to be proud of who they are. After all, isn’t that what our Country is all about?? We have become a huge melting pot for all races and we should stand side-by-side each of our brothers and sisters.
He should be treated like a new drug. Do not endorse or sell the drug(Obama)until it(he) is tested so we don’t end up with a Chantix® situation.
