		<description>The fact that the Republican Party is being seriously challenged for votes in once sure-thing states like Alaska, New Hampshire, Maine, Colorado, Montana....even Virginia (!) says a lot about the degeneration of the GOP.

If this were 1980 or 1984, would Ronald Reagan&#039;s GOP have to even CAMPAIGN in these states to win in November?

To be fair, people aren&#039;t flocking to the Democrats because they are winning a war of ideas.

But the knock on the Dems, &quot;tax-and-spend&quot;, seems a lesser evil than the suicidal GOP platform of &quot;less-tax and spend-even-more&quot;.

Could a Barack Obama have stood a reasonable chance at winning (he&#039;s now the favorite) before the Bush Era?</description>
