I Guess Smart People Don’t Buy The Messiah’s Lies On Guns
Posted on November 7, 2008
Despite Obama’s attempt to shift his position on gun rights – OK, he flat out was lying about what he really believes – quite a few people aren’t buying it. Instead, they are buying something else
Sales of handguns, rifles and ammunition have surged in the last week, according to gun store owners around the nation who describe a wave of buyers concerned that an Obama administration will curtail their right to bear arms.
Mr. Nelson said sales at his store had risen about 30 percent since Mr. Obama declared his candidacy. “People are concerned about overreaching legislation from Washington,” he said. “They are educating themselves on the Internet.”
In Colorado, would-be gun buyers set a one-day record last Saturday with the highest number of background check requests in a 24-hour period, according to figures from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
Based on Obama’s actual voting record and talk prior to becoming the Democrat presidential nominee, people have a right to be worried. Looks like Obama’s comment about people clinging to their guns and Bibles out of fear has become a self fulfilling prophesy. Only it is Obama who brings the fear.
Of course, it might be dangerous writing the same thing in a few months, since it will probably be considered a hate crime.
More: Just put in my application for a handgun permit. Only those with good moral character need apply in North Carolina, so, safe to say not many Liberals will be approved, especially since there is also a clause about mental illness. LOTS of people applying in Wake County, and there were plenty of people at a gun shop in Raleigh looking specifically at hand guns. Personally, I am leaning towards the Walther P22. Only a .22 Caliber, but, not expensive, and fits my hand very well.
Crossed at Pirate’s Cove, where guns and swords are always welcome.

As Malkin and her commenters point out there is some strange stuff going on at Change.gov which may violate the .gov TLD requirements.
Also there is a section on the site dealing with conservation and hunters.
Well that is the method BHO used along with the Joyce foundation to put more and more control on guns under the cover of being a conservation agenda which was totally a lie and their whole objective and all the spin off groups they created was a full bore anti gun program.
Trojan horse attack on guns under the cover of conservation.
NRO had an article on the Joyce Foundation and Obama
Obama was named a director of the Joyce Foundation in late 1994, and remained in that position until late 2002.
During Obama’s tenure with the Joyce Foundation, donations to anti-gun groups increased dramatically. For example, in 1997 and 1998 the Violence Policy Center received $221,000 and $360,000 from the Foundation; those grants and donations increased to $1 million in 2000 and $800,000 in 2002. In all, during Obama’s tenure, the group received $15 million from the Joyce Foundation.
The Violence Policy Center, despite its name, never seems all that concerned with beatings, stabbings, immolations or explosions. No, they’re completely focused on gun violence, and they can effectively be called an anti-gun or pro-gun control organization.
Lest anyone think I’m mischaracterizing their objective analysis, note that their web site touts themselves as “the most aggressive group in the gun control movement.” Also note studies like their one from 2000 entitled, “Unsafe in Any Hands: Why America Needs to Ban Handguns,” which declared the idea that the Constitution would forbid a national handgun ban a “pure myth.” Also note the organization’s subtly-titled book, Every Handgun is Aimed at You: The Case for Banning Handguns.)
