And The Thunder Rolls

The pealing of thunder from the heavens which was supposed to be rolling across the landscape today with Obama’s historic ascension as the official nominee for President on the Democratic ticket last night was deftly stolen in a shrewd move by John McCain in choosing Governor Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate.

The nutroots are trying to play down the decision and have already started their attack by calling her a trollop (they called Cindy McCain even worse).

And Allahpundit over at hotair has a decent post up about the attacks Palin is likely to face.

But there’s a few things I wish to add so we get a jump on them, as I am sure they’ll be brought up soon enough by the nutroots as attack angles.

Palin used to tried smoke pot. (which she didn’t like and was legal at the time.)

So what, Obama did coke. (which was not legal at the time)

Pot smokers, at worse, want to lay around, watch TVLand and munch on junk food. On the plus side of it maybe we can glean some support from the medical marijuana crowd. The only problem with that is the danger you have of them completely forgetting to vote. Maybe we should offer free snacks at voting facilities?

There are rumors (never confirmed) of Palin having lesbian experiences in high school. While this may draw in some lesbian voters as a guy it really won’t hurt her image in the eyes of most guys, and any of you who claim otherwise are lying or gay.

The attack by Obama’s campaign about Palin being from a small town who lacks experience is laughable. Obama is the one who lacks experience, and the attack about putting someone who lacks experience a heartbeat away from the presidency shows a stunning cognitive disconnect and ignores putting the inexperienced IN the drivers seat as Obama is asking us to do.

I guess in Obama’s world having someone inexperienced running things is OK as long as one has an experienced backup. It’s kinda’ like having the understudy take the lead role and having the star ready in the wings.

The move today by McCain is probably almost a checkmate. The base is re-energized, McCain’s donation page is loading extra slow as funds pour in to defeat the Obamessiah and his Socialist agenda and he has effectively taken the experience issue club and placed it in a lock box and only McCain has the key or the ability to use it safely.

Just when we thought this campaign could not possibly be more interesting, exciting or important along comes Palin. Her comments about the glass ceiling were brilliant, and now we can add in the destruction of the age old meme about Republicans believing women should be barefoot and pregnant. Not only do we have a woman on our VP ticket, with McCain stating he is only going to serve one term Palin is in the catbird seat to take the Presidency in 2012.

I can tell you now, she has my vote.

    When Palin smoked pot, pot smoking was LEGAL in Alaska. So it’s no different than Obama’s chain-smoking cigarette habit. Actually, it is different. She didn’t like and didn’t continue to do it while he’s been addicted for years. Not to mention the criminal act of his other drug use.
