McCain Takes Lead in Zogby Poll

It’s a shocker for sure, but Drudge says Zogby puts McCain one point ahead in Friday’s one day polling.

ZOGBY SATURDAY: McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday poll. He is beginning to cut into Obama’s lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all…

Who knows if it means anything, since Gallup gives a gain to Obama with an eight point lead, but it is nice to see for a change. I’m afraid to announce it, cuz I’m sure it is somehow racist.

I’m with Ed on the drinking.

Lisa Schiffren wonders…What if it’s really close?

Obviously, since he’s leading with men(obviously white men, since 80% of the black ones are voting for Obie), Blue collar workers( again, white), and Nascar voters. Let’s face it pal, you’re a racist.

  2. Gudrun Eussner on October 31st, 2008 11:37 pm

Here you find some Obama supporters. Have fun!

  3. Jay on October 31st, 2008 11:49 pm

It seems no matter how hard I try to be color blind and judge people for their merits i end up racist anyway. I give up.

  4. Jane on November 1st, 2008 1:43 am

Yes, McCain is leading. Zogby, the only pollster who got it right last time.
Joe the Plumber plus the “spreading the wealth” Marxism does not sit too well with the folks.

    GO JOHN

Also Sarah Palin is a huge draw and loved middle America.

  5. Mimi on November 1st, 2008 2:28 am

I am glad, we can’t grow the country with higher taxes and redistribution of wealth. We can only grow the ecnomy attracting investments and everyone to pull their own weight. It will be the worst time to adopt Europe’s socialist model.
    Go McCain-Palin!

  6. Mike on November 1st, 2008 2:47 am

Why is that the only article on drudge w/o a link? Why can’t I find that information on Zogby’s website or anywhere else for that matter? The only thing I find is Zogby having Obama up by 7%.

    Post something close to fact.

  7. Jake on November 1st, 2008 2:59 am

    This is a joke
    What’s next ?
    McCain wins!!
Joe the Plumber for Secretary of the Treasury!
The only place the McCain and Palin families
belong is The Jerry Springer Show.
Obama will get at least 350 electoral votes and 53% of the popular vote

  8. Scott Bolli on November 1st, 2008 3:02 am

That’s funny – I just checked Reuters and CNN/Zogby has Obama ahead. By seven. On October 31st. Mike’s right. The rest of you are wrong. So’s Drudge.

  9. The White Octopus on November 1st, 2008 3:03 am

Hate to break it to you, but Drudge is not a reliable source. Its the TMZ of politics i.e. feeds off rumors & lies. Without a legit link, it is clear that Drudge is making it up to give McCain false momentum.

If you are happy with the last 8 years, then by all means vote for John. More of the same, you can’t deny that.

  10. DAVID MATOKE on November 1st, 2008 3:04 am

I cannot Imagine that anyone in their right mind could vote for Mccain. His temper is absolutely unacceptable. He will run any and all his opponents out of town. His running mate is even worse. Remember what she did to her x-brother-in-law.

  11. jeb on November 1st, 2008 3:09 am

Thursday, on the Sean Hannity Show (like it or leave it) Dick Morris said “If McCain can Hold Obama to 48% or less he has a fair shot at winning” barring something unseen happening.

  12. DAVID MATOKE on November 1st, 2008 3:11 am

If a man cannot log on and read his own mail, he should have running for president in the 80s. We tried it with a republican for 8 years. See where we are today.Try a Democrat and if it does not work in 4 years we wll kick him out and put an independet.

  13. Obie Fan 2008 on November 1st, 2008 3:29 am

I just watched Sean “ball of hate” Hannity salivate all over himself announcing this 1 pt. lead of McCain’s.

I went to Zogby’s only to find a 5 pt. lead for Obama. What gives?!?

This sounds like more of the manufactured crap McCain’s camp has been spewing for the last few weeks since they found themselves coming up short. I can’t believe Hannity got so caught up and excited that he didn’t bother to see if the info. he had just received was factual. He literally shouted over Alan and Huckabee to make this bogus announcement.

It shows how obsessed he is with trying to keep Obama out of the White House. What a dope!

  14. Rick T on November 1st, 2008 3:31 am

Roger and Jake, you’re right Obama wins. I’ve already made my provisions for the next four years and he won’t be redistributing my wealth you twits! In fact I’m setting it up so that I can be one of those who pays NO taxes for the next four years and still GETS A CHECK! I’ll be posting everyday though so you morons know that your man is sticking it in you deep….MUHAHAHAHA! Only Carter and Bush Jr will be in his four year inept league!

  16. DAVID MATOKE on November 1st, 2008 3:34 am

Obama will spread the tax burden around, rolling Bush’s tax cuts back on the wealthiest of Americans(5% of the population) Everybody making less than $250,000.00 will see a tax cut. If the word spread the wealth came out of his mouth,I know that he clearly meant tax burden. Everybody is capable of a wrong word coming out of their mouth once in a while. John Mccain referred to his supporters at a campaign rally as “my fellow prisoners”. Is that what He meant? I dont think so. Ms. Venom never remembers something like that. I guess that is what you do when your mind is very narrow.

  18. Stan on November 1st, 2008 3:44 am

HELP HILLARY! OBAMA is a lying loser whose only claim to fame is cavorting with marxists, socialists, terrorists, etc.
Hillary’s statement was that She had a lifetime of experience to contribute to America and that McCain also has a lifetime of experience to contribute to America and Obama has an essay he wrote in 2001.
If Obama wins this election America loses! America loses the chance of Hillary ever becoming The first woman president and the leader that she really is. Like the Lady that she is, she is doing her duty and backing Obama on behalf of the democratic party. If McCain gets in and fouls things up, like he is sure to do, Hillary will have a great chance, in 4 years of fulfilling her destiny of sitting in the oval room of the white house as President of the United States.
I hate to urge anyone to vote for McCain but, looking to the future, it’s the best chance for Hillary AND for our country.

  19. James on November 1st, 2008 3:50 am

Are there any people left that are still fooled by barack and the media?

Yep, you can count me in that column, along with many fellow Republicans who see the disaster that the McCain/Palin ticket represents. I’ve voted for Obama due to my concern my future and the role of America in the free world. Anyone who’s dumb enough to vote for this lying team either needs their head examined or removed from their waste jettison chute, or both.

    October 31, 2008
Gallup Daily: Obama’s Lead Widens Some on All BasesAdvances to 8-point lead among “traditional likely voters”USA Election 2008 Gallup Daily Americas Northern America PRINCETON, NJ — The political landscape could be improving for Barack Obama in the waning days of the campaign. Gallup Poll Daily tracking from Oct. 28-30 shows him with an eight percentage point lead over John McCain among traditional likely voters — 51% to 43% — his largest margin to date using this historical Gallup Poll voter

  22. Randolph on November 1st, 2008 3:54 am

I have checked the zogby site and what I see is Obama 49.1% and McCain 44.1% as at 10-31 While the report as stated above was also made by John Zogby himself. I can see some bias here from this John for that John. No wonder his comments do not hold reference to the data he collected himself. Very misleading. What a shame.

    OBAMA IS THE THE ANTICHRIST?
WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE PEOPLE THINKING…THE SILVER TOUNGED DEVIL HAS BECOME THE PIED PIPER! OUR UNITED STATES ARE BEING MORE COMPROMISED DAILY WITH THE THREAT THAT OBAMA COULD BECOME PRESIDENT! FRANKLY, THAT SCARES ME AND IT SHOULD SCARE ALL WHO ARE AMERICAN CITIZENS. OUR ECONOMY IS NOT THE WORST THING THAT WE HAVE TO FACE. LETS BE REAL….OUR STATE OF THE ECONOMY IS NOT ALL THE RESPONSIBILITY OF OUR GOVERMENT. WE AS A NATION OF SPENDERS HAVE OVER EXTENDED OUR POCKET BOOKS. WE SPEND TOO MUCH ON UNECESSARY “THINGS”, OUR EYE’S ARE BIGGER THAN OUR BELLIES! WE ARE ALL SPOILED, WE WANT MORE, WE EXPECT MORE, AND WE THINK EVERYONE OWES US. THATS BULLCRAP. IF WE DONT START DOWNSIZING AND QUIT SPOILING OUR CHILDREN, WE ARE DOOMED TO REALLY FAIL. WHAT HAPPENED TO MAKING OUR CHILDREN WORK FOR WHAT THEY WANT? VALUES? WHAT VALUES! I PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY’S SAFETY, OUR ECONOMY, AND MOST OF ALL, I PRAY THAT MCCAIN CAN PULL THROUGH THIS ELECTION. OBAMA HAS THE ENTIRE WORLD SCARED TO DEATH IF HE IS ELECTED. YOU SHOULD BE TO.

  24. Lauren on November 1st, 2008 4:12 am

I find this odd since the McCain campaign has not claimed to be ahead of Obama in the polls. Rasmussen is a much more accurate poll than zogby who’s polls have been having a lot of trouble this year. Rasmussen is one of the best polls in the business.

I work for Obama campaign but on the 4/11/08
my vote will go to John McCain.Am no longer comfortable with Obama. He is not answering questions on how he plan to lead America. The media is not helping either.Obama is not even sure about his tax plan. What he said last month
is different from what he and his vp are saying today. He just want us to elect him blindly without knowing him fully. That is why I
made up my mind to vote For John McCain. At least we have known more about them.

  28. tj on November 1st, 2008 4:34 am

No no no,kay Johanson. You are very wrong! The whole world loves Obama, and yearns that ignorant Americans like you would realise the need to have Obama rule that land.By your name,it appears me that you are either a Swede,or that you have your ancestry here in Sweden.Let me remind you that in Sweden,Obama has 91% as opposed to 9% for McCain. The rest of Europe is the same.Obama owns the whole of Africa and it’s plethora of resources, something which America needs so badly today. So which world are you talking about? It would be a monumental error for Americans not to vote Obama in.

  29. Write on! on November 1st, 2008 4:35 am

I looked at Zogby, as I do each day, and I could not find the poll Drudge was talking about. I wonder why? Probably, because there was no such poll. Drudge will lie on his mother to put Mccain ahead.

  30. Rock on November 1st, 2008 4:42 am

How come when anyone disagrees with Obama’s policies they get pegged a racist. He is the most liberal senator in Congress, he has no executive experience, and his economic policy is socialist. If anyone has a problem with his ideology it should be “all americans”, his idea stems from the premiss that hard work pays nothing…..I will vote for the best person, racism has nothing to do with it. Obama can run a campaign, talk a great game, but when one looks at his character, it all stops there……..

  31. John Wayne on November 1st, 2008 4:45 am

Obama is not a Democrat. He is racist who hates all whites, Christians, and everything good in this country. Hell he won’t even salute the flag and he wants to be commander in chief?

He doesn’t even qualify for a standard CIA of FBI clearance and we give him the launch codes to our nuclear arsenal.

The people are finally waking up to this enemy within. I hope it is not too late.

  32. Cabot on November 1st, 2008 4:46 am

AP July 5, 2008 – 550 metric tons of Yellow cake (Uranium) were taken from Bagdad through Canada to the US. Hussein did have a program for Weapons of Mass Destruction i.e, nuclear weapons. Bush called it right, but kept the secret while they got the stuff out so terrorists wouldn’t get it. He took the hit in the polls, was blamed by the liberals for an “irresponsible” war, and yet did exactly he right thing. Go check out the article..your liberal news failed to report it/ignored it because it was a + for Bush. The same way your liberal media backs Obama by 66% and slams McCain. But in truth Obama would not have had the courage to do what Bush did to keep Nukes from the Iraqi dictator. Obama is a smooth operator, but that is all. He has pulled the wool over many Democrats eyes. Wake up and smell the roses, do you know what happens when the House & Senate majorities and White House are all of one party? You have an uncontrolled government with nobody to say “NO”. If for no other reason than protecting the American People from a total liberal Tax and Spend government, you should vote against Obama. Start thinking carefully about it and what the consequences are for the American People if it is a “one party rule” -no checks and balances! I for one do not want America to go socialist and that is where it is heading if Obama is elected. I worked hard to get where I am and don’t need more taxes. Cabot

Very scary thought, but it seems the American people love to give up their liberty to a socialist. I really hope when people enter the polling booth they really think what they are doing when the cast a vote for Obama. If not all one can do is wait four years, because his inexperience will show. I hope that we do not lose our country in the process though….God bless America……

THERE ARE JUST A FEW OF YOU WHO REALLY HAVE DONE YOUR HOMEWORK. EVIDENTLY THOSE OF YOU WHO BLINDLY FEEL THAT OBAMA REALLY CARES ABOUT AMERICA NEED TO DO YOUR RESEARCH. WHO IS HE AND WHAT HAS HE DONE? OKAY, I WILL ADMIT THAT MAYBE McCAIN MAYBE NOT THE BEST CHOICE, BUT WE KNOW HIS HISTORY AND HIS LOVE FOR AMERICA. IN MICHELE’S OWN WORDS, “I AM NOW PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!” WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT ALL ABOUT?? THINK, THINK, THINK. HAVE ANY OF YOU READ OBAMA’S BOOKS? HIS HEART IS NOT FOR AMERICA! HIS HEART IS NOT FOR YOUR (TRUE AMERICANS)INTEREST. IF HE GETS ELECTED (GOD HELP US PLEASE) HIS TRUE SELF WILL BE SHOWN AND NOT BE REALIZED BY THE VAST MAJORITY PROBABLY FOR 3-4 YEARS. THEN WE WILL BE SORRY. READ, RESEARCH, LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD, THERE IS FEAR FOR AMERICA. THERE IS JOY FROM HIS FRIENDS FOR THE DISTRUCTION HE WOULD BRING TO AMERICA. BY THE WAY–WHAT DOES RACE HAVE TO DO WITH IT? HE IS NOT WHITE, HE IS NOT BLACK. HE HAS ALWAYS CLAIMED TO BE, GROWING UP, LIKE HIS FATHER. NOW RESEARCH HIS FAMILY, ESPECIALLY HIS UNCLE FROM KENYA. THE MASS OF DISTRUCTION, DEATH OF MANY WOMEN, CHILDREN THAT CAME AFTER HIS UNCLE LOST THE ELECTION. MMMMM – LETS SEE, OH YA, OBAMA SPOKE FOR HIM ON HIS CAMPAIGN TRAIL. DO YOU KNOW WHAT OBAMA SAID? I am 42 years old, and this election has brought out the most hateful sentiments. I thought President Bush I had brought out the worse in people, but the Mccain/Palin ticket has surpassed him. I am so sick of people using the military to close the deal. People do not think of us until an election year. What I have observed over the last 18 months is this country is dividing rather than coming together. This election year is making me sick to my stomach. I just pray that this country can come together after the elections.

Socialism is an ideology that redistributes weakth for the benefit of those that cant afford “basic needs”.. where as Communism is the end result of utopian thought in Marxian writings….Where government is eliminated, and everyone is equal….This country is a mixed government, with social programs mixed in. The argument lies at the point where Obama wants to redistribute wealth, that is a move towards communism….When a candidate advocates for wealth redistribution he is advocating for deeper socialism, that is a clear move towards Marx’s end game of Communism….Re read your Karl Marx if you are confused….

Obama is not attempting to change the countries faith. He does not care if you are christian or whatever you are. All he is saying instead of people doing things for themselves they have excuses of why they can’t do this or why they can’t do that rather it is your faith or whatever your excuse is. Which is true you say you want change but you not willing to go after the things you want and then go crying to God because things are so bad. I am a Christiam myself but I know God wants you to help you not do all the work for you. To me Obama really means People cling to an ideal of Jesus that Jesus did not have himself or preace. Jesus was all about everybody coming together and helping each other. Also loving one another. Jesus had no use for weapons or things that could hurt people no matter how wrong you treated him. How can somebody use the name of a Man like Jesus that preach love and togetherness to spread a message of hate and separate us from one another. When Jesus message was a message of love. Only thing that makes us different from one another is just ideals and point of views but should never seperate the human race. For anybody to say some of the things that I have seen some say and have the never to say Obama is not a christian need to read the bible again about Jesus and look how Jesus reacted to people even the ones that did bad things. Obama reacts in a way that Jesus would which ALL OF US SHOULD BE doing but don’t but our excuse is nobody is perfect so HOW DARE WE TALK ABOUT THIS MAN and say anything about being a christian .That is why Obama has my vote because I want to see one human race not red or blue or whatever color people decide to be tomorrow. If anybody think this Country will last another 4 years with McCain’s way of thinking has another thing coming. Obama has never called McCain a racist even though his supporters have but McCain has attempted to say Obama is not like us in a indirect way. No matter how you say it or spin it he means race. He knows if you just give ignorant people a little bit of rope they will take care of the rest. Obama has not said John McCain is a racist or attacked who McCain is as a person and trust me he has alot of bad points when it comes to who he is.

Palin is an idiot, and I think your IQ must have a missing decimal point. Obama WAS born in the US, and he is a lifelong Christian. Also, discriminating against someone on the basis of their religion is inherently UN-American. Here’s a little education for you, Mr. 138…Christianity, Judaism, and Islam and fundamentally the same. The differences between them are trivial and formed out of cultural evolution over the past 5000 years, but you probably think the Earth is younger than that, and don’t believe in evolution anyway. I am probably talking to a wall. I am voting for Obama along with the rest of the Meek. You can vote for the scared old man and the twit. It won’t make a difference on Tuesday.

what if AIG has been a faithful steward of their clients monies etc, what if lehman brothers didn’t lie about their ledger cards thru the years etc, what if the general american population produced more and spentless (like early americans did and made america to be a superpower). Americans spent a lot in world war II and the cold war and the spending didn’t even gave the economy a dent coz everybody is producing wealth.

Now everybody wants to have more at a slightest of effort. . . a lot are contented to be out of work and spending american tax payers money without effort – mine me and myself. JF Kennedy’s word still rings true – don’t think about what your country can do to you but what you can do for your country.

No one can really appreciate something if it was not accompanied by a personal sacrifice. I think it is safe to say that Hilary, McCain finds U.S. of America more precious than Obama. The welfare of America is closer to the heart of McCain than Obama. I am more comfortable with a bumbling friend than the mumbo-jumbo of a stranger whose motives you are not sure. MAtt, to interject when on advocated for the redistribution fo wealth that is classical socialism. yes, we like most other nations have a socialist party. But as I hope u know any party that claims to be legitimate, must have power. unfortunately, in America we have a two party system so that power transfer is unlikely. Obama gets pegged a socialist because of his redistributing of wealth comment, valid yes…his studies are based on Marxist thought, that is not bad as I myself understand Marxist principles, but to attempt to transpose them onto America is dangerous…Obama is not a Communist, yet, but the redistribution of wealth is a start.

AIG did not need government bailout due to Bush or McCain. You can thank Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Fannie Mae and all of the other Dem Socialists who forced the financial community to sell houses with zero down to people who had trashed their previously provided govt housing. Then Frank and his buddies defended all the warning signs by Bush, McCain and Greenspan that financially unfit homeowners were defaulting on their subprime loans. AIG and others simply insured those loans through swaps. The Dems, like Obama sold the financial community and America a bill of goods while stealing hundreds of millions.

  150. Tim on November 1st, 2008 6:25 am

Nothing has damaged our freedoms more than the Patriot Act. Republicans have been trying to get that pushed through for decades. The first bombing of the WTC didn’t do it. Oklahoma City didn’t do it. It took 9/11 to get it to go through. Notice they upped the body count every time, testing public sentiment, until they got it right?

ALL THAT HAS BEEN SAID HERE ABOUT OBAMA IS BULLCRAP. HE IS THE NEXT PRESIDENT, AND I DON’T KNOW IF HIS HATERS WILL GO HANG SOMEWHERE. I HAVE ALREADY VOTED FOR HIM, AND HAVE MADE SURE THAT SEVERAL HUNDREDS HAVE DONE SO, WHILE OTHERS WILL SHORTLY MAKE HIM THE WINNER.

  158. Tim on November 1st, 2008 6:29 am

Most people in this country are too naive to believe what our government is capable of. Our freedom seems great, but I fear that it is only an illusion. I don’t see how any of the conflicts we are currently fighting in have anything to do with our freedom in this country.

  159. ben on November 1st, 2008 6:31 am

vanessa,as matt is sayig, obama is not only a threat to the world security but he is a dangerous man,he is a moslem, his family here in kenya is muslim,hi s neglected half brother is hussein onyango.
    mccain represents true leadership

Obama’aunti is illegal alien from Kenya, she has lived QUIETLY for several years in PUBLIC HOUSING in Boston, OMG if things like this related to McCain or Palin, the whole world will be shaken, that’s why left wing dominated media betrayed US in Vietnam war, Iraq war, and now in the election year 2008

  161. nelson on November 1st, 2008 6:32 am

All I can smell coming is OBAMA, President of USA for the next 4yrs.

Stop the mudslinging ladies and gentlemen. Don’t take it too personal.

  162. matt on November 1st, 2008 6:32 am

george, considering the fact we are at war i havent seen to many people having rubber drives and i surely havent seen anyone starving. in fact we are a fat, lazy, selfish, selfserving, arogant nation full of ingrates who pay more attention to the stock market than we do our fellow man. it isnt about who is the better man for you! it is about who will give you more! and that is why we are doomed to fall as a nation.

  164. matt on November 1st, 2008 6:35 am

  165. Rudy Cano on November 1st, 2008 6:36 am

haha: No what I meant is that McCain doesn’t have the balls to be Pres. That if the Republicans would have had a better chance with Palin. Not that I want her for Pres. There’s a little bit more of a responsiblity being the Pres. of the US than being a mayor of a town with 7000 people and being a Governor of Alaska for less than 2 years. Even though she probably looks good field dressing a moose in red pumps. I know now I’m being a male chauvinist pig. Hey that’s just me!!! I’ve already sent my absentee ballot I voted for OBAMA!!!

  166. Tim on November 1st, 2008 6:36 am

We are not at war. These conflicts are engineered by the Republican Military Machine to create nationwide fear, suspend the Bill of Rights, and enslave us all. George Orwell was a visionary. OBAMA is going to win!!!!

  167. matt on November 1st, 2008 6:38 am

i think the good thing is Amaricans are getting tired of people trying to tie Mccain to George W. Bush (Our commander and chief). anyone with a brain knows they are nothing alike and Mccain has apposed the presedent more than he has supported him. and the war was needed! War is the only way to subdue the enemy of freedom sometimes, get over yourself!

  168. Tim on November 1st, 2008 6:39 am

It is a testament to the greatness of this country that we can actually have this discussion. If McCain wins, it will probably be made illegal.

“Pity the nation of the self-righteous; for it is they – and not their titular, dilapidated leader – who both confound and amaze, astound and dismay – friend and foe alike with their labyrinthine web of words, consisting of gems of verbal inexactitude”. Ok…I just made that up, and it makes no sense at all. Which is good. To prove a point. Matt…you’re clearly an under-intelligent, overly-loud, clearly self-righteous, bumbling idiot; who relies on bluster to show himself as being of intellectual substance(its a pity your poor spelling and syntax show you to be anything BUT). You mentioned Iraq. Please head there, and see for yourself how “liberated” the country is. Also, get some sort of pulse on what they think of their US “liberators”. Secondly, the US economy is in a hole. The continuity of flawed Republican fiscal policies under Dubya, for eight unbroken years is clearly the reason for that. A propagation of the “we’re under siege” mentality, and years of deceit, chicanery and lies, have affected US security (both internally, and in the world at large) and reduced it to a shadow of its former greatness. America is less secure. It’s poorer. It’s much less liked. And for a non-American, non-Christian, non-Caucasian like me, that in itself should (logically) serve as a sufficient catalyst for change. It’s a pity that there are people like you (who purport to be educated, learned, and opinionated), who rely on vitriol and fear-mongering to perpetuate status quo, which has been so damaging to the US and its citizens. Best of luck in the elections, toots.

  178. Tim on November 1st, 2008 6:45 am

Oh, now we get into the voter-reg thing…

Daffy Duck could never be registered to vote no matter how many times his application was submitted. There is a verification process. Bogus applications get thrown out.

Kathy, you are so ignorant. You argue like a little infant! How can you read Obama’s books, followed his speeches and yet you still can’t deduce his personality,or better still, you still have such an apprehensive view of him because he is different? I can see that you simply want to assist in lowering America into it’s final resting place. If you love America as you scornfully claim, you would wish that the country travel a different road.

  180. matt on November 1st, 2008 6:48 am

not at all tim, but the fact is illegals and minorities who overwhelmingly do not pay income tax are the ones who you owe your presedent to. if you are on welare you should not be allowed to vote! obama will emediately natinalize every mexican in the USA and that will destroy the power of the conservitive movement. i have nothing against any individual, no matter what race they are, but when 2 3rds of our prisons are filled with minorities and illegals are running us over i WILL speak out, while the politicaly correct can ignore the elephant in the room.

McCain really did his homework too! He admitted that he barely knew Sarah Palin before selecting her as his running mate. He was totally blindsided by the fact that she turned out to be nothing more than a pretty face who would drag his campaign to failure.

  184. matt on November 1st, 2008 6:52 am

    GET THIS RIGHT:

OBAMA COULD NOT BE WHERE HE IS IF WERE IT NOT BY THE POWER OF GOD. GOD HAS BROUGHT HIM THIS FAR AND PLACED HIM IN HIS CURRENT POSITION. THEN WHY SHOULD SOMEONE OPPOSING HIM OPEN HIS MOUTH AND SAY ALL NEGATIVITY AGAINST HIM? HE SUPPORTS JESUS CHRIST, SOMEONE SAYS HE DOESN’T, HE IS FOR AMERICA, SOMEONE SAYS HE ISN’T.

DEAR FRIENDS, LETS LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS AS THE LORD JESUS TOLD US. JUST IMAGINE THIS; WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN TO YOU IF HE HAS THE FULL SUPPORT OF GOD, AND YET YOU ARE SPREADING PROPAGANDA AGAINST HIM WHICH YOU KNOW OF COURSE IS NOT TRUE? THEN, WILL YOU BE IN GOOD BOOKS WITH GOD?

Ignorance continues to spew on this blog. You don’t have to be educated, undeducated, rich or poor for that matter. Everyone on this blog has obviously made up their mind about who they are going to vote for. I urge those who are planning to vote against Obama because of the Republican talking points (that he is a socialist, terrorist, and etc.) to look at his plan for taxes, the economy, health care, education, defense, and etc. so you can see for yourself that America will be in good hands and he is not handling America any different than past Presidents just with fresh and new ideas for the 21st century that work and it is not too late to make the right choice for President. Obama will be a good President and for those of you who think he won’t, have him impeached then. Don’t the rich people know that they can keep and have all the money in the world but if the middle class can’t afford their goods and services then the economy fails (hello, kind of like it is now) and the money that they worship so much will be worth nothing (the dollar is depreciating by the day). Obama is proposing a tax cut for the middle class so that they can afford to pay their mortgage, afford healthcare, afford to buy gas, afford the wealthiest of Americans goods and services, afford to buy groceries, send their kids to college, and etc. etc. Who do you think is responsible for a healthy economy? A thriving middle class, duh. I will talk about Joe the Plumber because he is dumber than a box of rocks. See how good his plumbing business (you know the fake one) is when can’t nobody afford his services and they run out to Menards and fix the problem themselves, what a dummy, vote for McCain if you want to. What got us into the mess we are in is greed among the wealthy and the only thing they didn’t consider is that all the money in the world won’t be worth anything in the depression they are putting us in. Oh and what is wrong with having a Democratic Senate and Congress, maybe things will get done and it wouldn’t be so much gridlock. People need to have a little faith, do you think any of our political leaders, Democrat or Republican, want to see America the best country on Earth fail? We have seen what the Republicans can do, now let us give the Democrats a chance to try to put us back on the right track otherwise their butts will be out of there in the next elections! God bless you all and God bless America.

  190. matt on November 1st, 2008 6:56 am

Palin is very smart, and if Mccain looses it wont be her fault. and if he looses she will be the choice in 2012. the contoversy here in Alaska is over her having her husband in closed meetings. sounds pretty smart to me. she counts on her husband’s advice, as any marriage should operate. she is a product of charachter assasination by the liberals. and here records havent been sealed like obama husains! what does he have to hide anyway?

  199. Oz on November 1st, 2008 7:04 am

WOW… All I can say is WOW. I read these blogs and only one thing is clear. America is in a whole lot of trouble. The only thing I see is a lot of people who are only focused on attacking each other without being truly informed. We just go at each other escalating the charges of negativity and how Obama will ruin us because he is this and McCain will ruin us bedcause of that. NOBODY wants to focus on how to make things better and NOBODY is willing to sacrifice anything to help one another out.
We make claims of racism, sexism, socialism, war mongering, religous intollerance, anything we can to oppose one another! We act like two seperate fan bases of hated football rivalries. Guess what people? Football is just a game and we act like that…We cannot do this with our REAL lives!
People are really ignorant if they think Obama will take everything from us or McCain will destroy us in war! NO politician can do this to us we can only do it to ourselves! When are people in this country going to wake up and realize how blind we have been?
The dirty little secret to the power of the politicians is that THEY need us more than WE need them! We have forgotten what it means to be true americans! This is OUR country not theirs! But as long as they keep us fighting we are distracted from the truth. If all of us could get together and focus long enough on what really matters we could change things! As long as we hold on to our petty fears, spread misinformation, refuse to listen to other people, and keep our minds so closed, they will win. Remember this always “You cannot kill what you did not create”.

This whole argument is moot. McCain is not ahead, he gained a bit (not nearly enough to lead) on Obama, and now has lost that small gain. This is from the main page of Zogby as of 11:12 GMT Nov 1:

    Released: 11-01-2008
UTICA, New York — Republican John McCain made a small gain against Democrat Barack Obama and has pulled back within the margin of error, now trailing Obama by five points, 49.1% to 44.1%, the latest Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby daily tracking telephone poll shows.

  207. matt on November 1st, 2008 7:14 am

  208. 2burmdad on November 1st, 2008 7:15 am

    good morning –
One of the craziest threads so far, and all overnight. Aren’t most of you sleep deprived, drunk (given all the spelling errors), or just plain brain dead?

For the latest polls, go to http://www.realclearpolitics.com where you will find all the latest poll results. Don’t rely on one furball’s rantings. Seems like the overall numbers are pretty firm, and that barring some seismic process during the next 84 hours, Obama will win the Presidency.

Like every other President, he will face some sort of challenge that he did not face before as President. Silly McCain commercial. He’ll do well, as he has the temperament (unlike McCain’s bad temper), innate intelligence (didn’t finish in the bottom 1% of his college class), and the sense so far to pick a VP running mate who will complement his skills (unlike McCain).

Will he be able to do what he hopes to do? Don’t fear as the “Red Dog” democrats will keep any program acceptable to most political conservatives. What we will see is a trend in Washington to the average person (and my taxes may well go up – that’s the small price of a better country), and I suspect that most of you will economically and socially benefit like you did in the Clinton years when we balanced the budget.

We need to reestablish the US manufacturing and overall labor market. Perhaps this is isolationist in a way, but the pendulum needs to swing that way. Folks will need to be willing to pay somewhat more for goods made in the USA so that they, their friends (as in “My friends”), and neighbors will have decent jobs and the ability to pay for their necessities. We need to put some real clamps on debt without the ability to pay, as the result over the past several years has been more and more purchases of products made abroad, and the whole crazy housing and mortgage implosion.

Just some sane thinking as the sun rises in the East Coast.

  209. Edge on November 1st, 2008 7:15 am

Impartial observation (my last one before leaving): The quickest way to spot in a scroll, exactly who is going to vote McCain / Palin is to search for capital letter, poor spellings, and multiple exclamation marks. For example…”THE TERRORISTS ARE COMMING (sic)!!!!!!”

  210. matt on November 1st, 2008 7:16 am

as for my grammer, my laptop keyboard is messed up, figured the smart ones could understand it though.

  211. D on November 1st, 2008 7:17 am

What’s with all the moronic McCain backers who don’t know how to disable caps lock? Or are they doing that for “effect”? OH MY GOD IF YOU VOTE FOR OBAMA IT WILL BE THE END OF THE WORLD!!! The end of your world, maybe… the end of your delusions and paranoia about “marxism” and “terrorists” and “Muslims” and “black people coming to take away your money” or “liberals coming to take away your guns”, or whatever the nutjob rant of the week is. One thing I’ve noticed is that no matter how far behind a Democrat is in the polls, they almost never resort to such childish behavior, sleaze, and Chicken Little-ish panic and paranoia.

I actually do believe the entire system will collapse if McCain wins, but you don’t see me typing in all caps and trying to scare the crap out of conservatives. I figure, it’s a free country… if McCain wins the popular vote in a democratic election, more power to him. That’s the way it works, folks. You don’t get to go all revolutionary just because your party is losing in the polls. Get a grip. As for gun control, I don’t honestly believe that Obama is going to take anyone’s guns away… but maybe he should. It’s frightening to think that some of these modern-day McCarthy’s, right wing militants, racists, and Christian Coalition “crusader” lunatics actually own weapons! Stupidity is the ultimate weapon of mass destruction.

  212. matt on November 1st, 2008 7:18 am

If Palin and Mccain can go over 10 seconds without the name Obama coming out their mouths in a negative light then I think they may actually win one or two states….negativity on a daily basis is not the direction we need and its not presidential..

  217. Vanessa on November 1st, 2008 7:25 am

Ok, I have to respond to the comments directed at me. You can’t scare me with the Iraq comment. I don’t have to go to Iraq to know and understand what is going on over there. I am forever indebted to our Armed Services for EVERYTHING they have done for not just mine but for ALL of our FREEDOMS, let’s make that clear. Our troops are over there fighting a war based on a lie by the Bush Administration, they are the ones to blame and I pray everyday that God bless our troops and America and lead us in the right direction out of Iraq and bring our good men and women HOME where they belong with their families and friends!!!

As far as nobody knowing him a year ago: this campaign alone has went on for two years so where have you been??? I was channel surfing the TV in 2004 and I stopped on a channel and watch a young man walk out on the stage of the Democratic National Convention and I was intrigued so I listened to what he had to say and I listened to a young man give a speech about America, this great country that we live in and it brought tears to my eyes and it inspired the crowd as well as myself and the man giving that speech was Barack Obama (you should look it up on the internet, just type in 2004 Democratic National Convention and Barack Obama). So for those of you who say he wasn’t known a year ago, your ignorance is showing and I HOPE that you don’t only get involved in the political process when there is a Presidential election, you need to stay informed on the issues and be aware of who the political leaders are from all parties, Democrat, Republican, Independent, Green, Constitution, and etc. etc. And for those of you who direct a comment at me, you don’t have to be educated but be informed.

  218. Used2bdemocrat on November 1st, 2008 7:25 am

Why did obama go to Hawaii to seal his birth records? Why cant America find out anything about obama? Today we find thre is another relative of obama living illegally in the USA. I, just like Al Quaeda, endorse a McCain Presidency. A morally and spiritually bankrupt nation will certainly go the way of the Holy Roman Empire. McCain will continue to waste our economic treasures and your children in the Middle East. Al Queada is here and they came in on Saudi Arabian visas and passports. Just like they did the last time. They destroyed the Soviet Union in just ten years of fighting in Afghanistan, so expect to dissolve in the eyes of the world as our position as a world leader wane under the McCain years. Then the people will be ready to revolt and get out from under the thumbs of their financial masters. Finally, a peoples revolution. I say “Four More Years!”

There is a reason only 1 democrat has lasted more than 4 years since FDR and it is simply, after they get in office after all got in promising to cut taxes, the reality was Taxes went up, Jobs went down! and 4 years later they all said “WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING !!!
GO Republicans, It is you who have created most jobs and opportunity for all over all ! The Dems just play on peoples fears and weaknesses!!!!
But I will admit the media has done a wonderful job convincing most that George Bush is the Devil! The media realizes that most folks are controlled by what they see on TV and will not research the truth or our history !

John McCain is not a “war hero”. His service record reads like a reality television program of surviving multiple crashed airplanes, only one in actual combat, the bombing mission where his aircraft was shot down.
Compare that ignominious record to the service records of the men that were on foot, their entire tour in-country. Slogging through the paddies and the jungle daily to take the war to “Charlie”, following orders and longing to get back home alive.
Mr. McCain’s prisoner status is suspect, also. The level of care he received, in the prison hospital, was exceedingly better than the men in the dank recesses of “The Hanoi Hilton” received. He, is after all, the Admiral’s grandson and the Admiral’s son. Growing up on Lockbourne Air Force Base in the 50’s and 60’s, as one of seven children of a “lifer” TSgt, I learned the power of the Base Commander’s son.
Mr. McCain had clean sheets and the best Chinese and Cuban doctors to tend his injuries. It is not a mystery why he wanted to remain in captivity, with the rest of the men in the Hanoi Hilton. He had a cakewalk.

It is easy to see that I am far and away superior intellectually to you, or anyone else that would vote for the racist, socialist, marxist obama. My vote, along with millions of other patriotic democrats, will count heavily towards defeating obama, just like the states he lost in where a real vote was counted and the blacks and ignorant whites that want something for nothing didn’t outnumber us. It will be different in the GE. I will be watching election night, reading my bible and not a koran, all the while admiring my new AK-47 that I will use if idiots like you riot when McCain wins.

I fear my last post was misunderstood. The political process is broken and needs repair. The vocal minority is the voice heard most often in Washington. Politics as usual cannot be repaired until we the citizens vote and stay involved. That will keep the pendulum in the center, not on the right or left.
Whoever you support, get out and vote. Discuss your differences in a civilized manner and then maybe everyone will get something as the middle ground is the best for all of America.

  229. marrissa on November 1st, 2008 7:58 am

I am more scared of Nancy Pelosi than Barrack Obama. Obama is a puppet for the Democrats. His policies are most likely what ever the Democrats told him to say. In truth , HE doesn’t have experience to be the President. In four years….maybe. I really don’t have a preference for the next president, my life won’t change THAT much. However, neither Obama nor McCain can fix this in 4 or even 8 years. Someone has got to lay the groundwork which can be carried on further than eight years from now. Both parties should work together, even better, do away with the party system and work for what is right for America, not what a “party” tells you to do. As for Canadian healthcare, it is not all that great.

  230. 2burmdad on November 1st, 2008 8:00 am

True, we don’t appear to have Obama’s undergraduate college records or class standing, but he was admitted to one of the more challenging law school programs. You don’t get into a graduate program from the lowest 1% of your undergraduate class (unless your dad or family endowed the college, and of course, the only way McCain got into the Naval Academy, was through his dad — gee, doesn’t this sound familiar — didn’t W get a big boost from his dad?).

Continuing, while in law school, Obama was selected and respected to be the editor because of social and academic skills as a very young man. McCain appears to have had documented mishaps as a young officer. With all respect to his deprivations in VietNam, he did rather volunteer for it, and because of it, he did not serve as a leader in it, and has no leadership experience, unlike Colin Powell, to call upon to lead the military end of this country. Actually, he has a one-sided heritage that has drawn the family to war and carnage. Patriot, my foot. The patriots are the conscripts or volunteers of any war where we have been attacked at home or on the high seas, and who have defended our country, and not invaded other countries at the political whims of our presidents (and that sweeps in both Kennedy and Bush – which means VietNam and Iraq — we didn’t learn).

You Obama haters (if I can use the term) will need to be polled four years from now, and honestly say if you are better off. Don’t opine now.

The spiritual aspect of this election has mostly been lost on those believing a man who is NOT a Christian is going to be the “salvation” of this country. Idols such as greed, from the top down to the “average” person and sex worship (porno, etc.) and yet more idols, are and have been the undoing of our country based upon the judgement of God Almighty. Say and mock what you will as in the days of Noah but God is building an “ark” for those who have ears and hearts to hear Him and it’s NOT the organized church but the “chosen few from the many called ones” that are conforming to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. has anybody even thought about the fact that polls are useless and extremely inaccurate.

do you know why democrats usually have higher poll ratings? it’s because the democrats are sitting on their a** at home available to answer the phone and the republicans are at work.

examine obamas speeches a little and you will find that he tends to contradict himself in his own speeches. what he says at the beginning of the speech can’t mesh with what he says towards the end of the speech. maybe people haven’t noticed because they just don’t understand the world and laws well enough to realize that what he says is a contradiction to itself.

nobody knows what they are getting with obama, because he is just playing to the crowds. he says what people want to hear him say. most of what he says he wants to do does not match with what he has already consistently done. such as… he says he will lower taxes, yet every time a tax increase came up for a vote, he voted for the increase. he recently said that he supports the troops, yet he voted numerous times to deny them the money they requested for proper armor and weaponry. how much of our soldiers blood is on his hands for that action.

oh… and as far as the war goes… protest all you want, that is your right (a right which is protected by our military), but DO NOT EVER disrespect our troops.

Hmmm…..its interesting how topsy turvy this world is becoming! Clearly all these Obama supportors have not read his books. It really hurt to contribute to Obamas income in purchasing such books but I felt it was necessary to complete my deliberation in who to vote for. I don’t understand why people care what other countries think about our political choices…last I recall, it is up to citizens of the USA. Hmmm… I think the system so far works pretty good for this supposed poor to middle class black man to have the education that he has and his opportunities thus far! So I am trying to see why he wants to change it. BO states he loves this country….so lets change it!
Why is it not ok to question his associations? Why is it not OK to question so many sealed chapters to his life including the sealed documments about his place of birth?
Why is OK to hang an effigy of Palin but hang one of BO and you go to jail?
How is it that L B Johnson (Dem) privatizes Fannie Mae, Clinton, changes tried and true morgage and lending practices and Republicans are now blamed for all the bad results?
Why is it that if you look up all these big bad corporations and lending institutions….they give the most $$$ to Dem campaigns.
Why are people shocked at 14 Billion in profits to a large global oil company who employs so many people and we get so much research and development and so many products from them not to mention the large taxes to soon be paid by all their shareholders….but we don’t see a problem that one man can raise 1 billion dollars in a short period of time just to throw away on a Presidencial campaign and we don’t even question where it came from and how it is used?
Why are Dems allowed to have there say without wackos protesting their conventions etc…. but Rep have to put up with wackos trying to squash their constituional right to assemble and free speech.
Usually the wackos fail to adhere to the laws of lawful protest and are then sent to jail rightfully and its all the reps fault. Yes there are rules and laws to a peaceful protest.
Lets see..Palins brother inlaw…she cant win…if she had done nothing( which by the way last I heard he is still there)..the discussion would be her abuse of power in protecting an ex family member who clearly broke so many laws.
Lets see…i get it….the femminist movement is suppose to be about women putting up with cheating, womanizing men so we can use them for their power because we are soo powerless(Hillary)….we are to be penalized for actually being a working mother from a good marriage, raising as many children as we wish in this free country, god forbid we could then actually care about the state of our country…run for office make our case and actually to effective and accomplished.
I am a 50 yr old Mexican/American female who lost her father at 18 due to a heart attack…1 failed marriage…then off to tons of student loans and CC debt to become a doctor. It has taken me 16 years to pay back every penny lent to me…and I have paid it back. I now have to look forward to someone telling me that I have to share the wealth with those less fortunate who as I see it refuse to work more than 1 job if they have even tried to find one. All this while a bunch of hollywood actors who make obscene amounts to $$ are never questioned and are revered more than the doctors pastors firefighters etc from our communities.
    Have I left anything out?
    Oh yes….GO John and Sarah!!!!

  244. Dave the Window Guy on November 1st, 2008 8:29 am

I hope to reach out to anyone considering voting for Obama in this election for a discussion on the real issues of the campaign.

I’m concerned that there seems to be very little real discussion of issues in an election filled with buzz phrases and sound bites and a media that covers up as much information as they can about the candidate they have chosen.

    That’s lame.

Barack Obama has some very scary friends. Felons, bombers from the 70’s, anti-Semites, socialists and racists.

For my friends who think these are racist statements I would humbly refer you to Thomas Sowell, a leading black activist who can better articulate the reasons for a longer harder look at Mr. Obama. Know that race is not an issue for most people who are intelligent. If however you are black and voting based on race, not issues then….well, does that make you a racist?

Perhaps a look in the mirror will tell you if you judge men, specifically these two men, “not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”. (Martin Luther King Jr.
    )

My reasons for questioning Mr. Obama’s motives and associations is only because I love my country. I love the troops who fight for us and our safety. And I love our ability to succeed without being controlled by the government.

I’ll be glad to have a dialogue with anyone who would like to discuss this further.

Ask yourself if you deserve to keep more of your money when you earn it.

Ask yourself who will have a strong hand with our enemies.

I would remind you that there are large groups of people who seek only to kill Americans as the end goal for their lives.

Vote to support our troops, to preserve our safety, to make our government smaller, and to keep more of the money we earn.

I think you should decide how to spend your money instead of some millionaire. Taking money from people who work hard, to give it to people who don’t work as hard is socialism.

Karl Marx said “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need” That is redistribution of wealth. It will destroy our country because it will make jobs tougher to find for poor working people. The poor will suffer the most.

I never got a job from a poor man. You will not get a job from a poor man. If the government takes peoples money then those people will have less money to pay for the help they need to do the jobs they do and to fund the companies they own. Many will go out of business in the first year.

I have three employees and I pay them around $132,000 per year. If taxes take $30,000 of my $280,000 labor budget, one of them will have to be fired. It’s doubtful that I’m going to absorb a $30,000 hit. Someone gets fired and prices of my products will have to go up.

Everyone suffered so the government could take my money and give $500 to the guy I just had to fire. I’m sure he’ll be grateful to have that the first week; the second month may be tougher.

No wonder Obama doesn’t say anything about illegal people – he has an illegal Aunt living in public housing in Boston. I wonder how many other illegal things he is covering up or at least not bringing to the surface. This seems typical for Obama. And another change he will change his opion (at least he says he does) when it’s in his best interest ie: Rev. Wright, Ayes & numerous others who are really bad people & whom he supported previously. How can we believe anything he says when he can drop people he has been associated with for years????

Just poll the people of Cuba and see how they like the “redistribute the wealth” system. Is that why they risk their life to get out of there. People keep harping on Bush, well, Bush isn’t running and John McCain is no Bush. Everyone seems to forget the fact that the Dems have been running the country for over 2 years and see where that has gotten us. If you don’t vote for Obama, you are racist, yet the majority of the blacks are voting for Obama solely on the fact he is black (or half anyway). Seems like a double standard to me. I have no objection whatsoever to a black president, just not THAT black president. If I wanted to live in a socialist country, I would move to Cuba. Ask your black friends why they are voting for Obama and 99.9% of the time you will get the answer “because he is the best”. They are totally clueless on the issues. I have many black friends and they all say the same thing. No amount of facts will change their minds. If you people voting for Obama get your wish, then you deserve what you get. It’s just too bad the rest of us will have to do down with you. God bless America.

“I never got a job from a poor man. You will not get a job from a poor man.”

Rich men need poor people to buy their basic necessities like food, energy, clothing.

    FACT:

If you give a poor person money, they are going to SPEND it, they have to in order to survive.

If you give it to a Rich man, he may spend it, save it, or invest it, he has more options.

There is no guarantee as we have seen in the past 8 years that the Rich 5% will invest in more jobs, particularly jobs in AMERICA.

You people need to do your research and discover how many jobs from these wealthy corporations were sent overseas to workers who will work for only a fraction of the cost of American labor. But yet they continue to force the product on American consumers, so therefore their net profits get bigger.

Do the simple economics= Low wages=High profits, High wages=Low Profit, GOP taxbreak for taking jobs overseas === EVEN HIGHER PROFITS!!!

So as you idiots can see, these profits didn’t trickle down to you, they trickled down to cheap factory workers in China, India, Mexico, just to name a few, that’s where your jobs are going.

OBAMA is the only candidate offering incentives for corporations to bring jobs back to America.

Why they never talk about the tax break he offers corporations who CREATE JOBS.

McSame wants us to ASSUME jobs will be created with the tax breaks, but that has yet to be proven during the past 8 years.

  250. Shawn on November 1st, 2008 8:40 am

Please do your homework and research. You will learn that the Democratic congress, Clinton, and Carter landed us where we are today with some help from the Republicans. Bush is not running for president. I guarantee that we will not see 4 more years of Bush. McCain’s voting record does not support Bush’s agenda. Check it out. Learn about the Community Reinvestment Act (Democratic legislation). The same people Obama has surrounded himself with are the ones who profited from the B.S we are dealing with now. How many favors will he owe his Arabic connections for the 300 million in campaign funds? I don’t like McCain, but Obama gustapo techniques scare the hell out of me. Most Obama supporters can not provide a valid reason for voting for him. They either cite charisma or anti Bush reasons. So much for an educated public!

  251. Sandra on November 1st, 2008 8:40 am

Reading blogs on this forum, it’s interesting to see the divergent views on the up-coming U.S elections and the candidates.

I notice an impression has been created by a ‘Ben’ who purports to come from Kenya that we are for Mcain. Well, the last time I checked, Kenya, just like a majority of other countries around the world, that have seen the effects of the Bush administration policies and bully tactics over the last eight years, overwhelmingly support Sen. Obama. For me, my support for Obama has nothing to do with the fact that he has roots in Kenya.

Watching both candidates articulate their policies and plans on the campaign trail, it is not very hard to see that it is a simply choice between the status quo or the much needed change.

Kenya and the rest of the world will not be voting but trust that Americans will be able to decipher the propagandas, fear-mongering and out-right lies that have been and will still be peddled and perpetuated to shift focus from the main issue of this election, which is, what has the eight years of Bush presidency brought Americans? America is less safer and so are Americans around the world. America has sunk deeper into economic woes,

At this critical time, America needs a president, who is level headed and who is going to serve as a unifier. Someone who will not be held-hostage by the lobbyists and special interest groups but one whose main agenda will be to work for the betterment of the lives of all American people and to restore America’s image as the world power, from whom other countries look for inspiration and guidance. Remember, the world is now one big global village and alliances and bridges must be built for any progressive country.

I hope that the undecided voters will not need so much more convincing to make up their mind and in the process take an important step in shaping the future of their children and children’s children.

Lastly let me take this opportunity to recognize Edge and Vanessa and a host of other forward thinking and progressive blogers, whose articulate contributions are wonderful to read!

    God bless you all!

I just want leaders that will do the right thing and stop lying. I refuse to be a sheep led astray. Obama’s people are already concerned about the extreme hype they have generated and are now beginning to back pedal and lower the hopes of their stupid followers. Obama is a socialist liar and deceiver. If he gets elected, those of you who voted for him will deserve everything you get and it won’t be pretty.
And by the way lefty, clean the wax out and listen. McCain WILL NOT raise taxes! That is part of his economic plan you idiot. Obama’s plan to raise taxes will throw this country into a serious recession and likely a depression.

And by the way, character does matter. You are known by the company you keep. If any of you care for this country, you better look at the rest of the world where socialism is practiced and then ask yourself ONE question, why are so many people trying to get into our country? It’s because we have a free and democratic system, NOT a socialist system. May GOD Bless America and John McCain.

    Matt
It seems that you have been the one brainwashed and YOU don’t know it. You obviously dont have a 401K because mine plummeted 47% over the past 6 years. You probably don’t even own a home because the value of my home plummeted 22% over the past 4 years. And as for my rights, they have been trampled by the “Patriot Act” which is the last thing but Patriotic. Did you know that you can now be held in jail for over 7 years and not have to know why? Your family may not even know where you are? Yes this I would believe is a LOSS of freedom. No I can’t have Starbucks coffee since I have now become unemployed again (as of yesterday). This would be the second job due to downsizing of these companies in the past 6 years. One company had over 140 employees, now they are down to 20. The other was 75 people, and they thinking of just going out of business.
The scariest of all things is a comment from a co-worker this past weak. “If McCain is elected the coming of Jesus will soon follow”. Yes she is another fundamentalist who has been brainwashed.

By the way anyone scared about their wealth being re-distrubuted should really not worry unless you are making over $250,000 a year. I know I don’t need to worry as I am not making any money now. In regards to health care so what I get $5000 towards insurance, but it will cost me over $10000 to insure my family, so where is the savings. For those with low intelligence, the math would be that I still have to dish out $5000 dollars for healthcare.
I am part of the American Dream that we all so desperately seek. I have been working since I was 14, and I have put myself through college, and although I have a Master’s degree I have found myself with out a job twice in these Bush years. I am the last person to take a hand-me-down, but it irks me when the top 1% of America holds all of the wealth and yet they want more. The last time that all the wealth was consoliated at the top was October 1929. Yes the beginning of the Great Depression.
My suggestion to those looking to vote McCain, take a look at your life 10 years ago, and then take a look at your life today. If there has been a significant loss in your yearly income (this would be 72% of America), then vote Obama.

As a lender, I watched these loans to those who could not afford them pile up year after year. When the banks tried to raise the red flag, Frank, Dodd, Shumer, and the democrats warned of penalties being levied against the banks if they did not make these loans. In fact, with the clout acorn had with the democrats, every major lender had to hire a Community Reinvestment Officer to monitor that the banks were doing everything possible to push these risky loans. The officer for my bank was from Chicago, (acorn) Everytime the banks brought the problem up the democrats would call foul and state there was nothing wrong with the system. The democrats have created this mess. That is one more reason, that as a democrat I have voted for Mccain this election cycle.

Why would anyone want to see their country go down the tubes by allowing illegal aliens to enter the USA? Even if they are related, does that mean they are also illegal’s? If one would condone this then they are more than likely just another that wants to get something for nothing from the gov., not to mention they are probably not an honest person to begin with. To compare one who does not want a litany of illegal’s flooding the USA to one who would turn his relatives in to the authorities as communist shows this person to either be an illegal himself, or one that has no knowledge of the laws and history of the USA. I am against anyone illegally in this country. They need to come here legally, period. America is in for a difficult time, the pot is boiling. One can only hope that when it explodes that all understands what side they shall be for.

Sarah Palin is starring in a remake of “All About Eve”, why the hell did McCain ruin his campaign by picking someone so shockingly unqualified, uneducated, divisive, preaching about some “tired washed up terrorist” from 40 years ago, its the SAME OL’ POLITICS, they are TIRED, it is boring, and although I agree with McCain on most issues, this was the dumbest stunt I have ever seen in years. I will not vote this election and I know lots of moderates and independents who are doing the same thing. By Pandering to Fear, to hate, and to the ignorant underbelly of the right wing who are uneducated and scream everytime they hear the word “Patriot”, McCain LOST THE ELECTION BY SELECTING THIS DIVA WHACKJOB CALLED SARAH PALIN. AND I LIVE IN ALASKA. I KNOW SARAH PALIN, ONE WORD: BOO!

  260. Patrick on November 1st, 2008 9:12 am

    Dave the Window Guy,

I started reading your post because you want to see “discussion of issues” in the campaigns but you then immediately launch into the silliness about Obama’s “scary” associations.

As far as the “spreading the wealth” buzzword goes, I want to see it. Our wealth is spread around all the time. The Bankruptcy Reform Act was a $9 BILLION windfall to the predators of the financial world, MBNA and the other credit card companies. They successfully lobbied Congress to RETROCACTIVELY change their contracts with tens of millions. It is their damn job to assess risk and charge appropriately. They knew the bankruptcy law when they so aggressively pursued bad credit risks. But they cried and whined to Congress that people must be held responsible (except for them). So our government reduced the risk for them only and increased the risk and burden for the consumers because the change in law covered debt already in existence, not just new borrowings. They got to keep the full rate they charge even though the risk has been slashed. Plus, we, the public, get to help them collect their debt through the court systems that we finance. Sweet deal. Ever dealt with MBNA or their ilk? Slip up and pay ANY bill late and the rate can jump to over 30% thanks to elimination of usury laws. Do you remember the congressional hearings about their predatory practices this past summer?

Here is what the conusmers ultimately got, higher rates. It was another “trickle down” argument. The argument in enacting the law was that this legislation would help stabilize credit markets and result in lower credit costs for everyone. The market stabilization and lower rates never happened. Pure gift of $9 BILLION.

Guess which industry is heading for another crisis.

It’s not that I want socialism, I want an end to fascism and the manner in which wealth is spread.

in the year 2000 gas was under 2 dollars. i remember bush’s words it was all name calling. he said the democrats where big spenders/ called them liberals/said full of sin/ he said what ever he thought the repulicans sponges wanted to hear. he sure proved who was the biggest spender,he took the most vaction time of any president.two months ago mccain said the economy was strong all that it needed was tweaking around the edges. and he still keeps the republican way of name calling. his whole campaign has been lies and drama, im a white male who is a lot closer to being black than donald trump and i dont mean by the color of my skin.WE CANNOT AFFORD TO LISTEN TO ANY MORE CANDADATES WHO BASE THERE WINNING ON NAME CALLING. all three debates mcain kept calling names, look at arnold schwarzenegger yesterday called him scrawny. thats gets so old. florida has lost a record 400,000 home forecloseure just one state. a lot because of gas and greed of gas, look at gas now after two hurricanes its going down, hmm maybe election. if gas stayed where it was or where it is right now, i bet those homes wouldnt be an issue just normal forcloseure but everything has doubled when gas doubled EVERYTHING!!!! i dont know how you can think of voting for mcain when he sounds like bush with just his name calling.

Probably not, since it shows here that every post you have attempted to post are filled with incorrectly spelled “simple” words. Most of the time a sentence begins with a captial letter. But oh, I’m sorry…you did have a PHD right..GET REAL. If John McCain wins the world would allow idoits like you to think a high school diplomia reallys means a degree from a accredited college. As a voter who is registered as an independent, I listen very closely to both candidates. Both have very strong positives as well as some strong negatives. No one is perfect. I look to others to (as in this forum) help me make up my mind. Thanks to all of you, I believe I may have found my answer. Very compelling arguments for both candidates. About Palin and Biden, I am NOT voting for either one. Each, I am sure, have good and bad points; but again, nobody is perfect. In a situation that may require that one of them become the president (and I pray not) I think both would do an adequate job. This what makes America great…the ability to disagree and have your own opinion. Freedom rocks!

The following is pasted from http://www.zogby.com/main.htm at 9:30AM EDT 11/1/01:

Pollster John Zogby: “Is McCain making a move? The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama’s lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all. “Obama’s lead among women declined, and it looks like it is occurring because McCain is solidifying the support of conservative women, which is something we saw last time McCain picked up in the polls. If McCain has a good day tomorrow, we will eliminate Obama’s good day three days ago, and we could really see some tightening in this rolling average. But for now, hold on.”

I could write a book on reasons to not vote for Obama having nothing to do with race. Maybe men tend to look more at fact rather than being taken in by a smooth-talking shyster who’s record and books contradict everything he says. If you want to consider racism, why don’t you read Dreams of My Father or Michelle’s college thesis papers – they’re loaded with it.

Maybe blue collar workers concerned about jobs would prefer a tax policy based on sound economic principles rather than Marxist ideology, which has been repeatedly proven to fail in practice.

It’s disappointing to read these comments. The terrible spelling, posting paragraphs worth of bile with caps lock on and no punctuation, begging the question, ad hominem attacks, the list goes on.

I would have gladly voted for McCain in 2000. He could have been the president that prevented the attack on the twin towers, instead of Bush being the president who allowed it to happen. But, as time goes on, McCain has changed. He used to not give any deference to special interest groups like the NRA and the entire demographic of conservative christians. Now he bends over backwards to please them. He has a dismally low attendance record in the Senate on certain issues, like the environment. I want a president who shows up to work, and doesn’t take as much vacation as the last one. He’s admitted to not knowing enough about the economy, and he hired a man who called us a nation of whiners to be his chief economic advisor.

He’s already showing signs of age related dementia, and will most likely have to resign in the next term. And when he does, he would have left a woman in charge who has no capacity to lead or make real executive decisions. You say that she was a mayor and a governor. That’s fine, but when she was Mayor of Wasilla, she took a town of under 10K people that was “in the black” and gave it 22 million in debt. She built a sports facility that didn’t have the infrastructure to support it, and didn’t even have a clear title on the land. To this day, the matter is still being litigated over. So whatever experience you claim she has is dwarfed by the incompetence she has shown in that time.

All you offer in the way of arguments against Obama are fear, hate, us vs. them tribalism, and shallow character attacks. No real details.

  276. BonnieBehave on November 1st, 2008 10:02 am

All of this is moot. If Obama gets in, it is questionable that he’ll stay in for long. The man has already had over 400 death threats and he isn’t even President yet! Not that I wish him any harm whatsoever, I just don’t think his odds of survival are too good.

To the person who said social security and medicare are socialistic…… each citizen pays in to the system and receives back according to what they put in. If one dies before reaching the age of receiving back it goes to someone else, a non-working spouse or children under the age of 18. If there are neither, the gov gets it. If you don’t pay in you don’t receive back. The problem is that the Government borrows from that account to pay for other things whereas if it were private, the gov couldn’t borrow from it and if it were not in place at all, many would never pay into a private investment account thus leaving a huge problem down the road. In times past, as a person got old and they hadn’t socked away enough to take care of themselves, family took up the slack. Primarily the problem with social security could be solved if the gov were not allowed to borrow from it. As it is believe me there are plenty who have never paid in. Hopefully most of those have been responsible and saved enough for their old age or have a responsible family.

  279. Jes on November 1st, 2008 10:30 am

Ah yes, tax cuts. Everyone loves the idea of a tax cut, but how do you expect we’ll pay off our national debt if we reduce the government’s revenue? Taxes ARE the government money. The less we pay, the less they have, and the bigger the spending deficit. We don’t need tax cuts. We need spending cuts. And the first thing that needs cutting is Congressional salaries.

It is nice to see a different poll for a change, regardless of the source. I get so sick of the same old repetitive crap. Polls don’t mean much, as John Kerry found out.

I wonder how many Obama votes will be born of rebellion against Bush, and how many will be carefully weighed decisions. He does have a good chance of wining, and one can only hope that Congress goes Republican to keep some balance if he does. This Democrat-led Congress has a lower approval rating than Bush, so it’s plausible.

  280. Dan on November 1st, 2008 10:31 am

To all of you who accuse Obama of being a Socialist, do you really get it? Do you pay taxes for roads in your state that you will never drive? What taxes are used to maintain the roads you use to get you back and forth to Christian church? There’s probably some Jewish, Muslim, Atheist citizens paying for that. Have you ever voted against a tax increase that funds public transportation, including for the handicapped, only to see it pass leaving you to pay for something you don’t use or need? Do you vote against tax increases to be used to build schools only to see the bill pass, so now you end up paying for something you’ll never use because your kids are grown? And, if you’re out of shape and just want to read the Drudge Report, why should you get stuck with paying for a community rec. center? (You know, encourage healthy physical activity for kids). Are you against paying taxes for firefighters, policeman, or other emergency response services? I guess if your house never burns down, or if you’re never burglarized, or you never have a heart attack, why should you pay for it? And finally, to all out there that have received, cashed and spent, their stimulus checks from are indebted government, why is it so hard for you not to want to pay less taxes? Because it’s socialism. Because its not right that somebody rich who has made their money on, probably, hard working middle class sweat can’t pay more? I guess I have this wrong. Obviously, the people that show at McCain/Palin rallies are the only ones still receiving sustainable pay increases from there boss, firm, or corporation.

  281. AnAmerican on November 1st, 2008 10:35 am

Weren’t these comments supposed to be about the poll in question? How did everyone’s comments get so far away from that issue?

It seems that the majority of you have resorted to slinging insults. Why? Could it be because you are angry that the polls are changing? If you would check the past several elections, you would see that it is a consistent trend. Polls tend to tighten as the election nears.

I believe that the article in question states that it was the latest poll by Zogby. The results Zogby posts are a three day average. A three day average does not show the full effect of the latest poll – its just brings down the average some.

A few other things on polls:

    1. the “Real Clear Politics” poll (isn’t that name ironic) shows that McCain has taken the lead in Missouri.

    2. Folks, check the rwecord. How many times has Missouri picked the eventual winner of the Presidential election?

    3. Zogby was the most accurate of the polls in the last election.

    4. The polls are surveys given to “likely” voters. Who the hell is a likely voter? This election is different and who is to say who is “likely” to vote?

What I am saying is that maybe the arguments people purpose here should focus on the meaning of said polls and the merits of the polling methods.

The religion and race of of Mr Obama has nothing to do with the issue. Granted as a Christian, Mr Obama’s faith is an issue to me. It still has nothing to do with the merits or accuracy of the poll in question. Also, as a Christian, should Mr Obama’s race even be an issue?

Traveling the world? The fact that one is Kenyan? Does this change the poll numbers? If it does, why are Kenyans polled and how likely are they to vote? Why does world opinion matter? Folks this is the United States of America (not the United Nations). World opinion doesn’t carry alot of weight.

I encouarge each and everyone of you to exercise your right and privelege to vote. Regardless of what Mrs. Obama says about our great nation, you should hold your head high and vote. Vote American, not European, not African or world. This is an American election and we, as a people, should vote in the best interest of the United States of America.

God bless you all and our great nation.

This presidential race is like something I have never seen and I’m not a young person. Only in the U.S. could the media and people be so gleeful over a man that has never led anything and has ties with the terrorists plus attended church often with a minister that was so openly biased. Only people that do NOT attend church would know that if you didn’t agree with that voice you wouldn’t have your kids baptized and attend the church at all. Only after much publication did he step away from him. And Michelle – only now that her husband is running for president is she proud of America. She was educated here and most the time people would say, then leave if you’re not happy here. And the issues were not important enough for Obama to vote on much of the time. But people here think he is ready for president and hail him to the fullest. It is nuts! Yes, he is charming and well spoken but that doesn’t mean he should be president.

And on top of that have you ever seen anyone running for President have more ties to terrormongers, anti-american, and terrorists in general than OBAMA does? What is strange to me, is why there are those that want to begin by criticizing another’s grammar or spelling. They go further by stating how uneducated the poster must be. To those, I would say that I know many great and successful people who cannot spell or punctuate properly. They have a high IQ, have knowledge of the issues, and are more than capable of casting an intelligent and informed vote. Everyone has the reason they will or will note vote for a particular candidate. Their are those who will weigh the issues for themselves. Their are those who look at money/taxes as their issue. Some who look only at national security as their issue. Some who look at only the abortion issue. Some who look at only at gay rights. Some who look at constitutional issues. No matter the issue, it is ones right to vote as they want this country to be governed. Hopefully, most will (even if the opinions they write don’t meet with another’s grammar/spelling criteria) use some common sense and vote for the candidate that has the written, visible and verifiable resume/ history that records that he has a free, strong and capitalist America agenda in store for all the people of the USA. Without that person in charge, none here may have to worry about it, as this venue may cease to exist. McCain / Palin 2008

The only thing that we, McCain backers, can do is look at those around us and say, I told you so. We, the U.S. did not put Obama in office, The media did. There is no one more vulnerable to the media than our young voters who think is “COOL” to be against the war and not thinking anymore about it. Yeah, it’s just about that simple.

I AM A NATURALIZED U.S. CITIZEN. I AM SADDENED TO SEE HOW THIS YEARS ELECTION IS COMING ABOUT. I HAVE SEEN THIS KIND OF ELECTION TOO MANY TIMES BEFORE WHERE I CAME FROM AND IT BRINGS BACK A LOT OF BAD MEMORIES. THE GOOD GUY LOSES EVERYTIME BECAUSE OF LACK OF MONEY. MONEY TALKS ALL THE TIME NO QUESTION ABOUT IT AND THERE OBAMA WILL WALK. HE KNOWS THIS AND THAT’S WHY HE OPT-OUT ON PUBLIC CAMPAIGN FUNDING. IT KILLS ME TO SEE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING HERE IN THE U.S. THIS IS THE KIND OF POLITICS (OBAMA IS RUNNING) WE HAVE IN “THE THIRD WORLD”. REASON TO MAKE ME BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE (FROM SOMEWHERE) WANTS OBAMA IN THE OVAL OFFICE AND IT IS NOT US THE U.S. CITIZENS. AS IF I CAN SEE ALL OBAMAS UNANIMOUS MONETARY BACKERS (WHEREVER THEY’RE FROM) SITTING IN A BACKROOM LAUGHING BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY HAVE MANIPULATED MAJORITY OF OUR CITIZENS (THAT’S ALL THEY NEED FOR NOW)AND WE ARE BLIND TO SEE OR RECOGNIZE IT. THEY KNOW IT’S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THEY CAN HAVE FULL CONTROL OF US ALL. I KNOW HOW IF FEELS TO NOT HAVE A FREEDOM I WAS FROM A “THIRD WORLD COUNTRY”. THEREFORE, TO ALL OF YOU…DO NOT GIVE YOURS AWAY.

Question – What is worthier at a working place than a stupid (uneducated) person?
Answer – It is stupid one with an initiative.
I heard about enormous effort to bring for voting the list educated part of populating. I hope they understand what is and what kind of new and transformed America Senator Oboma has in mind. Can we ask Mr. Odoma what other country will USA resemble after his dreaming transformation?

I can’t believe no one recognizes a socialist except those who have previously lived under Castro/Chavez government. People do not realize that spreading around the wealth only gives nominal living conditions to everyone except government. Yea, everyone is equal, but who wants to live by the skin of their teeth. Look at Russia, and when East Germany was separated by Communisim. West Germany was a hell of a lot better off that East Germany. Cuba has gone to the dogs under Castro’s socialist/communist government.

People in the U.S. are so used to government handouts now that it is expected. A lot of people only want the bare necessities and don’t give a flip about bettering themselves. I don’t know of anyone that can’t get help if they truly need it. I have worked in social services, hosptals, and the legal field and in all fields have run into many people who want something for nothing. People no longer have a work ethic as our ancestors had and make no bones about wantng handouts.

Be careful what you wish for with the supposed “government freebies”, as there “ain’t no free ride, free speech, owing guns, etc.” You think it can’t happen here in the USA but look around the rest of the world.

  307. tony on November 1st, 2008 12:16 pm

Some of the fear spoken in here is pure unadulteratd, misguided hype. America is the land of the free and home of the brave. We come through in the darkest moments. Quit the hate of the black man, and the hate of McCain. Only the privledged mindset thinks they have a special entitlement to an office or job. If they truly believed in whats right, just vote, hope your candidate wins, live long and prosper.

We are going to find out soon that a lot of the 750 million that Barry has spent came from sources like the PLO and HAMAS, and Iran, venezuela, and so on.

The first thing he would do if he is elected is pull all of our troops home. Then abolish the second ammendment and send the troops after the gun toting bible holding rednecks like you and me. I think a rebellion is coming. I hope Texas seceeds.

A review of this thread highlights the sad state of intelligence and lack of motivation to discover the truth. The Zogby poll is a three day tracking poll, with the characteristic that it is a three day moving average (a low pass filter). McCain was ahead in Friday’s poll by one point over Obama, a legitimate lead in a sample size of one day of polling. However, to smooth out short-term variations in the data, and provide a more useful estimate, a rolling three day average is reported. I hope this helps. Only one poster to this thread figured this out up until now. It takes no effort at all to just believe whatever agrees with your world view. Based on your performance here, you liberals have failed an intelligence test, and a motivation test. Get the hell out of my country.

After eight years of Republican rule and it’s subsequent consequences I see in reading through the above comments that a very significant number of Americans are a sandwich short of a picnic lunch. It is so sad that even here all this is, is name calling…. Whom I chose whether democrat or republican is a personal choice, and all the information that I have gathered. Do I think McCain is the right choice, not after choosing Palin, I would hope for someone with a little more smarts…I do not think she would be ready to take over the reigns. I do hold a high regard for McCain and admire him…. Do I feel Obama is the anti-Christ no I do not. People are so anxious to vote on what their fear tells them too on either side…. I am a hard working lower class, I drive 40 minutes 1 way in a Jeep that only gets 18 miles to the gallon, I can’t afford to pay for medical insurance because it would take almost 1 whole paycheck to do so, I have a disabled husband that is an amputee.
So I have more important things to look for than who can do the biggest and meanest in name calling…. a recent report of Exxon making the largest profits ever recorded? What sets wrong with that to you? Deciding to get my sons medication or buy groceries… who wants to make that call…. I live this every day… Just so you know I am educated and have years and years of experience in the work field, my children do their chores and we have family discussions it’s the only way to combat the world where it’s at now… I am a christian and believe in pro-life but have seen reasons that could lead to a real reason to have an abortion, would I do it NO and I have had to make that call too, and I was lucky enough to have my beautiful daughter for 4 days before she passed.

As for the comment about another 8 years like it’s a good thing, aren’t we a trillion dollars in debt? $10,537,660,684,400.72 to be more or less accurate.? There is no clear cut right choice so vote for whom you think is best and truly pray for guidance, trust and believe and know God chooses at times the most unlikely of candidates.

hey Dave the Window Guy –

Is this the Repub tax rant? You wrote:
I have three employees and I pay them around $132,000 per year. If taxes take $30,000 of my $280,000 labor budget, one of them will have to be fired. It’s doubtful that I’m going to absorb a $30,000 hit. Someone gets fired and prices of my products will have to go up.

If you have 3 employees as you say, how do you do you get a $280k labor budget. Are you paying $132k per year to each, or in total? Where does your $30k hit come from, other than your imagination. I can see that under McCain’s tax plan, if you pay perhaps $5k for each of your employees health plan costs, and perhaps the same if you are also an employee, then that total of $20k, as additional compensation, will be subject to Social Security and Medicate at 7.65% for about a $1500 hit to your business net income, but where is there another $30k business net income?

This is the same old tired rhetoric that restoring some of the latest top tax bracket cuts are going to result in jobs being eliminated. You, and any other employer won’t cut any employment if you have the business out there.

For “your taxes on income” to go up $30k, assuming that this is a 5% restoration of rates (call it an increase if you wish), this would translate to you netting $600k per year from your business. I doubt if many folks will shed too many tears for you.

You are living in a fanatsy. There is no poll showing McCain leading. I will also prove a point how GOP backers playing with poll numbers. McCain’s own campaign as an example: In battle ground states which are what really matter. Not the national polls. In these states that show Obama leading. McCain’s campaign say’s there internal polls show the race is statistically tied in some states. They just said this about Iowa other day. Or they say the race is tightening. BUT notice McCain’s campaign never say’s they have over taken Obama’s lead in any of these states. Why is that? Well the simple reason is McCain’s campaign is lying and they know they are losing this election. Think I am wrong? Just watch and read the news cycle next 2 days and if you see what I just pointed out. Remember what I said above.

Seems as though everything he does is not good for us! You don’t invade another country without being attacked! I’m retired military and all you military retirees out there if you are republican or not know this is wrong! General Powell left this administration because he knew that as well as other things that came to light to him about Bush. At least six other generals have spoken out against Bush on his actions and not all of them are democrats. As a matter of fact some well known republicans now endorse Obama, including General Powell. Why, because they know MCcain is no different than Bush in his political thinking. MCcain even admittd himself he voted agreed with Bush over 90% of the time more rhan his fellow republicans. Now MCcain claims to be a Maverick of change. The people that really see this country is in terrible trouble and needs to change course will see beyond party lines and the “RACE BARRIER” and vote for the man who has a vision where this country needs to go, the man who isn’t trying to tear the other man down even in frienship which tells who this other man really is. Even if McCain-Palin win, the Congress WILL be controlled by the Dems. McCain will HAVE to acquiesce (sp?) to keep his campaign promises. What the heck does he think he’s gonna get done with Dems controlling the legislation? I mean really, he can’t set the agenda. So let’s be real about this: McCain will have a much harder time moving the country forward the Obama would. I can’t see McCain getting anything don’t as a “true” Republican president. Palin won’t cast hardly any votes to split ties as the President of the Senate. So she will be basically neutered. What do conservatives really think will happen w/ McCain-Palin in charge…honestly??

A quick post, I won’t come back to this redneck site but the insightful, educated and moderate voices of the Obama supporters contrasts so clearly with the SHOUTING, HATEFUL, RACIST RANTING of the McCain supporters that I have to comment. Forget the content for a few minutes and just read each post for it’s tone, reasonableness and willingness to listen to other points of view and there is no doubt that these rednecks have emotional problems that can’t be cured by an election. Even John McCain would condemn the beliefs and expressions of these ignorant fools. These rednecks will be just as disappointed by a McCain presidency as an Obama presidency. They may be McCain supporters but McCain doesn’t support them, even Sarah Palin wouldn’t give these Nazis the hate agenda that they want.

People — don’t jump down each others throats over this. Please just take 10 to 15 seconds to check the link to the Zogby polling site (it’s up above someplace) and read for yourselves that the Friday poll showed McCain pulling ahead of Barry by 1 point. The one day numbers are kinda hiding in the paragraph that is partially down the page — not at the top ! While it is just for that one polling day — the 3 day rolling average (whatever that’s supposed to mean) still shows O leading — but McCain is closing ……….

i am new resident of America, not a US citizen. i spent more than 20 years working in middle east in responsible positions as a 3rd world national. i admire what makes America great. unfortunately, i first saw a weaker america when the CIA confirmed it has no prior knowledge of 9/11. what???? i worked just a few blocks from the US embassy in Jeddah. just few years before 9/11,how many times that embassy was attacked, even at one time the attackers managed going inside the compound? i expected the CIA operatives to know more about plans hatched by Jeddah militants, the way i was told by various Saudi professionals that the US is being planned to be attacked by creating fireballs in different cities and that the white house will be attacked at the same time to kill the president. i was repeatedly told to watch the news on January, but the plan happened late on 9/11. the other plan on that period discussed to me was to add cyanide in drinking water. almost all who carried 9/11 came from Jeddah, and it is known there 10 monhs before. but america has no prior info whatsoever. my short years in america showed to me that americans are generally ignorant how America is hated as the center of infidels and vowed to be destroyed as commanded in Koran. Islamic minds see diplomacy as weak leadership and Koran commanded to make lies in negotiations to forward Islamic agenda. if i am only a US citizen i will vote for McCain to avoid giving muscles to american enemies.

  332. David Hennessey on November 1st, 2008 1:58 pm

OK, I’ll make one last post, GLO you have said it all except one thing.

What if the American voters were REALLY racist?
Barak Obama would be dead not ahead. The McCain campaign would run the George Wallace race-baiting ads of the past. Black citizens would be intimidated by guns and beatings if they tried to vote. Racist comments would not produce outrage and backlash from the public and the media.

We live in an America of change and I find tremendous hope in the fact that the American people are able to reject the worst of our past and still retain our core values. Racism is a dead philosophy but like any Halloween bogey-man it will try to rise from it’s coffin every four years and we must be ready to send it back to the grave. There is no stake that can be put in the heart of racism but it is not the threat to our nation that it once was.

  333. Neal J. King on November 1st, 2008 1:59 pm

    Just two points:

    - The discrepant Zogby result is a one-day poll result. But the main focus of the Zogby site is a three-day running average, which will reflect the two previous days as well. That’s why Zogby is telling everyone to watch the next few days: It could just be a fluke, that will disappear from the next few days of trending.

    - Is there any reason to think that it is a fluke? Well, the day in question was Hallowe’en: It’s quite possible that many people with kids might have been occupied in one way or another and not able to answer the phone. That would throw off the interpretation quite a lot.

Zogby is right: We have to wait over the next couple of days before taking it seriously. And even then, there is the question of whether or not the trend shows up in other polls.

  334. Ken Weaver on November 1st, 2008 2:07 pm

Some people just can’t believe that Obama is the man for America. I am clueless as to what proof has been provided that supports this claim of Obama consorting with terrorist. Also are you people so distrustful of our political system that you believe our leaders would allow a socialistic terrorist to be elected to our Congress. If you ask me both parties dem/repub use misleading ads to persuade voters. My problem with mccain/palin is that they got into personal attacks and slanderous lies. That was the turning point for me. I can not support someone who is so mean spirited as to imply that his opponent is in cahoots with terrorist. I do not consider myself a repub or dem. I vote according to whose policies best mimick my own views. I would just like to say shame on both parties for not sticking to the issues and giving us a campaign with some substance. They did not talk about immigration at all during this campaign.

Only after intensive processing does it become low-enriched uranium, which can fuel reactors producing power. Highly enriched uranium can be used in nuclear bombs.”

    2burmdad.

I’m sorry if i wasn’t too detailed in my analysis.

    The company does 600K gross
    320 goes to materials.
This leaves 280 to labor and all other expenses. I think of this as “labor” but it’s actually simply “what’s left after materials”.

It is however what I have to work with. It is mine. I can sell less and install windows myself if I choose to, but I choose to keep nice people in a good job.

I am less stressed and actually better paid when I have fewer employees but real growth as a company requires being good to the people who work for you. My company has grown 20% per year since 2000. I was just another carpenter. Now I have a reputation and something that may grow into a real asset, not just a job. Perhaps even something my son can own someday in my absence.

    Back to the breakdown…..

132 to goes to the three employees leaving 148.

Office 15k, utilities and phones, internet etc 6K
insurance for vehicles company etc 9K. This leaves about 118K
Truck payments run 14,400. We’re leaving about 103.

This is all there is for advertising and growth, for training a new guy or covering a mistake. This represents the amount I then get to keep if I don’t grow. In the world I live in I spend about half of that making the company one of integrity and quality no matter what the problem is, and trying to advertise cost effectively. I get to keep 50 or on average for myself and my family. We are a family of 6 with a stay at home mom.

Obamas health insurance tax will hurt me but what is of greater consequence, is that his tax policy hurts people who have real money. Consumer buying is 70% of the ecomony.

I don’t know how many of you buy windows but as a rule my customers make above $200K for their household. Taking money from them to give to my employees, or even me for that matter won’t help keep us working. A robust economy that allows earners to earn and spend at their discretion is far better for me even with a taxable income under $50K.

Any tax hit to that structure will result in one of those 3 guys loosing a job. There’s enough money here to support the 4 of us but not enough to “re-distribute wealth” to some others who may be less productive. If yearly sales drop just 5% due to taxes on my customer base I’m out 30K. I’m sorry I wasn’t clearer.

My question to you is: “Why do you think some people would ever be entitled to someone else’s money, no matter who they are or how much they make?”

Have we conceded the statement from Marx?
“From each according to his ability, to each according to his need?”

  340. Jerry on November 1st, 2008 2:34 pm

I’m amazed at the sheer number of idiots who can’t comprehend simple polls.

The 3-4 day rolling average still has Obama up up by about 5 points. The ONE DAY poll has McCain up by one point and is not BS but simply a ONE DAY snapshot.

If you people can’t understand that then you shouldn’t vote.

I have read that Obama has spent nearly 7 times as much as McCain on this race, and it’s still close. That tells me that the general public is not fooled by Obama’s promises to fix everything. I’m surprised he hasn’t promised to cure baldness!

The race is a lot closer than the Obama supporters including the media say. Read this comment by Zogby himself if you spent any time on the site.

    John Zogby:
“In this instance, polls don’t predict, they are like taking a photograph. As we do more and more photographs it becomes a moving picture, and we might suggest where the trend is leading. But with the rise of so many independent voters, we have many more last-minute deciders, many of whom make their final decision on Election Day. My hunch is that this election will stay close until the very end, but then it will break big one way or the other. I think the burden is on Sen. Obama. If he can persuade the electorate that he represents leadership for the future, he has the potential to win in a landside. So many states are close and can go either way, including some that have previously not been competitive. On the other hand, if Obama cannot make the case, Americans will probably rely on the man that they know better, and in that sense McCain can win in a landslide. This is the scenario that occurred in 1980 when Ronald Reagan faced Jimmy Carter. Once Americans were comfortable with Ronald Reagan, he won in a landslide.”

In the last week of the race, the media and most polls had Jimmy Carter with a commanding lead. But the public knew better.

And I have a feeling that is what is going to happen this time as well. I really believe McCain will win. And the one day Zogby poll showed he is gaining. I wouldn’t be surprised if the numbers close more in the next few days.

You people are just so ridiculous.
Its the same as in Venezuela with chavez, people wanted a change and look where the change got them. Obama is Osama, its gonna kill everyone who does not agree with him.
    crazy people.

These rightwing conservatives are out of thier minds. We will have a once in a lifetime statesman as our next president. Finally we the American people hope that campaigns will now be about issues and not about personal attacks. We have a Abraham Lincoln type once in a lifetime canidate or a same old, same old, canidate who can’t even remember that we are citizens not prisoners. See his latest speech. VOTE OBAMA

I don’t know how many of you realise this but i have never been able to work for a poor man who could afford my salary. It’s less than 40k a year. Oh wait a minute that’s right i’m considered poor in this country and i live in a rural area. But wait a minute Obama’s tax cut will get me more money. Wait still again, he has to push that through congress and i seriously doubt it’s going to be what he says it will be by the time it gets through our democrat controlled congress, our do nothing and blame it on Bush congress. If we would like a fresh start in this country, PLEASE THOSE OF YOU IN NANCY PELOSI’S DISTRICT VOTE THAT WOMEN OUT OF CONGRESS SO WE CAN GET A SPEAKER WHO WILL ACTUALLY TRY TO GET SOMETHING DONE IN A NON-PARTISAN WAY.

  347. joe on November 1st, 2008 2:49 pm

I’am a Texan for Obama. People are correct in thier views of Texas. Highest dropout rate in the country. Very uneducated population. My children had to be educated at private schools, as the public schools here have the worst teachers in the nation. This state will always vote for the uneducated canidate. It is the way that they are raised. Ignorant parents, ignorant children and so on and so on. Great economy if you are looking for a 5.00 a hour job. Maybe now we will see CHANGE for the Texas worker no more freebies for business owners and right to work policies for workers.

christian and Republicans believe that your rights come from GOD, there fore no government can take them (as do most true Dem’s)

socialist and Islam believe your rights come for the government!! there fore they can take them!

its time for a 4 party system get the socialist out of the democratic party
ant the neo-cons out of the republican party

McCain can run as a Republican
Hillery can run as a Democrat
obama can run as a socialist
Huckabee can run as a neo-con
and every body is happy and u know what your vote is really going for.

You know… you can have a face lift to fix the signs of age, you can have a nose job to make you look prettier and you can go on a diet to loose wieght. But you can’t fix stupid. There is no need in argueing over things with the stupid people that vote for OBAMA. They don’t see things with a patriotic heart. If they did they would see that McCain has done more for this country than Obama will ever do. They would also take in concideration all the negitive things being said about Obama in the news thats points him in the direction of socialist. If it was only one thing that might be differant but there are several things coming to light about this man we don’t really know. They would also have the safty of our country in mind when they vote. Would you have ever immagined that there was someone out there that hated us so much they took years out of thier lives to plot and exicute an attack on our country? What gets me is that it happened, Sept 11th 2001. Did it stop there? Are we in danger of being taken over by the enemy? What better way to acomplish this but to start a race war, use our weakness against us. I urge everyone that its not too late. We don’t have to hand over our country. VOTE MCCAIN/PALIN on Nov. 4th COUNTRY FIRST!

  351. geoff williams on November 1st, 2008 2:56 pm

Dear John and everyone else who is saying that it is a lie that the Zogby poll shows McCain taking the lead for the first time,

Go to the Zogby site and read beyond the headline. The main poll is an average of the last three days. Zogby himself stated that on Friday McCain took a one point lead over Obama.

God loves America and is hearing the prayers of the believers who are praying that we will not have to endure a president Obama who refuses to properly hail our flag during our anthem–who wants to negotiate with the murderers of thousands of Americans (9/11)—who wants to financially decapitate those who are employers (I make well under $250,000 per year but understand that those who make more are those who make jobs)—who wants to take pressure off the terrorists, allowing them to reorganize and plan attacks on us that will make 9/11 look like a picnic.

To those who have even the slightest love and feeling of patriotism for our great country: Keep praying!! have faith!! the McCain comeback is real!!! its going to happen!!

    Cricket

First of all, try turning the caps lock off.

Second, most of the folks receiving welfare and other freebies from the government vote Democrat and always have. Republicans tend to work for a living.

Third, if there has been any cheating this time it is Obama with Acorn. His campaign has donated over $800,000 to Acorn. Now why would he do that? Acorn’s purpose primarily is to register those who do not usually vote, minorities and the poor. That is a noble cause if it was done properly and ethically. Unfortunately, Acorn is being investigated in at least 14 states for fraud. Some folks are registering multiple times under multiple names to try to vote multiple times. At least 90% of the new registered voters by Acorn are Democrat.

Obama’s campaign knows this fraud is going on and financed it heavily.

Yet another reason to vote for McCain who kept his promise to only accept public financing. Guess which candidate lied?

  354. joe on November 1st, 2008 3:01 pm

Well aware that Abraham Lincoln was a republican. I am a independent. Great men come from all party’s, colors, and backgrounds. Abraham Lincoln would never, ever fit in with this vile, right, conservative republican party. Like I said a once in liftime statesman for us. OBAMA.

  355. Dave on November 1st, 2008 3:05 pm

    OBAMA ROCKS!!
I earn less than 250k and I don’t mind if O bama raises my taxes. Taxes are necessary to pay for services and programs that will improve the quality of life for everyone. A little socialism is not going to harm America(look at Canada). If fact, the US, Canada, and Mexico should become united under one economic system so we will a greater competior on the World Stage. A few things I would like to see in Obama’s first four years: Free health care, legalized same sex marriage, the end of the drug war, increase in the minimum wage, mandatory 5 weeks vacation for all US employees, ban all hand guns, take religion out of politics. Obama is awesome, so if you don’t agree, please move to another country and never return!!

  356. JW on November 1st, 2008 3:09 pm

Geoff, I’m with you 100% brother!

Hey, and that $250,000 has already come down. I watched the Obama 30 minute special the other night and Obama has already lowered it to $200,000. No explanation of course, I guess he believes Americans are stupid and won’t notice. And this should be a clear warning to us, he is not to be trusted to keep his word. And I’ve read, but can’t confirm that Biden has used the figure of $150,000 in his recent speeches!

These guys are playing America for suckers. They promise anyone who earns under $250,000 will receive a tax break, and then just days before the election reduce the numbers!

Yep, this is what you are gonna get from Obama if you are stupid enough to vote for him. Good luck suckers!

If Mccain wins, republicans will be blamed for cheating. This probably will bring a previous posters comments of “heel is going to break loose”. Well, that is exactly what is to be expected out of the black race, and is exactly what this country needs. The black race will show their true color of their “suport” of multi-culturalism and diversity, and hopefully will wake up the media brain washed white race.
If Obama wins, you are not going to see a mob of white looters running the streets and stealing from everyone they can. If he wins, we will all know it will be done by cheating. Acorn???? It does’nt stop there, you just dont hear about it because the news won’t show it.
I would not care if the president was black or white. The black’s only care that their is a black one running. Any other reason to vote for him is secondary. I just want to be comfortable in the fact he is 100% for america, family american history, and believes in america’s founding beliefs and heritage. I cannot find anything like that in obama. Black, or white. In his case, both

  359. JW on November 1st, 2008 3:23 pm

    Joe- who mentioned race? YOU

And Dave, no wonder you like Obama, you are a Socialist yourself. Man, I guess you have not studied Socialist governments in the last 100 years. Oh yeah, Russia was a great place under Stalin if you happened to survive. And boy that Mao Tse Tung was a nice guy too, what was the number of his own people he had killed? I forget, but I know it was over 30 million.

Take away handguns! Good luck buster. You know the first thing Hitler did was take away the private citizens guns. Made things a lot easier when the SS came to your door in the middle of the night to drag you away to a concentration camp.

Without taking sides… do you really know anything about who you are voting for? Have you REALLY stopped to ask questions? Are you simply repeating something you heard that “rang a bell”? Have you looked to see who said it???

If you guess at this election, the odds are you are one of the government sheep waiting to be fleeced by both sides, whether you know it or not. God knows, they have done everything in their power to make you one.

The more power you give them, the more they will want. It is like blood in the water to sharks. What it really is about… what it has always been about… is creating a society where your children serve their children.

Many of you have fallen for the subterfuge behind the redistribution of wealth. ANY pitance handed down to the masses will be merely the leavings required to sustain the workers after the elite have filled their storehouses.

Look at where they live. ALL of them. Look at what they spend on utility bills. Compare their lifestyle to your own. Where do THEIR children go to school? What are they driving? ARE they driving?

Most revealing of all… look at their tax returns. What did they make? What did they pay? How does that compare with your own???

I really think, that after this election is over, we really need to get together and find a better solution than the one we are being offered.

For the record… my IQ was last estimated at 168… and this was written entirely without the use of “spell check”.

That obviously IS the custom here, is it not???

  362. Scarlett on November 1st, 2008 3:29 pm

You bet I am voting for McCain and Palin. After all they are the only two with experience and qualifications. Oh yeah, they are white. I don’t want Sharpton as my Secretary of Education, or Jackson, as head of the Justice dept…..Lets face it….I am a racist, and loving every minute. After all 98 percent of the black folks are voting color, so I am taking my cue from them, and voting color (and qualifications). Obama sat in a church for 20 years and heard nothing. He forgot he was a lawyer and trainer at ACORN (the root of the meltdown), and then he just happened to see Ayers in the neighbourhood…didnt recognize him at the board meetings they both attended, and when he sent money to Ayers causes…he never connected the dots…well, glory be. Then we have the PLO fellow….that Obama thinks is just grand, and the PLO fellow might have more sense since he was discussing the politics and Fraud of Chicago political machine…he might be a smart fellow even though he hates Israel. Now, it seems Obama’s aunt has been in this country for years, and he did not know she was illegal. Have you noticed he “did not see, did not know, did not hear>” amazing…just amazing. If Obama gets elected, Biden will be our president within the year…you connect the dots.

  363. Tony on November 1st, 2008 3:29 pm

Obama tries to pass himself off as just another “average” American. He’s not even close to being your average American! I started getting weird vibes from this phony when he and his wife said that they don’t get their kids any presents for Christmas! Does he get them something for Ramadan?

  364. Anjelica on November 1st, 2008 3:32 pm

McCain is not leading in the polls…they are just saying that to make themselves feel better. If McCain was leading, his main advisers would stay with him; instead, his main advisers have voted for Obama. Now why would some of his MAIN ADVISERS leave him, as in Mr. Charles Fried, one of Former President Reagan’s Chief of Staff. He and some of the other advisers left because they didn’t agree with the way McCain is running his campaign and they don’t think Palin is qualified, including Mr. Colin Powell. Since Mr. Powell don’t support McCain, that itself should say something about McCain and Palin. Yes, God knows that America needs a change and it’s definately not John McCain who only wants the RICH to get Richer! God is hearing our PRAYERS for a CHANGE of HOPE and we will prevail…Vote for the right MAN…Obama!!!

  365. Douglas on November 1st, 2008 3:33 pm

@JW… you are a funny, uneducated person, you know that? The whole ACORN story is being debunked, and as far as the donation you reference… Did you know that McLames’ campaign donated a half a million to them also? Hmmmm…. Betcha didn’t know that. Or maybe you DID and just were hoping it wouldn’t come up. and you want to talk about voter supression? How about in Denver, where the Supreme court just ordered the (Republicant) Secretary of State (who controls and is responsible for elections) to RESTORE the 30 some THOUSAND voters whom HE PURGED FROM VOTER ROLLS after they had signed up under the democratic voter registration drive… How about that? and don’t think that is the only state you republicants are trying to supress… Ohio, Virginia, Indiana… the list goes on and on… You and your likes make me sick. You now know damn well that in a FAIR election, you will lose in a landslide…. Good luck with that.

I have a problem with a candidate that cannot see, cannot hear, and cannot understand how he came to know so many radicals and terrorist. Then there is the problem with the aunt that has been in this country for years, but of course Osama did not know that…amazing how he does not know anything….He should get his hearing checked, his eyes checked, his ability to notice and think…..his idea of thoughful..is my idea of voting Present no matter the situation…making NO decision is a decision…..You can’t vote present at 3 in the morning when we are being attacked….I hope and pray this piece of garbage does not win the election…if so, your taxes will go up..count on it, and the depression will hit full force….

Handouts is not the way to govern a country.

  368. JW on November 1st, 2008 3:36 pm

    Right on Scarlett!

Yep, the black folks are voting for Obama simply because he is black, but that’s not rascist, is it?

And Obama used a few millions of that Chicago money to finance his cousin in Kenya, Raila Odinga a confirmed Socialist educated in East Germany. Obama even went over and campaigned in person for him. This was in 2007, not years ago! Do folks know about the many hundreds of thousands that have been killed there? Do they know that Odinga is forcing a Muslim government on Kenya although Muslims are a minority?

Yeah, that Obama is such a smooth talker. But I say actions speak louder than words.

  369. Scarlett on November 1st, 2008 3:38 pm

c mon we all know obama is not eligeble to be a us president as he is not a naturalized citizen. so when he is president he will do what he is ordered to do and america shall become more in line with the new world order. this is why we are allowing every body to cross our southern borders.and the border patrol police are prosecuted if they in any way prevent the illegals from coming into the united states of china. mark my words america is being molded by the nwo to become as china. obama is merely the instrument being used by the new world order to facilitate the conversion of our free market system into a socialist/ communistic hybrid government. and the african americans ,and most of americas white youth have been duped into believing that obama is a great leader that will bring about a wonderful change,a change that will make the bad guys go away ,a change that will create a america where the government makes things better for the little guy. wake up obama , and mc ain are puppets and the director and producer of the puppet show are the same guys that have always run the show. Obama will probaly become president and black americans will be scratching their heads and thinking , whats so great about giving my money to a seventeen year old illegal mexican girl who had her first baby at twelve and her sixth baby at seventeen. ill tell you whats so great about this change/ redistribution of money from the middle class to the lower class. Giving money
and insurance to illegal mexicans converts the middle class into the lower class thus increasing the assembly line labor force. and the black americans , suckers are fallng for it. Fact is millions of african american two income families have combined salaries in the 150 to 200 thousand rangeor more, and like i said they are gonna be scratching their head and thinking these taxes are gonna ruin us, guess we better send our kids to a community college and forget about the university But then again those millions of illegal aliens deserve the hard earned money that i worked for and my great grandparents actually slaved for. let wonderfull black american obama give our money to the illegals , increase our taxes so we can give them medicare nd school lunch programs and trillions of dollars so what if it taxes me into the poor house, give it all to the mexicans, vote for obama

Oh yeah, if Obama gets elected there will be plenty of change.

Change in your pocket instead of dollars!

Did people notice how Obama changed the $250,000 dollars in his 30 minute campaign ad this week? He’s been promising for months that anyone earning under $250,000 will get a tax cut. But in his show the other night he said $200,000 without blinking an eye! The amount was even on the screen. I guess he thinks Americans are stupid and don’t notice stuff like this. Well, I noticed, and I’m sure many others did as well. And you can bet that number will come down again, in fact I have heard that Biden is saying $150,000 in speeches the last few days.

Boy, the way he keeps redefining who is wealthy, by next week I am gonna be rich!

  380. Dale on November 1st, 2008 4:01 pm

The comments by Dave is typical Liberal BS in its worst or best. First of all, our nation was founded by forefathers who believed the most important thing was the freedom of religion…not seperation of religion from our thoughts and values and YES even our government….our constitution states no establishment of a State controlled religion…nothing else. Socialism is not good…I have not seen any government programs that don’t have fraud and waste. I believe in personal responsibility and that the government does not need to control our lives. There is a role for Government such as the Militay which I am sure you despise, but not like that crap you spout. Liberal social values like what he says (Gay marriage/ legalized drugs/antiChristian values)is so out there and extreme, not to say immoral…but then that shows his character.
He says to move out of the U.S.. I think he is trying to steal the message what the majority of people have said to his kind all along. I say to Dave, move to your beloved Canada…as he points out how good everything in Canada is. We (the USA)have the best Health system and quality care in the World and he wants to socialize health care…what an idiot. Go to Canada, Dave… it is so good there.
You are so sure of Obama’s “victory”…remember that Carter had a 7 point lead on Reagon just before the election and Carter lost in a landslide.
What about what your own people say about Obama. VP nominee Biden stated that within 6 months of his “victory”, a terrorist would attack the U.S. to test its resolve, he “guaranteed”. That is his friendly stance with terrorists….hold hands and have peace talks with those who wnat to kill us, and you especially cause of your immoral values…according to the Koran. So stupid is your philosophy.
Oh, but you are so smarter than the average Conservative…but the facts show that is not the case. But, I remember, the facts don’t matter with you.

  381. Cheri on November 1st, 2008 4:02 pm

The world economy is already in a crises, but imagine what it would be like if Obama is voted in? Every vote for McCain is one step closer to a worldwide financial improvement. It’s all good and well Obama wants to improve the life of the poor but at what cost is he doing it? The hard working people of America will be the ones paying for the lazy a** bums sitting on the side of the road waiting for the local soup kitchen to open. I’m not an American but if I was, my vote would definately be in McCains favour. It is so funny reading all the comments, the mccain supporters accuse others of being un-patriotic because we choose to try a new leader with new ideas, obviously the old ideas have worked really well over the last 8yrs. If you are not a mccain supporter then you are not a christian, or against America, but you with you actions and hateful words, have shown the world that the republicans are a just cowards who arm themselves with the bible, but are ignorant to its content, the republican party are just modern day witch hunters ready to slander and crucify anyone who does not look or think like them, try opening and reading your bibles instead of using them as a crutch or as weapons to beat about the heads of your opponents. We the people of America say the GOP does not represent America we want a party that represent the demographics of America, no more of the old white boy club for the rich. In fact the GOP is one of the worst display of christianity I have ever seen, in fact you are not christians, far from it, with your greed and slanderous tongue, you do not represent true christians and you do not represent the majority of America.

I’m with you Dale. Go to YouTube and you can find a video of Obama at Planned Parenthood promising his first act will be to pass a law allowing for abortion for any reason that will override any individual State law.

I agree that the Socialists can all move to Canada. But why do so many Canadians come here for health care if their system is so good?

Why do folks risk their lives on anything that floats to escape from the socialist dream state of Cuba to come here?

These Marxists have all been brainwashed by our liberal education system. Guess who they are supporting for President? Obama! My, what a surprise. Obama promises more teachers with more pay even though many countries who pay their teachers far less do a far better job of educating.

McCain supports vouchers where parents can send their kids to private schools with good results.

  393. JW on November 1st, 2008 4:21 pm

Well Kay, let me ask you a question.

If McCain went to a church for over 20 years where the preacher preached white superemacy, who said that all people of color were devils, would you call him a racist? Man, it would be on the front page of all the liberal newspapers and on the news every night!

But it’s OK for Obama to attend a church for 20 years where Rev. Wright and others call white folks Satan!

Of course, Obama was never there when these hate filled racist sermons were preached!

Wanna buy a bridge in Brooklyn?, I’ll give you a real good deal!

So, when folks question Obama because of his MANY connections with radical and openly anti-American people and organizations, we are racists?

Hey Native Black, if you want to send money to the government, they will be glad to waste it for you. Send all you want.

Yes, McCain did admit he broke under torture. I mean, when they tie your hands behind your back and your feet and then run a rope between and hoist you up and hang you for hours until you almost suffocate and your arms come out of joint, oh hell no, you wouldn’t talk.

I will admit McCain cannot speak as well as Obama. And he doesn’t move around very well either. I guess 5 years of daily torture inhibits your movement.

But McCain said something very important. He said he realized he was not such a hot-shot as he thought, and he came to realize that a person must live for something bigger and more important than himself. And that is why he has devoted his life to public service. He’s got plenty of dough, he could be sitting on a beach sipping Margaritas

Now look at Obama. He sets up an actual TEMPLE in Denver. He’s gonna stop the oceans from rising. He is THE ONE!

What a stark difference. One wants to serve his country, the other wants you to worship him.

President Obama will turn-around this economy like never before. He will shock the world. He will live his entire term and the people who supports him is inspired by him, including some of the MOST prominent figures, including people like, Colin Powell, Charles Fried, Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffet, the riches man in the United States, even former President Bill Clinton. It may have taken awhile for Bill Clinton, but he jumped on the band-wagon, campaigning for Obama.

There are so many other people who are inspired by President Obama…Republicans jumping party to vote Democratic. All of these prominent and SMART people CAN’T be wrong.

That’s why I am PROUD to present you with Our next President of the United States:

    President Barack Obama

  400. JW on November 1st, 2008 5:07 pm

Well Native Black, thank you, and I respect your right to have a different opinion from my own. I never served in the military myself, but my father and 3 of his 4 brothers served during WWII.

Now, we can’t keep harping on this racial thing forever. It was actually religious people, the Baptist church in particular who started the abolitionist movement. Look it up, it’s fact. And it was Abraham Lincoln and the Republican Party that freed the slaves. I’ve never understood why African Americans vote about 95% Democratic knowing this fact.

Of course, there was still a long way to go, and it took many years for African Americans to attain equality. And I realize there are still some problems. But if you are honest, and I think you are, I think you know that many black people hate white people, that many black people are racists themselves.

But I think that is a minority, I really do. Obama would not have won the Democratic nominee for President without many thousands, maybe millions of white people voting for him.

And as a Republican I can tell you, the vast majority of Republicans are not racist whatsoever.

So let’s take that out of the picture.

It is not because of Obama’s color that I would never vote for him, it is because of his socialist and liberal beliefs. I am against abortion for one thing, and I am against gay marriage. Now don’t say I hate gays, my brother is gay and we are very close. I love him very much. But I disagree with his lifestyle. I am completely open with him about this, we have discussed this issue hundreds of times. He loves me and completely understands my position.

I am against big government. I think it is a person’s responsibility to take care of themselves and their family. The Democrats have always been the party of big hand-outs and welfare, and this is why probably 98% of folks receiving these hand-outs vote Democratic.

But you see, these folks will never improve their lifestyle accepting hand-outs. No, sooner or later you have to break the dependency and raise yourself up. It’s the only method that has ever really worked.

What folks living on assistance do not realize is that the government is demeaning them. It is keeping them down and keeping them from succeeding. It is a form of slavery really. Keeps them on the plantation if you know what I mean.

Now that said, I am not a big fan of the super-rich. I do not think anybody should earn 400 times what the average worker makes. I don’t think these guys are all that smart, and the recent crisis shows that. So, there should be limits.

A lot of the current mess was caused by the government allowing these sub-prime mortages. And Obama was involved in that big-time. His organization put pressure on banks to grant mortgages to folks who were very high risk borrowers. There are many thousands of forclosed homes in Chicago that point right to Obama, neighborhood after neighborhood. This is fact, look it up yourself. This is socialism and it doesn’t work.

Obama also used millions to support his cousin in Kenya who is a confirmed Socialist. Obama actually campaigned for him in person. And this was last year. This man is forcing a Muslim government on Kenya even though Muslims are a minority. Many thousands have been killed and displaced. Look it up for yourself.

So it is the actions of Obama I am against, not his color.

  403. creysol on November 1st, 2008 7:06 pm

I have tried to read each and every post without passing judgement or taking sides. I can refrain (mostly) from the latter two… but I just cannot soldier through all the garbage.

A tip of the hat to Oz, Abel… and maybe Steve… and there were a couple of others that I am sure deserve mention but I just can’t clearly recall now. And there is probably a voice of reason I just skipped when the puddle became a swamp. I am sorry if I missed you.

This will be lengthy… but I promise you, worth your time to read. At least if you care truely about world peace. These are my experiences and not open to cross examination. It is simply what is and did occur from my perspective in the world. Doesn’t matter who I am, or where I am or was.

During the Carter administration, at the very last, our guns had brass plugs in their barrels. Side arms were not carried. Planes flew missions with their bays, racks and magazines empty.

In port, we walked softly… and always in groups. Everywhere we went we were fair game for cons and thieves and people who spit upon us when our back’s were turned. They eyed us with greed and contempt but would say or do anything to try and get our money. They thought we were all rich and that all we had to do was go back to the ship and be given back anything they took from us. And after all, we weren’t really human. We didn’t have souls. It was unfortunate if one of us died, but ultimately our own fault.

It seems we held memorial services daily for pilots that did not return from missions that carried them within 200 miles of places like Libia. “Equipment malfunction” became as familiar as “Attention On Deck!”. You were discouraged from speculation and cautioned about your letters home.

It seems now as if it was the moment that President Reagan took office that two Libian planes were splashed and the mysterious equipment failures ceased. I will always believe that he freed the hostages just by being elected. (If you have to ask:”What hostages?” Look it up.)It is from this man that Clinton inherited the policies he takes credit for today. Read your history on that one.

I didn’t think of him as a Repulican… more like a father who finally untied my hands. It was finally safe again for me to explore the world. And I did.

Today, I have family overseas that I love with all my heart. When a Japanese company hired one of my relatives, at a far higher rate than would have been offered by nonexistant local employer’s, we were all grateful to the wonderful people of Japan. (The same Japan that had enslaved many of these same people during WWII by the way. The same Japan that built many of the schools my wife attended. THE Japan America helped create after the war through occupation.)The pay was not the same as a job in Japan… but far more than anyone had before. And it WAS there, where it helps the most. When a US company opens it’s doors in an underpriveledged country, for whatever reason, the world gains much more than the US loses.

For the companies, there are costs, like freight and tarrifs, which limit the benefits to them to some degree. Sure, greed may be a factor, but at least my family doesn’t starve… and doesn’t have to depend entirely upon the money and gifts we send them.

And we do send gifts and money. We spoil them as much as we can. You want to talk about spreading the wealth?? We will never be in danger of making enough to worry about a tax that effects only the wealthy. God, if only there was such a thing…

I am done with most of you. You pretend to be things you are not and speak as if you each had some secret wisdom that makes you better than your fellow. As if it matters.

Well… I quit. My business is closed. The employees will be turning to you now. I AM leaving to join the family that loves and respects me. But I will be watching. I am pretty sure you have earned what is coming.

You know… I can’t help feeling that if modern day Japan, or even China for that matter, should ever declare war upon us again, you would do well to consider surrender.

  404. Dave the Window Guy on November 1st, 2008 7:06 pm

Just to keep down the personal attacks and other excessive emotional outpourings….

Keep in mind that there are campaign operatives that are going to try to skew a blog like this one.

Douglas seems a bit too determined to put across some negative input. I’m sure from that extreme point of view his goal is to bully the middle into that perspective.

I think the input is really going somewhere but lets hit some real issues.

    National Security
    Abortion (right to life)
    Immigration Reform
    Government Spending Reductions
Social Security Reform for our seniors
    Support of Israel
    Support of our Allies
    The Mortgage Lending Crisis
    Lower Taxation
    Controlling Lobbiests
Supreme Court Judges using the Constitution to determine the rule of law

These are substative issues at hand. Most are big concerns for Republicans and don’t seem to be as important for Democrats.

Democrats like to have the discussion centered on other terms.

Change the way things are (I’m entitled to more than this).
Deal with the Fear that I have. I’m scared that life is unsafe and insecure.
Government needs to stop the Crisis I feel.
Racism still controls our lives and I’m a slave to other peoples perceptions.
Redistribution of wealth or reparations and subsidy to the poor is good for me and the government is responsible to oversee that process.
Government Provided Health Care is the right of all Americans. (Someone should have to pay for it if I get sick).
A Woman’s Right to Control her own body to 9 months of pregnancy. (right to choose issues).
Tax Refunds, Government Rebates and Minimum Wage Increases.
World Acceptance – (Those other countries don’t like us, we should change.)

These are hugely different paradigms. One is immensely more vulnerable overall and needs to be handled with kindness and grace. The other is perhaps a more intellectual overview but it’s very often less than understanding of the concerns of the latter group (often myself included).

My point is “the Middle” has little concern over either extreme. They simply respond to marketing, sound bites, and “fast food” journalism. God bless those who are in the middle, but without an overview perspective the middle is blind to both of our points of view. Life is always viewed as abundant or scarce, good or bad, free or in bondage. Because they are in the middle and somewhat “luke warm” they don’t see life in it’s abundance or it’s scarcity. They simply don’t care about either perspective.

I see the middle as needing to decide if their life is good or bad, which issues really will matter to them, and who will do something about those issues.

    BUSH’S RESIGNATION SPEECH:

The following ’speech’ was written recently by an ordinary Maine
resident. While satirical in nature, all satire must have a basis in fact to be
effective. This is an excellent piece by a person who does not write
    for a living.

The speech George W. Bush might give:

Normally, I start these things out by saying ‘My Fellow Americans.’
Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don’t
know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has
happened, and that you’re really not fellow Americans any longer.
I’ll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all
in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid
prosecution or something, let me assure you: There’s been no breaking of laws or
    impeachable offenses in this office.

The reason I’m quitting is simple. I’m fed up with you people. I’m
fed up because you have no understanding of what’s really going on in the
world. Or of what’s going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the
majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.

Let’s start local. You’ve been sold a bill of goods by politicians
and the news media. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you
are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there’s
increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of
noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property
    than your economic security.

We face real threats in the world. Don’t give me this ‘blood for
oil’ thing. If I were trading blood for oil I would’ve already seized Iraq ‘S
oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don’t give me this
‘Bush Lied… People Died’ crap either. If I were the liar you morons take
me for, I could’ve easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could
be ‘discovered.’ Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence
    was faulty.

Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the
goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was
official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named
‘ Clinton ‘ established that policy. Bet you didn’t know that, did you?

Now some of you morons want to be led by a junior senator with no
understanding of foreign policy or economics, and this nitwit says
we should attack Pakistan , a nuclear ally. And then he wants to go to Iran
and make peace with a terrorist who says he’s going to destroy us. While he’s
doing that, he wants to give Iraq to al Qaeda, Afghanistan to the Taliban,
Israel to the Palestinians, and your money to the IRS so the government can
give welfare to illegal aliens, who he will make into citizens, so they
can vote to re-elect him. He also thinks it’s okay for Iran to have nuclear
weapons, and we should stop our foreign aid to Israel . Did you sleep
    through high school?

You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back
during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic
models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally,
the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to
    out spend and out-tech them.
That’s not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don’t
care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That’d be fine, as long as
they weren’t also committed to taking as many of you with them as they
can. But they are. They want to kill you, and the bastards are all over the
    globe.

You should be grateful that they haven’t gotten any more of us here
in the United States since September 11. But you’re not. That’s because
you’ve got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law
enforcement, and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When
this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and
difficult fight. I’m disappointed how many of you people think a long and
difficult fight amounts to a single season of ‘Survivor.’
Instead, you’ve grown impatient. You’re incapable of seeing things
through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that
wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.

Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy.
Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a
cut-and-run Democrat’s political campaign, well, dang it, you might
just as well Fed Ex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same
    thing.

In this day and age, it’s easy enough to find the truth. It’s all
over the Internet. It just isn’t on the pages of the New York Times, USA
Today, or on NBC/ABC News. But even if it were, I doubt you’d be any smarter.
Most of you would rather watch American Idol or Dancing with Stars.

I could say more about your expectations that the government will
always be there to bail you out, even if you’re too stupid to leave a city
that’s below sea level and has a hurricane approaching.

I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your
own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I’ve come to the
conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads.

So I quit. I’m going back to Crawford…. I’ve got an
energy-efficient house down there ( Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully
self-sufficient for years. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got
elected, and as soon as I’m done here pretty much no one will ever
hear of it again. Maybe I’ll be lucky enough to die of old age before the
    last pillars of America fall.

Oh, and by the way, Cheney’s quitting too. That means Pelosi is your
new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because
I still have a glimmer of hope that there are just enough of you remaining
who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2009.

So that’s it….. and God bless what’s left of America .

Some of you know what I mean. The rest of you, kiss off.

PS – You might want to start learning Farsi, and buy a Koran.

Oh, the eagle says, “I used to be so proud of America !”

  407. Mell on November 1st, 2008 9:15 pm

When a man running for president in America cannot remember how many states the country has, how can he possibly know anything about politics in America?
And what ever happened to patriotism? A man who does not solute our flag is not worthy to be the nation’s president. Don’t Americans realize how disrespectful that is? Let’s be rational. We cannot afford to have this socialist man become our next president.

  408. Mell on November 1st, 2008 9:33 pm

Maybe your right, Karen. Maybe if we support or fund public education Obama will take up the opportunity and go back to school to learn the amount of states this country has.

  409. Dave the Window Guy on November 1st, 2008 9:45 pm

Karen in Dallas Texas we spend about $6500 per kiddo…. Private school runs about $5600. Who do you think educates our children better? Perhaps we should spend more money on it? It’s lame, must need more government intervention and regulation.

Is “we need more money for public education” really what you have to add to this conversation?

  410. JW on November 1st, 2008 10:59 pm

Karen- The conservatives are fascists? Well, I remember a couple of famous fascists, Hitler and Mussolini. Guess what one of the first things they did? They took away the right to own private firearms. Of course, that was so the Secret Police would have an easier time rounding up dissenters or anybody deemed an enemy of the state.

And Obama wants to take away the right to own firearms too. Now don’t call me some right-wing zealot, I don’t even own a firearm or belong to the NRA, although I did own a shotgun as a teen. I used to hunt squirrels a bit and never once thought about taking it to school to shoot fellow classmates like the young people educated in our schools today. Oh yeah, the public schools need even more money to mess up our kids minds.

And Obama must have gone to one of these modern schools, he thinks there are 57 states! Incredible. He also said he has a 10 year plan for his administration, I guess he doesn’t know about the 2 term limit. And they call Bush a dummy? Obama may be a slick talker, but he must have skipped American History and Social Studies class. Oh yeah, that’s right, he attended a Muslim school. Boy, those Muslims sure are pro-American! And Obama loves to hang with fellows like Rev. Wright and Ayers who hate America. He gave millions to his cousin Raila Odinga a socialist educated in East Germany in Kenya, even went there personally to campaign for the guy. Wow, what an election, thousands were killed. Nice fellow that Odinga. Now Odinga is imposing a religious Muslim government on Kenya even though Muslims are a minority there. So much for democracy.

And where did Obama get all this money? From Acorn and his other leftist organizations in Chicago. You should go there, Obama and his gang put big pressure on banks to make risky mortgage loans to high risk borrowers, mostly minorities. Sounds nice doesn’t it, helping out those poor folks. Well, now there have been thousands of foreclosures and those poor people are out on the street. You can see the empty houses, neighborhood after neighborhood. That’s OK, Obama and his buddies like Ayers made millions.

And now Obama has the gall to blame the Bush administration for the financial meltdown. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black, no pun intended.

I hope Obama doesn’t get elected. He is correct there will be change, but you probably won’t like it. And it will be change in your pocket, no dollars.

Man, Obama should have sent some of those millions to his poor Aunt living here illegally in public housing. Of course, she wasn’t supposed to be here, but Obama knew nothing about it although she attended his swearing in at the very time she was ordered to leave. I wonder how the invitation found it’s way to her when he had no idea where she was?

And Obama is a man of his word. He’s not going to tax anyone making less than $250,000. I’m sorry, he changed that, the new figure is $200,000. I’m sorry, the new figure is $150,000. I’m sorry, the new figure is now $120,000.

Wow, the way Obama keeps redefining who the wealthy are, in a few more days I will be considered one of the rich!

I find it very interesting that self-proclaimed christians are the first to be so antagonistic. Christ – by the way – was just the opposite. Christ teaches us to be loving to one another. In fact, when he was about to be killed, he showed great compassion when Peter cut off a soldier’s ear by replacing it. This was to show that you could still be in disagreement with someone and still be polite and not hateful.
I understand if you think Obama’s policies are wrrong for the country and criticize them. There is no need insinuating that he is antichrist or demonic because none on you have seen it firsthand. It is always about how he is going screw up the country. How can anybody say with a straight face that after these last eight years they ( the Republicans ) have a solution. Let’s see:

    1. It is often said that Republicans complain how lousy, corrupt, and inefficient government is and get elected to prove it. True, that Democrats want some more things to be done by Gov’t but under the last three Republicans presidents spending has gone up, from Reagan, Bush sr., and obviously GW. So the charge of big govt and big spending by the Republicans holds no water at all.

    2. Socialism: The US has long debated on how much govt should be involved in all of our lives. By the way, I find it very interesting how we should trust the government when it comes to our protection, our safety, and our privacy and not anything else. Anyway, when it came to taxation we have settled on progressive taxation or the “PAYE” – pay-as-you-earn system. It is the law. So for instance, Bill Gates pays more taxes than I do. But before Mr. Bush’s tax cut, we were not a socialist country. THERE WAS REDISTRIBUTION IN THE REPUBLICAN BUSH ADMISTRATION TOO, ONLY THAT INCOME WAS REDISTRIBUTED UPWARD. In other words, my tax money was taken from me and given to Exxon, say. So if we like to call it socialism, we should call it that irrespective of what direction the so-called distribution is effected.

    3. Patriotism: Why is it always that when people do not agree with most people on the Right, they are automatically branded unpatriotic? My father served in the military but even he does not profess to be the only patriot in here. So understand that if you want to wave your flag on your bike, the person who does not, or better yet, the person who made the flag is equally as patriotic as you. While a soldier might show the love of country on the battlefield, another citizen might show his or hers by building the sophiscated weaponry that the soldiers use. In that sense, the people in Accadamia or everyday people you meet posses an equal amount of love country as the soldier, maybe. For, we can have the bravest soldiers, but our military might not be as powerful as it is now if all our soldiers had to fight with were spears, for instance. So next time you are waving your flag on your car, proudly, which is very good, do not assume that the person next to you in traffic with an Obama sticker is automatically UNAMERICAN. For all you know, he may be the doctor who might save a wreck ahead in a few minutes….
It is often said that intelligence is a non-asset only to the willfully unobservant. And a word to the wise is enough…

An impression is being created here that Obama’s trip to Kenya was to campaign for our Prime Minster Raila Odinga.

Am obliged to clarify, Obama came to Kenya to see his grandmother (his father’s mother) who happens to hail from the same Province that our Prime Minister Raila Odinga comes from. BTW, that was way before the Kenya election campaigns.

Those talking about Obama financing Raila’s campaign, gosh, do you have any proof of that?

And for those of you saying Kenya is turning into an Islamic State, plz, don’t expose your ignorance, and by the way am in the capital of Kenya as I write this blog!

My advise, look at the substance of what each of the candidates is offering and not these fear mongering tactic!

We have forgotten our roots, what made this country the greatest nation on planet earth!

A quote from Ronald Reagan: “If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”

Obama sat in Rev. Wright’s church for 20 years but couldn’t recall ever hearing any anti-American or anti-white sermons. Served with Ayers the bomber and Acorn for years, pulling in MILLIONS of dollars, but says Ayers was just a guy on the block and he wasn’t really associated with Acorn, says he wasn’t aware of his Aunt being in the country or ordered to leave in ‘04 when she attended his swearing in at that time at his personal invitation.

Must be the crack and pot he smoked, Obama seems to have serious memory issues!

Semiliterate conservatives show their true colors in ALL CAPS and many misspelled words. Let em say what they want. I’ve been doing Get Out The Vote phone banking for Obama for three days. It’s going to be a landslide. Go back to Arizona and Alaska, John and Sarah. It’s over.

All I know is that America has practically given up their freedom. When he made his presidential speech out to Rosa Parks, he made it a racial election. He did not even bother to thank the Hispanics who were the majority of his supporters as well as the youth. The youth who guided themselves by the media, the celebrities, and the university professors. The youth, who are naive and gullible, have been able to control the decisions of this country. How PATHETIC. I pray for everyone’s safety, even the voters who have made this terrible decision.
