Not sure that 4 USC covers this. WOuld have to see the shirt. Regardless, it is not up to the school to enforce this.

I might add that even though I agree with 4 USC it is not a code with penalties as burning a flag violates it (unless properly disposing) and the courts have ruled this legal.

It also states that the flag is considered a living breathing entity.

Be that as it may, this is not a matter for the school to decide. I am willing to bet I can go to the school and find it in violation…

As for the Obama T shirt. Wear a McCain one to parent teacher night. Also, tell the principal that it is a violation of their own dress code…

I have a further observation (read = wish) that the parents of this kid should sue the school teacher for touching their son, ripping off the microphone while he was talking to the media. In the law, that’s simple battery.

I’m not sure the school was out of line, here’s why:

US Code TITLE 4
CHAPTER 1, § 8.
Respect for flag

(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker’s desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.

I am all for patriotism, and there is a time and a place for everything; the yellow shirt was rediculous however, and over the line.

Another Liberal running a school that hates America. Why don’t they all just pack there stuff and get the hell out of America if they hate this country so much. They will not leave because they can’t do this kinda stuff any where else in the world and get away with it. Or they could give them their own state and build a wall around it and call it Escape from Liberal Zoo. It would be like a big lab experiment. We would get to watch them turning on each other.

Now we got to keep an eye out on the schools we are sending are kids. Its really sad.

Un-freaking-believable. I say we call this school and request an explanation. “Who exactly did this shirt offend?”

This site does a great job in identifying these types of mis-behaviour. However, it may be time to create an additional site to start placing names/places/pictures of these actions.
