Nancy, sorry to be so long answering. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I share your enthusiasm.

Now if we can just get to the ballot box without a major gaffe from anyone.

I'm not going to get in the middle of this highly entertaining debate. All I want to say to Maggie is - WAY TO GO GIRL! I'm with you on every point you make and am extremely excited about the Republican ticket. I haven't been this energized to vote in over 25 years; the Dems should be warry of where and to what they [so vitriolically] speak!

Eric, I've listened to every word and Scalia and Roberts have made it clear that they will not overturn Roe v Wade. Believe me, Roe v Wade is far from the first issue on my mind, but not the same for you, it seems.

As to my "scholarship," I've never claimed such, but I have as much right to place my thoughts on the web as you do to place yours here.

Belittling a man who CHOSE to be sworn into the Senate where he has made Millions - as do all Senators. What are you thinking? And what high-paying job has Palin taken?

As to other belittlement of Biden, remember his son speaking of how he took the train home each evening to be with his motherless family? Remember how the Left boo-hooed that Palin should be home with her family? In their dreams. She will live 10 minutes away from office, and her husband will be available for the children when she isn't.

No one questioned Joe Biden, and everyone gave him credit for his children - one of whom is following in his political footsteps as, I think, State Attorney General. If you want to criticize Palin's parenting, beware, because there is much that be can said about Biden's adult children.

I do not believe the choice was based on gender. You know Eric, there are only two genders. If choosing a woman is a loathsome thing designed to bring down Barack, well...how very sexist of you. You disqualify more than half of the Republican voters.

Maybe Obama rejected Hillary because she's a woman. Democrats in power NEVER put minorities into high office. Long history there.

I think she really proved herself a force to be reckoned with; a very powerful and potent speaker. It's only once one looks beyond the facade that one see's the horrible truth. What she has said truly disturbs and infuriates me; how dare you mock someones adversity and experience! How dare you belittle a man who almost lost his entire family in a car accident and a man who CHOSE to serve the public rather than take a high-paying job! And Maggie, if you really think that the decision to pick Palin wasn’t based on gender then you’re naive, lacking the scholarship to make an informed comment. Despite what you may feel about Barack, he won’t overturn Roe V. Wade, and if you really listened like you claim, you’d be making very different comments, which further demonstrates your lack of scholarship.

Donald, I don't know the truth of this yet, but I'm reading that the trooper used a taser on his son (Palin's nephew) and other things. I'm going to stay positive and learn what the truth is.

BTW, he's still employed as a trooper, I think.

No Maggie,
The tropper gate investigation is on-going and not looking good for Sarah... Often the cover up is worse than the crime... Sound kinda like what is going on in the current administration. So third term issue is getting even more applicable.

Well Donald, with an 80% approval rating, the people feel she has been strong in cleaning up abuse of power. Is that what you intended to say?

The old "Bush third term" whine is no longer relevant.

Phyllis, who's toilet are you viewing? Mine looks like this: unemployment is low, (that means people are working if they want to, Phyllis), the economy grew at 3.3% in the second quarter, inflation is low, housing is stabilizing (wouldn't have been a problem in the first place if people had not accepted, irresponsibly, loans they couldn't pay for), oil is down (and would not have been a problem had we drilled and used our own resources - incredibly stupid that we did not - now that we're talking about it...oil is down. We now know that the derricks can probably handle a hurricane), Iraq is better, and Afghanistan is being handled.

You care about how much the war costs. Many of us worry about how much those of your ilk cost us in renewed jihad interest because jihadists think America is soft.

NOW PHYLLIS, SINCE YOU SHOUTED ABOVE, I'LL ALSO SHOUT IT OUT: YOU ARE OH SO RIGHT. IRAN HAS MORE RESPECT FOR OBAMA - because they know he (Obama) won't come after her and her Mullahs. Remember, half of his family is Islamic.

How dare YOU insult women by thinking the gender issue is the only reason McCain picked Palin. You are fooling yourself and falling into your own trap. How do you know that his pick is a "last minute tactic?" Her name was mentioned months ago, and then subsequently mentioned after.

This woman in America is wide awake, and not only am I awake but I listen to and think about the issues. There are many savvy American women. You underestimate them.

I applaud Gov. Palin on her accomplishments. However, DO YOU REALLY WANT THIS WOMAN AT THE HEAD OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AT A TIME WHEN THE ECONOMY IS IN THE TOILET; WE ARE FIGHTING A WAR THAT IS COSTING US MORE MONEY THAN ANY WAR IN THE HISTORY OF THIS COUNTRY, AND MCCAIN WANTS TO CONTINUE IT FOR AT LEAST 100 MORE YEARS; THE FORCES OF EVIL IN IRAN HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR OBAMA THAN BUSH AND HIS CRONIES (MCCAIN ET AL.); AND MCCAIN DOESN'T STAND FOR CHANGE WHEN HE ADMITTEDLY VOTED 90% OF THE TIME ON BUSH ISSUES!! Wake up women of America. Do not be blind-sided by a woman running for office. How dare the Republicans insult your intelligence by just last-minute tactics, taking your mind off of the condition we are in, THE WORST IN 25 YEARS!!
