Update: Video report at Newsbusters

Crossposted from Wake Up America with permission:

Well two themes here, evidently Obama supporters are really gung-ho about that “spread the wealth” idea of Barack Obama’s, and Democrats tend to be less happy people than Republicans are, by a larger margin than ever before

First off, a 20 year-old woman, Ashley Todd of College Station and a McCain supporter, Texas, was robbed for $60 dollars after she used an ATM machine.

The Obama supporter approached her putting a knife to her throat and demanded $60.00 from her.

How do we know the assailant was an Obama supporters?

Well, glad you asked!!!

After seeing Todd’s car has a McCain/Palin bumper sticker, the thief became enraged and then punched and kicked her, then took his knife and carved the letter “B” into her face, according to Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard.

The man also had angry things to say about McCain and Palin before starting to carve Todd’s face up.

Todd handed the man $60 she had in her pocket and stepped away from him, investigators said. The man then noticed the bumper sticker on the woman’s car, which was parked in front of the ATM. The man became very angry, made comments to Todd about John McCain and punched her in the back of the head, knocking her to the ground, police said.

“He continued to kick and punch her repeatedly and said he would teach her a lesson for supporting John McCain,” said police Chief Nate Harper.

The robber is described as a dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes.

I guess that “spread the wealth” thing is real popular with Obama supporters.

The Obama campaign issued a statement condemning this attack.

Also see Hot Air…

Michelle Malkin has her doubts on this story. Yes, the B is backwards..but as Ace points out…if you turn the photo upside down, perhaps the angle the perpetrator did this, it all makes sense.

On another note, perhaps the reason why we notice so much consistent anger from Democrats is explained by the latest Pew Research report.

Pew Research just came out with a report showing that Republicans are happier people than Democrats.

Well, Republicans are different from Democrats. How so? Let us count the ways.

* They have more money.2
* They have more friends.3
* They are more religious.4
* They are healthier.5
* They are more likely to be married.6
* They like their communities better.7
* They like their jobs more.8
* They are more satisfied with their family life.9
* They like the weather better.10
* They have fewer financial worries.11
* They’re more likely to see themselves doing better in life than their parents did.12
* They’re more likely to feel that individuals – rather than outside forces – control their own success or failure.13
* They have more of what they most value in life. (No, it’s not money).14

Explains so much, doesn’t it?

    I am reminded of one statement… get in their face.

    Don’t worry, us Democrats will be much happier starting November 5th.

    Bend over Republicans. What goes around, comes around.

    FAKE. The “B” is far to superficial to have been made during the violence and anger of a robbery and mugging. And it’s backwards…. She did it to herself using a mirror just like Morton Downey did back in the late 80’s with his “I was mugged by skinheads” hoax. Look it up.

    This is far worse because it’s race-baiting as surely as the Susan Smith drowning of her own children several years ago in S. Carolina and then blaming it on “black men who kidnapped my children” was. Here’s hoping she spends some quality time in Pittsburgh’s finest prisons.

    * They have more money.2
    * They have fewer financial worries.11
    * They go on bigger shopping sprees.19

    Sooo…. Elitist right?

    Be careful as this looks like a possible fraud as there is nothing to back up the woman’s testimony. She even refused to go to the hospital. She did make a police report. The wound does not look like a wound made by a knife. If it is true then supporting evidence will be forthcoming.

    Typical minority behavior. this will happen everyday when barak is in power

    This could take advertising to a higher level. There may be a wealth of untouched marketing knowledge wasting away in our prisons.

    We are such a wasteful country.

    The video from the ATM machine does not match her story. Also, she is refusing a polygraph & has made conflicting statements about her attack.
    She stated the man straddled her chest, pinned her arms with his knees & carved her face.
    She is nuts & did this in a mirror. A desperate attempt for 15 minutes.

    This is almost definitely a fraudulent story. The girl (most likely) either a liar or delusional.

    Here is a summary of what everyone here has said about it:

    This blog: <<>>>>

    Me: Yeah, glad someone asked her why she drew a B on her own face and made up this story.

    Someone else: “Typical minority behavior. this will happen everyday when barak is in power”

    Me: That is just so ignorant, I can’t even begin to respond to it.

    You right-wing suckers – you fell for a hoax AGAIN!

    BTW, since we’re on the subject, allow me to introduce myself: I’m a Nigerian prince with money to share with you. Please send me your bank account numbers and I’ll wire it to you ASAP! Nearly all of the people I’ve made rich are conservatives! You can be one of them!

    A retraction is required here – I would think, and a slap to the head (you know, like ‘if I only had a brain). If are a blogger you are, I would think, by definition, sensitive to bull—). This seemed more likely than not -from the outset, unbelievable. Yet you bought it, and added your little comments about Democrats being less happy than Republicans. What you should consider, and acknowledge, is that the tone of the McCain campaign has, and will, lead to more of these kinds of reactions from the fringes of your party. Yes, I blame McCain, and Palin, for giving permission to these kinds of people. The continuing insistence that American’s aren’t being told the whole truth about Obama – while never saying what that whole truth is, allows these people to fill in the blanks with their own paranoid ideas. There is still time for McCain to go out gracefully, but it looks more and more likely that his legacy will be greater divisiveness, politics not country first, and images that portray a man who is not fit to lead this country.

    So, now that you all know that this hateful and racist woman made up the story, would any of you care to take back your hateful and racist comments? This is disgusting.

  14. smith on October 24th, 2008 6:28 pm

    I called it as a political dirty trick to rile up anti-black animosity. I was right.

  15. William on October 24th, 2008 9:37 pm

    I rest my case. This is why Obama will win this election. Like Frank said above, the whole republican machine is feeding divisiveness, while the dems are talking about bringing people together. Young republicans like me aren’t leaving the party, the party is abandoning us. They are engaging in the shameful actions they once decried in the democrats. We republicans deserve better from our party officials, and deserve to lose this election. Maybe in 4-8-12 years the party will have figured out that Americans don’t want the policies of the past. We want, and deserve policies for the future.

    Fox news – As of today, Oct. 24, 2008, police say Todd recanted, admitting that the whole store was a lie. http://tinyurl.com/6kwuot

    This story smelled fake one mile away… It is cute to see how now that she recanted the same morons who used it to make propaganda are asking to respect the privacy of this poor disturbed woman…

    So, the behaviour of a black, deranged obama supporter is a fault that weights on every democrat…
    While the behaviour of a deranged white woman
    who supports McCain is to be pitied.

    Wow.
