There is no way McCain is going to get a fair shake from the media. While his campaign has done some brilliant work thus far, he should have been ready for this one and reacted immediately, painting exactly the picture you and other have done, reinforced with the facts. Unfortunately he didn't, starting out with his 'fundamentals are sound' and wobbled around a bit after that. I hope that he can promptly regain the initiative on this because Obama has fallen completely on his face, basically displaying his timidity and lack of depth. Neither has performed well on this particular issue in my opinion.

I'd also like to see additional emphasis on drilling as this has disappeared from the top of the agenda. Figure the bailout will cost us 700B, and drilling will bring that money in faster than just about anything else that can be done. High paying jobs, American resources and technology, American wealth. Link these two issues and Republicans have a better platform to stand on than complaining about the pathetic media.

Both parties are to blame for this mess. Both parties pushed the idea that every American should own their own home, when in fact that is not possible.

The Democrats wanted everyone to own a home because that's a major step in the American Dream. The Republicans wanted everyone to own a home because it was profitable.

It's ridiculous that you're still pointing fingers and trying to find blame. I think we can all agree that fixing the economy should be the main focus.
