LA Times Calls Sarah Palin A Monkey

Posted on October 7, 2008

While I am still at the LA Times, via the National Review: Lisa Guerrero: Time to end this monkey business?

On Friday night, the Angels’ Rally Monkey let down the home crowd in Anaheim. Although the team triumphed Sunday night in Boston, you can’t credit the monkey unless he sneaked into Jared Weaver’s suitcase.

On Saturday, John McCain’s rally monkey, Sarah Palin, popped up in Carson. Fresh off of her victory over herself at the debate, her campaign let Palin out of the cage to rev up the fan base.

Only problem was that, according to an Associated Press analysis, the lady maverick made some “racially tinged” remarks about Barack Obama. Someone might want to inform Sarah that although comments like that may play well in Wasilla, here in Southern California we celebrate diversity along with divisional championships.

Now back to the other primate.

Um, OK, this is the sports page of the LA Times. I do read it a bunch, since I am a Dodgers fan. Long suffering Dodgers fan. She was writing about getting rid of the Angels’ rally monkey, cause she doesn’t like it. Fans sure seem to, though. Yet, through PDS, she felt she had to insert that idiocy into her story. Celebrate diversity, call Palin a monkey. I might agreed with her if she had left it alone after the second paragraph of the excerpt, because there is no doubt that Palin does the same thing. But, the last 2 showed Guerro’s biases and stupidity.

I wonder if any of those bastion’s of civil liberties and defamation will jump in? I can turn Dodger Blue holding my breath!

Yeah - McCain implied Palin was Pig, not a monkey (lipstick on a pig). So, L.A. Times should apologize. The nerve. If anyone had called Hillary a name, the right wing would be right at her defense, wouldn’t we?

    P.K.

I think the issue here is that the Palin comment was made on the sport’s page.

“Only problem was that, according to an Associated Press analysis, the lady maverick made some “racially tinged” remarks about Barack Obama. Someone might want to inform Sarah that although comments like that may play well in Wasilla, here in Southern California we celebrate diversity along with divisional championships.”

The above statement was thrown in, and had nothing to do with the rest of the article. Just a cheap shot calling Palin a racist.

First…how is it “racially tinged” to talk about BHO having white terrorist friends?
Second…..DU is taking it one step further and announcing that since palin is WEARING WHITE [OMG! OMG!] she is INCITING people to hatred.
    not kidding…check out malkin.

Of course, if Obama had been called a monkey, there would be an uproar of epic proportions.

Still, maybe Guerro’s just upset because she is far below the monkey level on the evolutionary ladder.

From my vantage point Sarah Palin is despised by the primehates for two reasons.

    (1) She is more qualified to be Vice President than Barack Obama is to be President. This is a quality the Democrats need to destroy.

    (2) Sarah Palin counters Hillary’s roll as the dominate female political personality. In the words of that Chicago priest ‘… Hillary feels entitled …’ and Sarah represents a serious challenge.
