Queen Nancy Loves That Whole Free Speech Thang

Posted on August 14, 2008

I’m wondering if folks could pitch in a few cents here or there and purchase Nancy P. this wonderful framed copy of the 1st Amendment, in light of her latest San Fran hissy fit

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blasted Sen. Joe Lieberman on Wednesday for making what she called “totally irresponsible” remarks about Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and warned that the Senate might retaliate by revoking Lieberman’s committee chairmanship.

Party above freedom. Party over speaking ones mind. Party over individuality. Why does the word Fascism come to mind?

Campaigning for Republican John McCain in York, Pa., on Tuesday, Lieberman appeared to question Obama’s patriotism when he called the election a choice “between one candidate, John McCain, who has always put his country first, worked across party lines to get things done, and one candidate that has not.”

Pelosi was asked by a caller on Owens’ show what could be done about the attacks from Lieberman, the Democrats’ 2000 vice presidential nominee who, though an independent, still caucuses with the Democrats in the Senate.

“You’re right,” Pelosi said. “Joe Lieberman has said things that are totally irresponsible when it comes to Barack Obama. Here we have a leader for the future, really a great leader for the future and one that comes along only every now and then, and they know it so they have to undermine him. And one of their best weapons, of course, is someone who is considered by some to be a Democrat.”

Interesting, considering that it was the moonbat base of the Democrat party who forced Joe to run as an Independent, and Joe was gracious enough, after beating the pants off his moonbat opponent, to continue working in Congress as a Democrat. Also, the liberal media puts any minor “used to be a Republican” on page 1A every time, using them as a weapon.

Finally, Nancy, this is politics, not war. Perhaps if you would spend that time decrying America’s real enemies, such as Al Qaeda, Iran, and others, those of us on the right wouldn’t call you part of the treason lobby. But, then, that is the way progressives see it, as a civil war against people who do not agree with their radical ideas.

If she tries to play this game, Joe could say “see ya,” making the Senate 50-50, with Darth Cheney the tie breaking vote.

Nancy does realize she doesn’t control the Senate, right? Dingy Harry best watch out, looks like Her Imperial Majesty might be trying to take over. And also managing to insult private citizens

Pelosi also chastised some of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s supporters for being “less than gracious” toward Obama, although she praised the New York senator for rallying behind the party’s nominee after a bitter primary fight.

Way to go, Nance! Stifling the free speech of private citizens.

But, Nancy, dissent is patriotic, remember?

    You are joking, right?
I mean, you do understand that the first amendment bars the government from restricting your rights to speech. It doesnt bar a party leader from taking away a chairmanship from someone. Just like it doesnt bar your employer from firing you if you call him an a**hole.

    but you knew that, right?

Anyway, where do you come off crying about a supposed violation of rights? You are the self procalimed enemy of the rights defenders!

Considering her own performance if Pelosi calls someone a leader for the future isn’t that like greasing the poll for Obama?

Actually maybe there is a bit of a slip there that she considers him not a leader now to control our destiny but a leader of the future because he is not yet ready for prime time.

You can get a free copy of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence from the Heritage Foundation. So no, I will NOT be contributing. Allowing her to wallow in her self-righteousness is kind of gratifying when it bites her in the arse.

Well, not that I like her idea, but; It is perfectly legitimate for her (by vote) to take his position away on a committee. Committee chairs are given to people who the leadership thinks will accomplish what they themselves want. The republicans could always turn around and give Leiberman a position if they chose to vote him into one.

Just remember, the Republicans had a chance to put a pork killer into a committee chair and instead chose a pork king for the position. It has really hurt my respect towards our congress. I see now that our representatives are not representative of who allows them to have power.

I really wish there were a way for Americans to all come to realize that the way things have been distorted in this government has destroyed any real link between the people and the government.

The Democrats have a real use for Lieberman now: without his vote, they don’t control the Senate. So they’re making nice with him and letting him keep his chairmanship. Just wait until January, though. If they win one more seat, it’s “off with his head”, or his committee chairmanship, anyway.

It makes me wonder why he is voting with their caucus? In fact, I’ve wondered that from the beginning of this session. What did he gain? He certainly didn’t win their respect.

True, Her Imperial Highness cannot strip Lieberman of his committee post, that said however, Harry “The Sleeping Pill” Reid can. And from what I’ve been able to witness from the both of them since taking power, they walk in lock-step. Almost like Harry “The Sleeping Pill” takes his marching orders from the Wicked Witch of the West which is funny. The Senate is supposed to be the “upper house”.

It’s true that Nancy can’t directly take away Lieberman’s position, but her now public criticism is of the nature we’ll be seeing from Reid and Schumer and probably most of the other Senate Dems in the next few months. They’ve been at least publicly respectful so far, but once his vote isn’t needed anymore, that attitude will be a thing of the past.

From what I gather cousin Joe (yes we are related on my mother’s side) might start siding with the Republicans. He’s practically one now.

Joe is very well respected in his home state and well liked too. That is why he wins his elections, there is a very small Jewish community there, but a very independent non-Jewish community in the state.

    The bottom line:

Joe Lieberman is in the Senate, Nancy Pelosi is in the House of Representatives. “…never the twain shall meet…” said Kipling about East-West. It applies here, too.

More importantly, the Democrats are almost certain to expand their majorities in both the Senate and House after November. Thus, Joe Lieberman’s influence on the one-vote Dem majority becomes a thing of the past.

Joe knows he done after this term.

He uber-liberal (i.e. labor, taxes, abortion, environmentalism, affirmative action, etc) on every BUT the Iraq War. So he’ll never win another race as a Democrat, but is doomed if he tried to win as a Republican.

The anti-Iraq War Democratic Party will wash their hands of him after November. And the Republican Party, having gotten their maximum use of Joe, will do likewise.
