Also, if Joe bought a plumbing business that was bringing in $250K per year chances are he would by it over time in a deal arranged with the owner/seller. This gives the seller a guaranteed cash flow for many years and allows individuals who don't happen to have $250K cash laying around to buy into businesses like this. Medical and dental practices are sold like this quite frequently, so why not plumbing businesses, house cleaning businesses, etc. Careful, your ignorance is showing.
