Frank Luntz Group: Palin Wins

Posted on October 2, 2008

Frank Luntz focus group was overwhelmingly in agreement that Palin won this debate. She was confident, and totally blew the lid off the frame the media tried to put around her neck. She connected with the American people, and folks felt her energy was refreshing. The Drudge poll says 75 to 25 in her favor. AJ Strata is asking for a job in the administration. It went good for Sarah! Dick Morris Just Said Palin has connected in a Way not Seen Since Reagan!

Red Stater:

Even democrat strategist Kirsten Powers and liberal pundit Mort Kondracki gave the debate to Sarah Palin. Kondracki said… “She connected with the average American while Joe Biden talked in Senate-speak”.
Powers said… “Biden didn’t commit any major gaffe’s, but she (Palin) got the better of it.”

The Frank Luntz focus group comprised of independents half of whom voted for John Kerry in 2004, overwhelmingly said Palin won the debate. While a dozen or more said Palin changed their minds and they now support McCain, only one person in the group said he changed his mind in support of Obama.

Sleepy Eyed Whiners: Sarah Rocked Again!

Don Surber:

The moose hunter bags another one.

Biden has veered off the facts into Daily Kos land. Biden saying Republican John McCain was wrong on the war.

Two words: The Surge.

Palin has sliced this guy bad. She shows he knows nothing about energy, the economy and the war. Every answer he has is Bush, Bush, Bush.

He’s scripted. She’s not.

Biden’s lying. She’s not.

I don’t know if she can still save McCain, but she got game.

Line of the night: Doggone it, Joe.

Raging Rightwing Republican:

Palin dominated! This is just like her RNC speech all over again. People went into this debate expecting McCain’s candidacy to die on stage, but she not only upset expectations, she blew them apart. She was charming, folksy, on message and unfaltering. She managed to jab Biden and Obama hard without appearing mean. She presented a story of herself and McCain.

The Federalist Paupers:

This is the greatest, most important vice presidential nomination ever. She will be president.

That is all.

Michelle Malkin:

Bottom line: Sarah rocks. Biden’s tired.

First, I would like to see all the Sarah doubters and detractors in the Beltway/Manhattan corridor eat their words.

Eat them.

Sarah Palin is the real deal. Five weeks on the campaign trail, thrust onto the national stage, she rocked tonight’s debate.

She was warm, fresh, funny, confident, energetic, personable, relentless, and on message. She roasted Obama’s flip-flops on the surge and tea-with-dictators declarations, dinged Biden’s bash-Bush rhetoric, challenged the blame-America defeatism of the Left, and exuded the sunny optimism that energized the base in the first place.

McCain has not done many things right. But Sarah Palin proved tonight that the VP risk he took was worth it.

Sister Toldjah:

My personal view: Goooo Sarah! She did great. I still wish she’d have brought up Dodd and Frank, tho.

Erik Erickson:

Sarah Palin just field dressed Joe Biden like a moose. She was awesome. She connected with the people. She had fun. She was relaxed. She was awesome.

Biden literally blew this debate — sighing heavily in the microphone. Rolling his eyes. Being condescending. Flagrantly lying about policies that Palin repeatedly called him on.

Ifill herself did wind up showing her bias. She rarely gave Palin the last word. By the end of the debate it was almost 3 to 1 with Biden getting the last word. She also tried to disrupt Palin’s relationship with evangelicals by framing gay marriage around Alaska, mischaracterizing it too. LIkewise with global warming.

The line of the night will be “Say it ain’t so, Joe.” Palin was willing to break with the GOP and show how Biden and Obama have not ever broken with the Democrats.

She was smiling, gregarious, and clearly enjoying the night.

Even DailyKos founder says Palin won!

The Anchoress has a nice roundup.
Flopping Aces has a nice roundup too.

The facts show Barack Obama as the Fascist-Marxist plant that he is.

Web Search: “Barack Obama and the Strategy of Crisis”

There, you will see how his unbroken string of “radical” (anti-American Marxist) connections comes together.

    The dots are getting connected.

I heard and read so many rumors about this woman.

I am one of those who didn’t like her (because of reading and listening to MSM too much).

    I am sorry.

After the debate tonight, I want Sarah Palin to be the President of United States of America.

May God bless us with a President that is People’s Champion! We need it badly.

Sarah was great. What I liked most is how she took charge of the debate. Since they were only debating once, no matter what Gwen asked, she often brought the answer back to energy. She hit home how drilling and energy independence is the KEY to our future and the future of our economy.

She was AWESOME! The picture of optimism, forward thinking and grace under fire. I can’t imagine how she has held up so well after a month or more of constant attacks by the media and the leftwing blogs. She’s a real lady…smart, sharp and on point. I love her delivery and completely relate to her as an American and as a woman.

Palin proved a lot of people wrong tonight. We had seven people over for the debate, three of them independents. Each of the Indy’s said that the way Biden rolled his eyes and smiled when he disagreed with Sarah made them uneasy about him. I’m sure that many of the undecideds feel the same. Palen bobbed and weaved like a debate pro when she wanted to finish a thought and give little time to the question asked. She’s awesome and connected well with the average voter.

Has anyone else noticed that Joe Biden cries whenever someone points a TV camera at him? Maybe someone should ask him why that is, because it seems pretty phony to me.

    Palin rocks.

It reminds me of the first Kennedy-Nixon debate. The majority of people who only read the transcript gave the victory to Nixon. Several times, Biden had the better of Palin with specific facts.

However visual intangibles not caught on paper or the news readers’ brains won the debate for Sarah Palin. I hope this wins some votes for the ticket.

No matter how the election turns out the governor will still be around. I hope she is our president some day.

  8. Lets hope the election is this close, what happens if its a tie? on October 3rd, 2008 12:48 pm

Surely you need a greater margin than 2 percent to declare victory in the Palin Biden debate ?

McCain better bring it Tuesday. I’m nervous.

I have to hand it to Gov. Palin, she certainly moved the polls! But I have to imagine it wasn’t part of the plan for her to move the polls in the favor of Obama.!
You morons can whistle past the graveyard all you want, but the truth is evident to all of sane America: Palin is a joke. And McCain is a stiff.
    Enjoy Nov. 4! I know I will!
