Palin’s speech brings a ratings blowout; over 50% of voters think the media is trying to hurt her.
Posted on September 4, 2008
Sarah Palin was just a hair away from beating Obama’s record-breaking viewership. She got a whopping 37.2 million viewers tuning in on only six networks, as opposed to Obama’s ten.
Imagine if she’d gotten the same air time.
* The Sara Palin speech generated 37.2 million viewers, just a 1.1 million viewers short of Barak Obama’s record-breaking speech on Day 4 of the Democratic Convention. The Palin speech was carried on only six networks while the Obama speech was carried on ten (including BET, TV One, Univision and Telemundo).
* Palin attracted a large female audience (19.5 million women, or 4.9 million more than Day 3 of the Democratic Convention).
* Ratings for viewers 55+ (25.2) continue to be about ten times higher than for teens (2.2)
* Day 3 for the GOP attracted more Hispanic viewers (1.4 million) than Day 3 of the Democratic Convention (1.2 million), even though Univision and Telemundo did not carry the speech.
Kim Priestap puts this in great perspective:
Earlier today, Obama said – in an effort to show that he’s had it tougher on the campaign trail than Palin – that he’s had 19 months of campaign scrutiny as compared to only 4-5 days for Palin. Think about that. Obama has had 19 months to sharpen his image, to get his message out, to tour Europe, and to run ads, while Palin only had a mere 4 to 5 days, yet her viewership came within an eyelash of Obama’s? Wow. If those who are running the Obama campaign are smart, they are terrified right now.
No wonder the Obama campaign and the mainstream media are so scared. Sarah Palin is a powerhouse, and the American people are falling in love with her, despite all of their best efforts. (Don’t they know that the only rock star is Obama?!)
Unfortunately, the ignorant rubes in flyover country are catching on. Over 50% of voters think the media is trying to hurt her.
Over half of U.S. voters (51%) think reporters are trying to hurt Sarah Palin with their news coverage, and 24% say those stories make them more likely to vote for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in November.
Of course, the idiots in the MSM will just keep on with the vitriol. Objectivity? Professionalism? Please! They’ve got a savior to elect!

Sarah Palin took a town with $0 debt in 1996 and left it $22 million in the hole in 2002, mostly from the hockey rink/sports complex she shoved down their throats which never became the money generator she promised it would. Another white elephant from another white elephant.
Even with the stable Clinton economy during most of her mayoral tenure and Jack Abramoff’s crony she hired to lobby Washington to help her now indicted buddy Ted Stevens ring up $27 million in federal pork for tiny Wasilla (pop. 5000 when she entered office) she still managed to leave the town swimming in debt. Three of her pork projects even made McCain’s own wasteful spending list.
The following organization is the offshoot of President Reagan’s Private Sector Survey on Cost Control started in 1984, also known as the Grace Commission. Definitely not a Dem friendly group but even these guys apparently think Alaska is America’s welfare queen state.

As governor she is borrowing from Alaska’s future while she wants to blow today’s Alaskan windfall oil tax bonanza and the huge surpluses they’ve generated on bread and circuses tax giveaways.
Alaska gets 89% of it’s operating budget from taxing oil coming out of the ground just like Arab kingdoms and Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela. They have no state income or sales tax up there. Instead of using that windfall to pay for all the profligate spending her Republican legislature keeps sending her she’s issuing bonds to pay for it which Alaskans and US taxpayers will have to pay off in future years while she takes credit for tax “rebates” while she’s governor.
Her fiscal policy is a disaster in the making which won’t hit til she’s left the governor’s office. She’d be a disaster as Vice President especially to a President who despite his grevious wounds and type A personality is already past the age his father and grandfather died of sudden heart attacks.
She can put on all the lipstick she wants but her political record is for the dogs.
Like hell people are “scared” of Palin. OK, I’m scared that if I hear the moose poopy that comes out of her mouth, or hear that brittle tone of voice, I might retch. I guess that makes me scared. To be sure, she’s a little scary with all those dead animals that she uses as office conversation pieces. but people are not scared of her. Maybe bears, caribou and wolves are. I must admit, however, I am fascinated. I’d love to see the college transcripts that made her switch schools five times in six years. Wanna hear some more scary stuff: McCain’s class rank at Annapolis: 894 out of 899. Obama’s rank at Harvard Law School: 1 Do the math, suckers!
