To Jerry, I would take it one step further. I do not for one moment believe that what Palin has been saying was not done without McCain's blessings. The woman is nothing but McCain's dirty mouthpiece. Anything that is too inflammatory for McCain to utter gets farted out by Palin. In this way McCain hopes to play to two groups: the independents who dislike personal attacks, and the rednecks who like it. And Palin performs real well in that role. All she needs to do is bleat out the same prepared paragraphs over and over. The woman has no independent thought in her little brain, as evidence by her poor performance at interviews, where memorized speeches are less of a help. So make no mistake, Palin may be the mouthpiece but McCain is the crooked brain behind it.

I remember hearing Obama supporters saying they would riot if Hilary won the primary. I also remember that Obama did nothing to discourage it. So why did the media remain so silent about Obama's negligence in addressing terrorism advanced by his supporters?

Still I am not certain the hate speech was always addressing Obama since there is certainly a hatred for the media among those who have suffered mistreatment at its hands.

The little old lady who said Obama was an "arab" turns out to be a GOP activist who confirms her local RNC campaign office is sending out emails saying that... Obama is an arab terrorist.

Google "Gayle Quinnell".

<i>"Claims that Obama is a liar and an associate of terrorists are true so are not hate speech in my book."</i>

No, but claims he is an arab terrorist who wants to introduce sharia law play on racism and are hate speech.

Hence John McCain eightly distanced himself from those claims.

The problem is, his campaign has been playing directly off such fears, to the extent that RNC offices have been deliberately fanning the flames of hate.

Go after Obama on the issues - not on stupidity and hate.

Comparing McCain with George Wallace would be over the top--but not Sarah Palin. Her statements about Obama palling around with terrorists because he sees America as flawed is pure demagogery--the worst in a Presidential campaign during my lifetime. And yes, it invites people to commit violence.
