    Hate speech all the way. I’d picket the guy and call the homeowner’s assoc. if I lived nearby.

    It certainly may be hate but it is also acceptable as free speech as long as the imaginary victim is a political figure. The Sons of Liberty did something similar though in their case that particular action led to rioting. During the depression a number of members of the Supreme Court were also hung in effigy. I have heard of someone suggesting hanging effigies of those who wrongly decided Roe v. Wade. Still hanging Senator Obama would probably be considered racist.
