AP Poll: All Tied Up

Posted on October 22, 2008

Take this with a grain of salt. Most polls are showing between 8 to 10 points in favor of Obama. FOX News has it at Obama 49, McCain 40. However, the latest AP poll ties things up at 44 to 43, with Obama losing six points among likely voters in three weeks.

An Associated Press-GfK poll shows the presidential race tightened after the final debate, with John McCain gaining among whites and people earning less than $50,000. Two weeks before the election, McCain and Barack Obama are essentially running even among likely voters.
The poll put Obama at 44 percent and McCain at 43 percent among those voters who are considered likely to vote on Nov. 4. The survey supports what some Republicans and Democrats privately have said in recent days: that the race has narrowed as Republicans drift home to their party. McCain’s “Joe the plumber” analogy also seemed to strike a chord.

What? McCain won the last debate? I thought I was just crazy for thinking that.

Uh oh! Other polls are trending McCain’s way too!

Contrary to other polls, some of which show Obama ahead by double digits, the IBD/TIPP Poll shows a sudden tightening of Obama’s lead to 3.7 from 6.0. McCain has picked up 3 points in the West and with independents, married women and those with some college. He’s also gaining momentum in the suburbs, where he’s gone from dead even a week ago to a 20-point lead. Obama padded gains in urban areas and with lower-class households, but he slipped 4 points with parents.

Good news about the IBD poll is that it was the most accurate poll in the 2004 campaign season. Closer than you think in PA too!

Could it be that voters have been paying more attention to Obama’s connections and actions than the media? The Odinga conneciton alone would cost Obama 10 points if got properly exposed by media:

Hmmmm. Dead heat, within the margin of error, potential to go either way…. but come November 4, McCain and his dirty racist Rethuglicons will have “stolen” the election yet again, continuing the oppression of the black People and preventing The One from fulfilling his destiny. Interestingly, I read the other day that apparently The One’s purpose (in some people’s minds) is facilitating the “role reversal” of the “slave masters” and the “slaves,” to give ascendancy of blacks over whites, so we’re just scared (paraphrasing).
