Obama Ad: Why Is McCain Talking About My Friendship With an Unrepentant Terrorist?

Posted on August 25, 2008

Obama, for some idiotic reason, made an ad asking why John McCain is talking about the sixties and his friendship with the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers. I guess he wants everyone to continue to talk about this. I’m stuck on the joke now. What does Obama and Osama Bin Laden have in common? They both have a friend that bombed the Pentagon. Obama’s question is a stupid one. The reason we are talking about his friendship with this radical bomber is because Ayers is still “unrepentant”. The key word here is “unrepentant”. He isn’t sorry for what he did, won’t renounce it, and actually wished they had done more! This, to most Americans at least, reflects horrible character. Even though Obama gave lip service and denounced what Ayers did, he will not denounce him and remains friends with him. To have as deep a relationship as Obama has with Ayers and his horrible character is definitely poor judgement and poor character on Obama’s part. Get a clue Obama. This is why McCain is talking about it, because you remain friends with someone that hates America and stomps on the American flag for magazine covers.

Allah:

His argument is so weak that it doesn’t really qualify as an argument: Yes, we’re friendly, but it’s ancient history and I denounced what he did, so what’s the big deal about socializing with, um, an unrepentant terrorist? As for the submoronic point about Ayers’s crimes having been committed when Obama was eight — a staple of the left’s feeble defense of him on this subject — imagine what the reaction would be if Bobby Jindal, say, had struck up a chummy pen pal correspondence with Charles Manson while in his late 20s. Think the left might find that relevant to his character? Think the fact that Jindal wasn’t even born when Manson’s crimes were committed would get him off the hook? Of course not, because as even an eight-year-old can understand, the salient point isn’t how old Obama was when the crimes were committed, it’s how old he was when he formed the moral judgment that led him to associate with Ayers in the first place.

McCain camp responds:

“The fact that Barack Obama chose to launch his political career at the home of an unrepentant terrorist raises more questions about Senator Obama’s judgment than any TV ad ever could. And the fact that he’s launching his own Convention by defending his long association with a man who says he didn’t bomb enough U.S. targets tells us more about Barack Obama than any of tonight’s speeches will.” –McCain spokesman Brian Rogers

It’s pretty simple, Barack, why we are talking about it. You keep a close relationship with someone that feels no guilt in committing terrorism against the United States, while we are at war with terrorism! Obviously, your judgment and character sucks and this particular friendship you refuse to denounce is scary!

Here is a good summary of the Obama/Ayers relationship.

Update: Scared the truth will come out! Obama to DOJ: Block terrorist ad!

Sen. Barack Obama has launched an all-out effort to block a Republican billionaire’s efforts to tie him to domestic and foreign terrorists in a wave of negative television ads.

Obama’s campaign has written the Department of Justice demanding a criminal investigation of the “American Issues Project,” the vehicle through which Dallas investor Harold Simmons is financing the advertisements. The Obama campaign — and tens of thousands of supporters — also is pressuring television networks and affiliates to reject the ads. The effort has met with some success: CNN and Fox News are not airing the attacks, and some local affiliates have refused as well.

Obama has also launched his own response ad, directly addressing Simmons’ attempt to link him to domestic terror.

The project is “a knowing and willful attempt to violate the strictures of federal election law,” Obama general counsel Bob Bauer wrote to Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Keeney last week in a letter provided to Politico. Bauer argued that by advocating Obama’s defeat, the ad should be subject to the contribution limits of federal campaign law, not the anything-goes regime of issue advocacy.

Bauer’s letter called on the Justice Department to open “an investigation of the American Issues Project; its officers and directors; and its anonymous donors, whoever they may be.”

“This is a sad ploy to circumvent the First Amendment by a campaign who has no arguments with the merits of our ad. It’s the classic maneuver: If you can’t win on the merits, file a lawsuit,” said a spokesman for the American Issues Project, Christian Pinkston, who said his group’s non-profit status allowed it to participate in elections as long as it does a majority of policy work, which it plans to do.

Is this the future for Conservative free speech under Obama? Way to go Barry, now everyone will be talking about this! Way to launch the Convention!

Mc Cain has proved that he is a mean,
self centered, childish old man who thinks
he is something because he wa a POW.
That is what made him so mean and hateful.

That is why his temper is out of control.
I have to say this truth….I can’t stand
him and he was a crook at one time and got away with what he did.

The Jindal analogy is spot on. This group of thugs is trying to run the country into the ground. I think McCain will win but you better stock up on ammo just in case…

So much for Barry the Constitutional scholars understanding of the 1st Amendment, literally and figuratively.

I think that John McCain is overplaying his
stint as a POW, as if he is the ONLY one.
I think he needs to go stock up on (Depends)

I’m just smirking behind my hand. If it’s not one thing, it’s another, all of it boiling down to “Barry needs a Band-Aid for his boo-boo.”

I keep waiting for the penultimate cry uttered moments before the horns and claws are bared, the one steamrolled over me yers ago while working as a receptionist in a doctor’s office in Flint, Michigan: “You onnee be doin this cuz I be BLACK!”

Said bomb dropped in retaliation for presenting the patient with a BILL for services rendered, like I only gave bills to blacks and gave free passees to whites, reds, browns, and yellows…

Said bomb to which the physician–the one she owed money to and ALSO black–later told me I should have responded (with the same bobble-head shake, and he imitated it perfectly) “No, I onnee be doing it cuz I be WHITE,” which nearly gave me a heart attack…

He’s a whiner, and when he doesn’t get his way, he cries a little harder. That’s like a little boy on the schoolyard playground yanking the girls’ ponytails and then crying when they clobber him.

Forgive me…. I’m having one of those days.

Here is the thing Obama wants everyone to think he loves this country when in fact his own political record shows he is against everything that will help this country. The man says CHANGE when he is the one who needs to change and that my friends will never happen. They all say hope. Well Hope will not pay the bills; Hope will not help you when you are unemployed because you can’t afford to pay gas prices. Words are powerful but action is what helps pay bills, Action on drilling now to lower gas prices. And if you look at McCains record you will see how he even crossed party lines to help better this country. Obama’s record shows how he supports his liberal party and the American people last. Obama’s past shows how his judgment is a radical one. To sit in a church with his wife and young kids for over 20 years listening to racial comments and anti-America comments shows who he really is. Everything that comes out of Obama’s mouth is a lie.

Carol Anderson, were you born an idiot or do you just work at it every day? Can you explain your crook comment or does it just make you feel good about yourself thinking you know something when you really don’t?
