Barack Obama: Supporter of Infanticide

Consider this post a fairly comprehensive tally of Barack Obama’s pro-murder record.

1.) In last Wednesday’s final debate with John McCain, Barack Obama answered a question regarding his opposition as an Illinois State Senator to the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. His ace is that Illinois law already protected babies born alive during abortions. This is simply not true. Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins explains:

“He ignores a letter dated July 17, 2000 in which Illinois Attorney General Ryan reported that the Illinois Department of Public Health found there was ‘no basis for legal action’ to protect babies that survive abortion.

“On March 30, 2001, Obama spoke from the floor of the Illinois legislature, saying that the Born Alive Infants Protection Act placed an undue burden on doctors to keep a child alive. The fact remains that those who opposed the bill were unwilling to prevent infanticide.

“Senator Obama took the opportunity last night to continue to blur his radical abortion views. He has a long record of opposing any legislation that protects innocent life – opposing a ban on partial-birth abortion and voting four times against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. The senator, in 2003, even voted against an identical version that passed 98-0 in the U.S. Senate and on which the pro-abortion group NARAL expressed neutrality.

“Additionally, in a speech last year to Planned Parenthood, he promised to sign as his ‘first act’ as President a law that would overturn nationwide bans on partial-birth abortion as well as require the use of taxpayer funds to pay for abortions. The speech is much more revealing about how far he will go to push his extreme views.”

2.) This video, with Jill Stanek, describes the horrific act of infanticide, known as induced labor abortions and is supported by Barack Obama. If you aren’t moved at the end, there is something wrong with you. Hint: There IS something wrong with Barack Obama.

3.) Jill Stanek’s website is loaded with all kinds of documentation and information proving Obama not only supports abortion and infanticide, but lied about it in this election’s debates. Here is a sampling:

Obama stated pro-life proposals must be “amenable to reason.”

OK, Sen. Obama, let’s reason. Explain why you support abortion for whatever rationale, at whatever gestation, by whatever means. Explain why you support infanticide, if banning it might interfere with abortion.

Then, since you brought it up, explain how, despite all that, you think Jesus should vote for you, either now or in the hereafter, particularly given His statement, “It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around the neck than to face the punishment in store for harming one of these little ones.”

I doubt Christian supporters of Obama will actually take the time to investigate his actual record on abortion as if holding their hands over their ears and claiming ignorance will count when God holds them accountable one day. There are two primary lies being promoted by liberals to justify a vote for Barack Obama.

  1. “No results.” As the argument goes, no Republican president has succeeded in overturning Roe v. Wade and I refuse to be a one-issue voter. So, since I agree with Obama the other 99% of the time, I can vote for Obama.
  2. “Decrease abortions.” Obama has more plans to decrease abortions.

The first is a peculiar argument to be making for voting FOR a pro-murder candidate. As if two wrongs make a right. Biblical fallacy? Absolutely. This is deceiving because it takes cooperation from the courts, namely SCOTUS, to overturn an unconstitutional ruling like Roe, not simply a pro-life president. Several Christians I know admit that, despite the life issue, being a big one, they can justify it because of agreement on other issues. That still doesn’t explain this issue and why they think it’s ok to vote for someone with a record and promises like Obama. If Obama himself, refuses to take God’s view of life stating it’s “above his pay grade,” then Christians who vote for Obama are endorsing this view. And every Christian knows when life begins. Support for Obama is thus either hypercritical or ignorance. Either way, it’s wrong. And Obama’s lack of ability to judge on this issue should reveal more about his character to his Christian supporters so that they’re not merely “single-issue” voters, but “values voters.”

The second is equally puzzling because it throws reason to the wind and embraces a liberal spin that is so easy to detect, it makes Lucifer in the Garden of Eden look like Bozo the Clown. Here is the basis from which this reason comes:

  • Protecting a Women’s Right to Choose: Obama will make safeguarding women’s rights under Roe v. Wade a priority. He opposes any constitutional amendment to overturn that decision.
  • Reducing Unintended Pregnancy: Obama will work to reduce unintended pregnancy by guaranteeing equity in contraceptive coverage, providing sex education, and offering rape victims accurate information about emergency contraception.
All women should have a right to choose; They can choose to have sex or not. Once a woman becomes pregnant, it’s no longer just her. She has a living person growing in her womb. Now, in cases of rape or incest, obviously there are few situations where this argument applies so, initially, I would trade abortion in these cases for abortion-on-demand. But the fact that there are no pro-choice candidates who support this view, means liberals care more about killing unwanted babies than actually preventing abortions.
Obama’s support for comprehensive sex education ignores the most effective method of preventing pregnancies and thus abortions: abstinence. Instead, he takes the party’s position. I can’t help but wonder if he thinks encouraging abstinence is above his pay grade too.

    Your article intentionally ignores that Obama (while supporting pro-choice) is NOT pro-infanticide. He does NOT support partial-birth or late-term abortion. His vote against a bill banning such procedures was only cast because the bill lacked any provision for protection of the mother’s health. For the hands of the family and medical staff to be bound solid and not to be able to defend the mother’s life over the potential existance of an unborn child is at least silly, if not putrid. I don’t like to try to assign value to one life over another, but if I were pregnant and there was a significant threat to my life which could be mitigated by abortion, I would find it unacceptable for pro-lifers to tell me that my life isn’t worth being “pro” for.

    So, by whose authority are you somehow more valuable than the baby?

    Don’t answer that. You can’t. That’s not fair of me. But since you believe that you are more valuable than a baby, I guess I’d have to be pro-choice for you. Oh wait, you already had a choice-to have sex. Oops, you’ve used your choice. Now the baby gets its choice. Too bad for you.

    This is a perfect example of trying to turn a non-issue into an issue. We have a lot bigger problems in our country and world, than worrying about abortion. We’ve got an enormous debt, the economy is terrible, we’ve got soldiers dying everyday, our military is stretched thin, people are losing their homes and all you can talk about is some strangers unborn baby.

    I’m sure Jesus would be a one issue voter. The Jesus Christ that I profess as my Lord and Savior isn’t voting for a party that cuts social programs and puts the wealthy above the poor.

    If you really want to start reducing the number of abortions, maybe you should volunteer your time and money and try to educate people who are likely to get abortions. But I guess that involves hard work. It’s much easier to sit around and complain about the problem, rather than trying to solve it.

    Life and the Fourteenth Amendment!

    As a Christian and a Constitutionalist what gets me really riled in this “life” issue is Obama’s position doesn’t even follow his or the left’s own past positions. In partial birth abortion their whole case revolves around the fact that the child’s head is not outside the womb. If the child’s head was outside the womb, that child would be considered alive and a “Person” having the full U.S. citizen rights under the Constitution. Yet in the case of “Born Alive Infant Protection” the child is fully outside the womb, living and breathing on it’s own, with it’s umbilical cord already cut, and “YES” has full constitutional rights and he won’t even support life then. According to Illinois State law those children got both birth and death certificates. Yet Obama says things like “Since the intention was to kill the child we might as well finish the job” or “It would be to much of a burden to bring in another doctor”. Not to mention the fact that it is illegal to refuse medical help to anyone who needs it at a hospital. Any illegal immigrant can walk into any hospital; have no money and they must receive treatment. Yet this child is left to die, ALONE in that same hospital! The issue of supporting life is more then just a debate about choice and privacy, it is a matter of grave moral injustice.

    There was a time in this country when Obama would have been considered property. Evil would thrive on the backs of this sub-human property that had no human rights. At that time it was being debated just a strong as abortion is today, just as 50 –50, and just as today the debate missed the true point. It split this nation in two. It took one man, Abraham Lincoln (a white man), to stand up with the republican party against this moral injustice. At the time Lincoln was just as unpopular a president as Bush is today, yet, history tells us he was one of the greatest president we have ever had. This, however, does not even compare to the many millions who died to defend Obama’s right to live as a free human. It then took this nation over 100 years, until the conclusion of a the 60’s, to get to the point where true healing would start to take hold. This was Martin Luther King’s Dream, “That one day this country would live up to it’s creed. That all men are “created” equal with inalienable human rights (Life, Liberty, & Pursuit of Happiness)”. So even if “It’s above Obama’s Pay Grade”, it’s wasn’t above the founding father’s. They new that life started at “Creation” and not at birth.

    Obama then needs to remember how many more brave men have died to defend this nation to be a free nation since the civil war. How dare Obama not support life in all forms when so many have given so much to set him free and give him life. I too have gone out and defended Obama while in the military. I today would still defend Obama’s right to life and freedom under the fourteenth amendment, “To My Death”. This is what real Americans do for their countrymen. Just like our brave men & women who volunteer to serve are doing today.

    The Fourteenth Amendment (Amendment XIV) to the United States Constitution is one of the post-Civil War Reconstruction Amendments, first intended to secure the rights of former slaves. It guarantees the due process and equal protection of each state’s laws.

    All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law ; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

    Ok Lets get real! No other issue in this campaign even comes close to this one. Not only does this show Obama is just wrong, but a bold face liar as well. When the LIB’S of all LIB’S stand up in front of the Senate and support this bill, and Obama still voted against it, four times, Then tells the american people “No I Didn’t, They are Liying”, it shows just who is the one truly “OUT OF TOUCH”! If this man’s views are that bad that he would take life and use the Constitution to defend himself, how can he trusted to make any other decision!

    It’s a brilliant article, and I am amazed by both sides.

    It’s true, ‘Abortion’, is a huge deal, and we can keep debating over it for hours.

    Presidential election is no longer about the people of the United States, but the whole world (we are super power, remember?).

    You can start an interest group and take the necessary steps to avoid infanticide.

    Like, mj, suggested, we got lots of issues within the country, which affects the whole world.

    The issue with infanticide can be taken care of by other groups, mayors and other powerful entities. I wouldn’t drag the president into this matter or jump to conclusion based on his protest, without an explanation for his decision.

    Did he explain why he voted against? Correct me, if I am wrong.

    Roosevelt, the line that is always given for Obama’s reason is that the Illinois version of the BAIPA bill did not include a provision (which did exist in the federal version) to protect the health of the mother during the procedure. The only problem is that once the infant is born in the process of the failed abortion, it is no longer a part of the mother and is in fact a fully separate person, in every sense. The health of the mother is no longer an issue, because the baby is not attached to her, so what the #(*@$ is the problem? The baby is alive, it was born regardless of the desires of its mother, and Obama wants to kill it. Sorry, allow it to die. End of story. Where’s the farkin’ millstone?

    MJ, I understand your frustrations, all of which I have blogged about along with other conservatives.

    But I can’t believe that a person smart enough to access the internet and type a message would say abortion is a NON-ISSUE. I mean, before you speak, do you know what abortion is? We’ve lost 4,000 soldiers in Iraq. But America has aborted more than 7,000,000 since 2003. That’s a ratio of 1,750 to 1. That amounts to a loss in future GDP for each child aborted (at zero rate of growth, no less) of $2,250,109. And that dollar amount is an average which means it includes those who will produce and those who won’t. Since 1973, we’ve aborted more than 50 million babies. That’s the population of the top 71 U.S. cities! We’ve killed off an entire generation. Of course not all of them would produce, but most would. The loss of downstream tax revenues from future taxpayers
    aborted since 1970 is $18 trillion (not including Social Security and Medicare). That’s nearly twice the national debt. Hmm, just solved your “more important” issues.

    The Jesus that is my savior never advocated governments to steal from the producers to give the non-producers.

    Let me suggest you read the bible for what it is. Not through the eyes of the sick, twisted, preacher you’ve been listening to.

    Except he fed the 5000 with food that didn’t belong to him. There Jesus goes again, feeding those lazy people who don’t have food for themselves.

    Are you trying to equate the deaths of our soldiers with the abortion of unborn fetuses? How about you stop worrying about what other people are doing and mind your own business.

    Keyword: HE gave them food. He didn’t get the local magistrate to steal a few extra coins per family to pay for it.

    Are you trying to say unborn fetuses are less valuable lives than a soldier? Or, for that matter, a mother, teacher, or plumber? I’ll mind my business when people stop murdering 3,700 babies each day in the U.S. What’s the matter? Facts beat the emotional dogma of liberalism? If you’re a Christian, there’s no way around this issue, so you might as well stop listening to those liars and learn about what God really says and the value He places on life.
