McCain: I am not President Bush
Definitely the slam zinger of the night!
Ed Morrissey says McCain should get a boost from this debate.

Pretty much.
Sure wasn’t the not-really-interested jab and dance at Obama on his ACORN(Marxist)Ayers issues.
What would have been interesting: McCain telling the entire Obama narartive, including the Frank Marshal Davis years and up to Obama’s campaign for Marxist/pro-Islamist despot of Kenya, Raila Odinga.
Barry O looks a little peeved at McCain’s response… Ouch!!!
Smirking.
Cocky.
Self-assured.
Elitist.
Socialist.
Big spender.
No change.
Nobama.
Zero.
I think McCain did a really good job of hammering home the “big spender” message, and Obama helped him a couple of times, first by failing again to tell us what he’d cut out of his plan in light of the economic crisis, and second in his response to the last question, “would you increase federal involvement/spending in education?”. Bob Schieffer gave him some great opportunities to pretend that he could be a cost-cutter, and he dropped the ball both times.
Personally I think the zinger of the night was McCain’s Freudian slip, calling Obama “Senator Government”.
slam dunk? no. mccain looked feeble and lost. i like mccain, but if stating what he ISN’T is the highlight of his campaign (which, sadly, it is) it’s easy to understand why the electorate isn’t embracing him in these desperate times.
