Westboro At It Again- To Picket Tim McLean’s Funeral

Posted on August 8, 2008

cross posted from Wake up America

For those unaware of who the Westboro Baptist “church” is, you can catch up on all the pieces about them here, but long story short, they protest at military funerals or high profile funerals holding signs that say “god hates fags” or God hates America. To them god hates just about everybody because homosexuals exist… they are twisted and sick.

Now they are planning to travel to Canada to picket at the funeral of Tim McLean, the 22 year-old that was stabbed,[gutted], decapitated and by most accounts, parts of him were eaten.

The reason stated by Westboro founder, Fred Phelps, God is punishing Canada.

“We’re trying to get you to see that your rebellion against the standards of God, your disobedience to the commandments – your idols, your false gods, your filthy ways have brought wrath upon your head.

Yesterday PETA was in the news for trying to use McLean’s death for their advertising campaigns, to which the newspaper they wanted to run them, refused.

Tim McLean’s family deserves time to mourn and these two pathetic groups need to stay out of their faces.

[Update] Reports show that border patrol will not let the members of Westboro into Canada to picket McLean’s funeral.

Canadian border guards are under orders to prevent members of a fundamentalist American church from crossing into Canada to protest at the funeral Saturday of a Winnipeg man brutally killed on a Greyhound bus last week.

Westboro Baptist Church, a controversial Kansas-based sect, intends to picket the funeral of 22-year-old Tim McLean to tell Canadians his slaying on July 30 was God’s response to Canadian policies enabling abortion, homosexuality and adultery.

“God is punishing Canada for passing laws against WBC — by exposing Canadians as cannibals and highway decapitaters,” the church says in a news release on its website, which refers to McLean as “The Headless Canadian.”

Yeah Canada!

Man these guys are nuts. Anyone ever ask them how they can think their god is powerful enough to cause things like this but at the same time so incompetent that he needs their help to get a message across? If he doesn’t like canadian laws couldn’t he just engulf Ottawa in flames rather than make some guy do something crazy on a bus in the prairies? Seems a bit arrogant for them to think they are better at getting a message across than their god is. It’s like saying he’s all powerful but needs to work on his communication skills.

I’m not real sure what ‘god’ the claim to speak for, but it sure isn’t the One I’m acquainted with.

Hmmm…with hate speech laws in place in Canada, maybe border agents will turn a blind eye…allowing the Westboro cultist in…they protest with hate speech…are arrested…brought before Canada’s hate crimes tribunal and let the buffalo chips fall where they may. I wonder if punitive damages in the form of monetary fines would be enforceable.

What God truly hates, according to Scripture, are the Westboro cultists’ unholy and unBiblical words and deeds done in His name.

The Phelps family is a fine example of inbreeding gone horribly wrong. Though most people can experience a wide range of emotions, Fred Phelps and his clan are limited to just one – hatred. What a pathetic waste of human tissue these troglodytes are.

First of all my sincere condolences go out to Tim McLean’s family over this devastating tragedy. I keep them in my thoughts and prayers and God help them through this terrible ordeal. You don’t wish this on anyone, and people can only imagine the heartache they are going through. Aside from a few blisfully ignorant bad apples, I do hope it gives the family some comfort in knowing there is a world of descent good folk out there grieving with them. We too wonder why people have the indecency to knock a family down when they are most vulnerable. Shame on that group Peta and that EVIL cult from Kansas for being absolutely despicable in showing just how low society can go when certain people turn a tragedy to benefit their sick and twisted gain. No Morals! No Scruples! No Conscience!

Sounds like these inbred morons are late for their klan meeting. What kind of cold hearted piece of (crap-you know the word I’m thinking of) would protest the funeral of an innocent man and hurt his family and friends even more than they are already hurting? My condolences to Tim McLean’s family and friends-no one should suffer as they are. No one deserves to die like that no matter what these westboro nazis think. As for these inbred pieces of garbage from the US, God will attend to you when YOUR time comes. God doesn’t like hatemongers either. As for PETA, why don’t you find something useful to do instead of exploiting a horrible crime like this for you own selfish purposes?

Christians across Canada are praying for the McClean family.
Westboro is NOT a Christian group. The only god they follow is pride. They are a hate cult who do not recognize the One True God.

    Condolences.

WESTBORO GROUP….such a fine specimen of Christians!
Heck, I’m a Christian and I do not believe that they are of my ilk.
God have mercy on their souls.

  9. Kate on August 9th, 2008 10:40 am

Honestly, I don’t think God is going to be all that merciful to such as them.

  10. Hans on August 9th, 2008 10:49 am

    Kate;
Thank you for your comment…however I do believe that God has mercy for all human souls. Regardless of how wicked they are in thought, action or being.

  11. Kate on August 9th, 2008 11:03 am

Then what is the purpose of Hell, Hans? Yes, they can be forgiven, but if what they are doing is contrary to God’s will…..

  12. Hans on August 9th, 2008 11:09 am

The only way to heaven is to acknowledge and accept Jesus Christ as your savior – had Hitler done so (and perhaps he did – that’s between he and God)he too would be in heaven. So, I guess your question is a good one “what is the purpose of Hell?

  13. Joe on August 9th, 2008 3:39 pm

Stu, you are spot on. I think it would be pretty f’ed up if God worked in that dysunctional of a way. These WBC people just love to hate.

  14. Hans on August 9th, 2008 6:05 pm

    Joe,
You are so right, these people are really f***** up!
