Obama Can’t Be A Good Father While President
Posted on August 30, 2008
Barry himself says “Children without fathers in their lives are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime, nine times more likely to drop out of school, and 20 times more likely to end up in prison.” Being President is a 24/7 job, constantly on the move, in meetings, making decisions, pumping the flesh, meeting donors, talking to Congress. He has 2 children. How can he possibly put himself in a position where his kids do not really have a father and the influence of a father?
And the First Ladies have quite a bit to do, and Michelle Obama seems to be a major activist. So the kids will hardly ever see their mother. How can the Obama’s put their children in to such a position? How can they leave those kids without the love and guidance that only a parent can give? Will they just dump their kids into the type of child care system that Obama wants to pass? For SHAME!
Yes, it is a dumb, insulting, disgusting argument. But, it is almost the reverse of what many on the left are saying about Sarah Palin, ie, how can she have the time to take care of a young baby with Downs Syndrome while performing the job of Vice President. John Roberts of CNN was one of the first of the idiots to make the suggestion, and now the talking points are making the rounds from the Nutosphere. Along with saying she should have had an abortion, in the grand old tradition of Adolph Hitler, Paul Ehrlich, and Margaret Sanger.
If you scroll the usual suspects in the Credentialed Media, you can see the sexism and ultra-partisanship in their assaults on Palin. Remember, these same folks barely said a word about the choice of Joe Biden, and all the baggage he carries.
Media Matters themselves noted all the sexism during the media coverage, though they didn’t bother denouncing it.
Disgusting and sexist comments emanated from Channel 7 in Denver, when they thought the mike was off. Michelle Malkin has the story.
Of course, there is nothing like a good feminist Democrat having a tizzy and saying that the pick of Palin is a bad thing.
And, of course, Excitable Andy is having his normal hissy fit. Why does he even bother pushing his book anymore, since he is in the tank for No Experience Obama, who couldn’t be farther from a conservative?
Moving on to the nuts at Huffington Post
I’m going to be very blunt, here. I wish Senator McCain a very long and happy life. But, at age 72 with a history of cancer, John McCain may not live through his first term, if elected. That would make Sarah Palin our Commander in Chief. I, and other vets and troops, have about 60 days to determine if she’ll grow to be ready.
Jon Soltz then goes on to tell us that Obama has experience from chairing the foreign relations committee (a committee, BTW, where he rarely showed up). But, we all know that when a Liberal talks about foreign affairs, they do not mean promoting America and protecting her and her interests, but making the big city French love us.
Anyhow, since I am going down many alternate roads, what does Barry have to say?
“From the first moment a woman dared to speak that hope - dared to believe that the American Dream was meant for her too - ordinary women have taken on extraordinary odds to give their daughters the chance for something else; for a life more equal, more free, and filled with more opportunity than they ever had. In so many ways we have succeeded, but in so many areas we have much work left to do.”
I read that, and I see a presidential candidate who would agree that disgusting and sexist attacks on Sarah Palin, including the ones that mention her “disabled” baby, are out of bounds and beyond the the pale, and should be stopped.
You tell ‘em, Big O!

Doris G. Knight wrote about president Abraham Lincoln’s family raising problems, joys, and tragedy (son’s death) in her excellent book A TEAM OF RIVALS. All this was done while he was learning enough about military and economic subjects to win the Civil War–it was a very close thing–the North (our country now) almost lost all. His COURAGE, TOUGHNESS, CHARACTER, and good advice / knowledge from his cabinet members saved OUR country. This seems to have been an “On the job training” situation.
Who knows what would have happened if Lincoln had been killed or had died a year earlier? Could the vice president and cabinet have continued the war successfully? Both Mr. Obama and Mrs. (not “Ms.”) Palin have experience questions in their resumes and job knowledge. At least she has served in the executive (not legislative) branch of government and has probably prepared a state budget. Mr. Obama has prepared some budget busting earmarks!
Ms. Palin showed her strong character in not aborting her own baby (not fetus) when she knew it had Down’s syndrome. Mr. Obama is O.K. with aborting any baby–any time. Guess who showed the real character and Christian love? Actions always speak louder than words.
I TRUST MRS. PALIN’S JUDGEMENT AND CHARACTER A LOT MORE THAN I TRUST MR. OBAMA’S WILLINGNESS TO SACRIFICE PRINCIPLES (AND UNBORN LIVES) FOR HIS ADVANCEMENT.
Rocketman
Very good article and I thank you for it. There is another thing which I would like to draw attention to and namely to the 2004 presidential election. As you may remember JOHN KERRY selected for his VP JOHN EDWARDS. Well, John Edwards had at the time four children, the youngest Jack was 4 years old AND his devoted wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, which as we know is one of the deadliest cancer forms for women.
Now my friends can anyone remember if JOHN EDWARDS was ever asked if he is fit to be C-i-C with a young kid and family and a sick wife? No. But then again he was a man.
I am no fan of George Bush or Dick Cheney, but when I look Kerry and Edwards today I am sure glad they did not become next president and VP of this country.
This is a DISGRACE!!!! The obama gang better back off this pregnant teen story - that they put out and now act outraged. Same dirty political tricks used on Hillary Clinton - woman will rally and vote this FRAUD out! OBama was born to a teen unwed mother - is this OK????
This is 2008 - NOT l970’s - woman can have a Baby - and a career.
WHO is watching the obama girls while mommy works - and bidens’s???? Let’s investigate their child care plans.
SHAME on the Media for even going there!
I don’t have a problem with Mrs. Palin or her daughter’s pregnancy, and I agree with the statement that obama made that families and especially children should be off limits. I think the feeding frenzy over it is disturbing, and I think that men and women should be held to the same standard - but traditionally, women have been the caretakers for children, and those who uphold traditional family values are more likely to insist on that. I would expect that if Obama had a teenage daughter who was pregnant, that the criticism from the right would probably be fierce. Just to be fair, am I right?
Good post. I came here through a google search looking for articles that criticize Obama for his decision to run for President with small children. As you can guess, there weren’t many articles.
But maybe it should be and hopefully it will. Where are all the liberal women condemning Barack Obama for not being an equal partner in their family. Instead they’re snuggled close to Obama and cold to Palin. True colors.
As far as the criticism if Obama had a teenage daughter who was pregnant. We wouldn’t know. Remember, if his daughters make a mistake, he wouldn’t want them “punished with a baby.”
