Obama Picks Biden for VP

Update: Very nice…Biden calls Obama naive!
So much for the text message…CNN confirms that Obama picks the arrogant Joe Biden for VP!

Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware is Barack Obama’s pick as vice presidential running mate, The Associated Press has learned.
Biden, 65, is a veteran of more than three decades in the Senate, and one of his party’s leading experts on foreign policy, an area in which polls indicate Obama needs help in his race against Republican rival John McCain.

The official who spoke did so on condition of anonymity, saying they did not want to pre-empt a text-message announcement the Obama campaign promised for Saturday morning.

What an anti-climax! Obama picks someone that could actually challenge his own arrogance! After all the build up, this is quite deflating. No wonder he made it weekend news.

If the secret service being dispatched to Biden’s residence means that he is the pick, then this will give conservatives a certain amount of ammunition after some of the comments about Barack Obama that he made during the presidential primaries, such as saying that the White House is no place for “on-the-job training”, but Biden clearly has the experience that Obama was looking for in a vice presidential running mate.

The Other McCain:

The thing is, Joe is old news. Very old news. And he’s got no executive experience. To jerk around the national press for a full week, only to deliver Joe Biden — this is a disappointment. Imagine the reactions of those poor saps getting their text messages: “WTF? Dude. Joe Biden?”

Looks like the libs like the pick.

I had a feeling it would be Biden – it makes sense from Obama’s point of view. The other folks lacked his International rep and experience. But I can’t believe Obama doesn’t feel like he’s sitting on a keg of dynamite with Biden – just hoping he doesn’t go off.

I wonder if any other journalists feel like Biden crossed the line by giving a flat denial when he presumably knew he was still under consideration.

I can’t wait for America to get to know Biden’s big mouth.

Hmmmmm…maybe the left aren’t happy with this choice.

Anyway, Obama blew the opportunity on building the media up. He should have announced it earlier. Instead, he made this weekend news. Now, who cares?
