Palin/Obama comparisons are interesting. Up until the selection of Palin, critics hammered Obama about his experience and celebrity status. Now, Palin gets the same treatment.

As pointed out in the recent time magazine article about Obama, detractors were also apt to hover around “the things that Obama hasn’t said”, and then saw fit to fill in the blanks and project their doubts and fears about the candidate.

Well, likewise, when will we hear Palin’s views about Islam?

We will learn that she deeply believes that Islam is inherently violent and, in fact, inherently evil.

This is consistent with her righteous view that “Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God”, as Palin has said.

When Charlie Gibson asked Palin if she thought we were on a holy war, she cleverly dodged the question. Like George Bush, she subscribes to the world-view that American is and should be engaged in a clash of civilizations with Islam.

Like Obama, we can find doubt about Palin by considering the statements of Palin’s former Pastor Tim McGraw. As McGraw recently told CNN, “I think there may be issues of belief that could be misunderstood or played upon by people that don’t know.”

Or maybe we should know her beliefs, since she is campaigning for Vice President?

She was unequivocal in stating her support for Israel. Like many Pentecostals, Palin subscribes to the devote belief that Israel must occupy the Holy Land as a perquisite to the Apocalypse.

Furthermore, check these clash videos I found yesterday about the US Presidential candidates have talked taxes. Well, it's entitled Obama v. McCain on Taxes. Watch these statements - then vote in http://clashorama.com/index.php?id=194

Um..."Yourloved." Do you believe what you wrote or are you being funny? If you believe it, I have two questions for you to ponder.

1. You say the 'consequences of my sinful nature.' Who created you? (answer here) And if God created all that is, including you, then did God not 'create' your sinful nature? If God did create your sinful nature, doesn't it feel like a bad practical joke? I mean, think of it this way...you are created in the image of God, you are his children, and you had no choice in the matter - you were simply created with a sinful nature that you need to pay for - doesn't quite seem fair to me. It'd be like giving your kid a candybar and then hitting her hard in the face forever, throughout eternity, for taking a bite of it.

If, however, you use the valuable lessons in the bible as to how to treat other people, but don't believe it's truly real, then I guess you'll be okay. I just like to think about what it might have been like to be Christ, a healer, one who did believe all people were created equal (unlike the Republicans), and treated everyone with enduring kindness. Try that on for a day and see how it feels, then ask yourself, would Christ be okay with my burning in eternal hell? I think you'll be surprised by the answer. And, through it all, just remember that there really is no proof. If there were, there would probably not be so many different religions in the world.

Peace.

Okay. While it's possible no one will read this comment, I need to write it anyway. Obama did not mock McCain's disability. In fact, the first time I heard a McCain spokesperson say, "He can't use a keyboard," I was shocked. Shocked that they would even imply it. Obama mocked McCain's lack of knowledge on the subject. Whether that's a legitimate concern or not, I don't know, BUT he did not mock his disability. Remember, he has ahold of the younger crowd, all of whom would see any person who doesn't use the internet as being very, very old and dusty.

By the way, if John McCain wished to use the internet and a keyboard and a mouse, there are many ways to do so. I've worked with children with severe disabilities - significantly more confining - who use the internet. I would imagine all John would need was an ergonomic setup that would suit his needs.

Oh, and Bush was not chosen by God to invade Iraq. Unless that God intended to kill a million innocent Iraqis. In the event that you can say to yourself, "It's all God's will.," please just imagine the reality of this. We're talking body parts, parents whose children were just blown up, children whose parents were killed in front of them, and a darker gloom that hangs over every minute of their existence for the past 5 years - or is it 6 years - Well, it's not my God doing this, I can tell you that.

Peace.

WHY DID JESUS CHRIST DIED? WAS IT BECAUSE HE WAS BORED AND HAD NOTHING TO DO, OR COULD IT BE THAT HE IS GENUINELY TRYING TO SAVE ME FROM AN ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE AND TERRIFYING FATE THAT AWAITS ME AFTER I DIE? ADDITIONALLY, WHAT DOES HIS DEATH ON A CROSS 2000 YEARS AGO HAVE TO DO WITH ME?

Well, I was born in sin, regardless of whether or not I am a good person who live a good life. Because I was born in sin, I deserve to die and go to hell. However, God's love for me is so deep and intense that he refuse to sit by and allow me to suffer the consequences of my sinful nature. As a result, God sent his son, JESUS CHRIST, to die on a cross for me, so that, through his shed blood, I can go to heaven instead of hell when I die. All he asked in return is that I acknowledge and admit that I am a sinner who is in need of a savior, then intern, genuinely ask God to come into my heart and change my life.

I may not agree with what I have just read, but the reality is, my unbelief does not change the authenticity of the statement and the purpose for which Jesus Christ died for me. The fact is, one day I will die, and if I do not accept JESUS CHRIST as my savior I will end up in hell and THAT IS THE TRUTH WHETHER OR NOT I BELIEVE IT.

McCain is losing his integrity because he is trying to win an election.

His supporters are clueless to why they are doing it.

ohn McCain is a disgrace. He is pandering to women trying to get their vote.I am a 74 yr old woman and I see the kind of person he is, with the typical Republican dirty politics. He faught it when running against Bush in 2000,and now he is using the same Carl Rove and his dirty tricks.I don’t care if Sarah Palin is a gun toting mama. She stands on the wrong side of women. The ones who faught for their freedom of choice and are still are fighting for equal pay.
She is spouting lies like the rest of them, and is a typical money grabbing politician.

This was a stupid ad, I must say. There would be much better ways to make the point Obama claims he was trying to make. McCain probably gets emotional about vets and their families because he's consistently screwed them with his votes against vet benefits, and vet families access to information.
