It is one of the very smallest by population, with a population smaller than that of Delaware, the smallest state in square miles. And Alaska is so awash in oil money that it could be managed by a dog and still run surpluses. Decades of corrupt politicians running the state haven't hurt them. I agree that the Obama-Reagan comparison is absurd, but the Palin-Reagan one is equally absurd. Alaska is nothing like California. Nothing at all. Running California is a big job, and neither of them (nor Biden and McCain) have that kind of experience.
