I don’t trust the government and right now I don’t trust the media either. They are all a bunch of lying spin doctors playing political games to get their own needs met. Is this all possible, sure. Perhaps the Somali pirates are hired by the U.S. government or some other government to attack ships and look through them. I think I’d believe that more. Especially, because if I remember right there was a ship that was being watched closely (my guess the same one the pirates took). Interesting that it worked that way an a little more than a mere concidence if you ask me.

BTW is there any information on the “Russian sources”? How highly placed were they? Putting America and Israel in the position where there too little evidence to convince the international community but too much evidence to ignore the possibility would probably tickle Putin’s funny bone.

A thwarted dirty bomb attack can always be spun as a “faked” incident. As irrational as it is the media will give lots of energy to promoting the idea that Israeli and American spies in Iran did this knowing that they could get partners in the Somali pirate community to pretend to it. When our media is capable of airing 9-11 conspiracy documentaries with a straight face in the name of “objectivity” anything is possible. It is October 18th and most people I know have barely heard of the radiation in the ship, let alone the dirty bomb possibility. The ship may be out to sea now if what I read recently is true.

Unless a plot like this is actually successful it will be completely ignored and if it is successful it will only result in some phony outrage from most people followed by a “they wouldn’t have done this without legitimate grievances” qualification. In the event of mass migration of radiation poisoned and panicking Israelis the media will start to worry about boarder control issues.
