I donate to church, my husband and I volunteer at several organizations. I think Sen. Obama is misunderstanding what Republicans believe. He thinks we are selfish and what we really believe is that the government is not capable of handling our money and using it for the right things. Look what the government did with social security. Those you put in to SS thought that we would have something when we retired. Instead it is now taxed (again), given to people who never paid in and transferred in to the general fund to be used for things other than what it was meant to be used. It is our mistrust for the governments decisions and not selfishness. Republicans do not like big government. It is not that I am selfish.
