Hispanic advocates have been asking Johnston County Sheriff Steve Bizzell to resign for weeks. On Sunday, they took their request to the steps of the county courthouse.
A multiracial throng numbering more than 100 gathered to pray for an end to racism and voice their outrage over comments that they say denigrated Hispanic immigrants.
In a Sept. 7 story in The News & Observer, Bizzell referred to Mexicans as “trashy” and said Hispanics were “breeding like rabbits.” He said a growing Hispanic population was committing crimes, sapping social services and threatening traditional culture. Many of his statements encompassed both legal and illegal immigrants.
Apparently, Free Speech is not allowed when discussing illegal immigrants. It is now “racism” to denigrate people who come to our country illegally, breaking the law, damaging our economy, making a mess of things, killing, raping, and robbing our citizens, not bothering to learn the language. And, Bizzell was primarily referring to illegals, not legals, though, he is not happy with the migrant workers who come here and act in the same despicable manners.
And a group of Johnston County pastors plans to discuss racial tension caused by the sheriff’s comments.
Wait. Didn’t I just write two stories today where the media is upset about right side mixing of religion and politics being bad, according to the MSM?

The harassment of Sheriff Steve Bizzell is an outright abomination! He keeps Johnston County N.C. safe. He spoke an unfortunate truth without sugar coating the message. He should have used more tact when presenting the problems that this issue has posed to the county. For this he has already publicly apologized. The ACLU, NAACP and others should not be appeased by Their constant harassing the good Sheriff. Look at the statistics of who is responsible for a majority of the hit and run accidents here. Many have occured in death, injury and property damage at the hands of illegal immigrant drivers. Anyone can check the crime stat records of reported crimes here. Illegals are breaking the laws and driving without driver’s licences in Johnston County and many reighboring Counties! I have personally pointed out theft situations by illegals stealing from Walmart on US 70 in the past. I personally chased two of them away from attempting to break into a car in the parking lot of Walmart on another occasion, with my family present. If people don’t like the news and facts that the Sheriff has mentioned, then they should take it up with Immigration and not beat up on the bearer of the bad news. In this case, Sheriff Bizzell. Local hospitals must treat injured illegals by law here. Guess who’s paying the hospital bill when they skip out with no I.D. or Fraudulent I.D. without paying the hospital bill? You and I! Johnston County is thriving with the influx of new families, homes and businesses, with some still currently being built, now at a slower pace. My area was reported to eventually become the next Wake Forrest. That says alot for the County, especially in a time of countrywide economical strife. This good fortune is not a fluke but merely because of the great reputation that the County has earned as a great place to live and do business. I personally attribute part of this good fortune to Sheriff Bizzell and his Department, their vigilant hard work helped make it that way! It is time to back up our law enforcement and stop pandering to blood thirsty anarchists who will oppose the law at the drop of a hat! The N.A.A.C.P. and A.C.L.U. as well as others have carried this issue too far! The same N.A.A.C.P. Reverand speaking on the Smithfield courthouse steps, at today’s prayer vigil, was the same person calling for The Duke Lacrosse Player’s Heads on a silver platter, the same kids who were all proven innocent after being demonized by this Reverand, all at the hands of a lying prostitute. Shame on this supposed Reverand! The Bible has a lesson on “Bearing False Witness”! Time to support your local law enforcement. I have seen firsthand the damage to society when local law enforcement is not backed up by the public. These so called Rights Organizations want a “Hands Off Policy” for their constituency. I find it odd that B. Obama was in N.C. yesterday telling the folks that he would take the state with their help and today, the N.A.A.C.P. just happens to be stirring the pot with the Hispanic Community over misspoken words. Hmmm? Could they just be drumming up Obama votes under the guise of actually caring about illegal immigrants? Sounds like some dirty politics may have a role in this drama. Policy in Johnston County should not be dictated by outsiders with a negative agenda. Lets not allow that to happen here! Beware, your County may be targeted next!
In my opinion, someone is “pulling the wool over” the eyes of Johnston Co.
I live on the same road as steve bizzell and he did NOT protect and serve me.
A hunter put out scraps mixed w/ a deadly pesticide Counter. I became sick 3 times after dealing with animals dying in my garden and holding a dying pet full of the poison. I nearly died in the hospital and have my medical records to prove it!
. steve bizzell stated to my sister that he knew who was doing the poisoning, and in fact had known it FOR YEARS!
In the end all I got, when the cases were dropped, was ILD, dead pets and other animals , and a knowlege that was NO JUSTICE FOR ME AND NONE FOR THE DOZENS OF ANIMALS THAT WERE MURDERED. ALL UNDER THE WATCHFUL EYE OF THE sHERIFF!
The cases were closed and never resolved.
He will have to answer to a higher being, to explain the reason he allowed this serial animal killer to get away with murder of all those poor animals…… And knowing I was sick and sat back and did nothing….. Oh he did say quote “I made it hot and he got out of the kitchen” one of his great mediphors.
In my opinion, the hunters and farmers (who found dead animals on their land) and the farmer that sold the poison to begin with… wanted these cases to “go away” and they did.
