David Zucker to Bring Conservative Ideas to Hollywood

Can’t wait to see this one when it comes out!
Action!”
The set jumps to life. Two young men–both terrorists–enter the station. They are surprised to see a security checkpoint manned by two NYPD officers. “I’ll need to see your bag, please,” says one of the officers. The lead terrorist glances nervously at his friend and swings his backpack down from his shoulder to present it to the cops. Just as the officer pulls on the zipper, however, a small army of ACLU lawyers marches up to the policemen with a stop-search order. The cops look at each other and shrug their shoulders. “This says we can’t search their bags.”
The young men are relieved. They smile fiendishly as they walk toward the crowded platform. As the lead terrorist once again slips the backpack over his shoulder, he mutters his appreciation.
“Thank Allah for the ACLU.”
Zucker’s latest movie, An American Carol, is unlike anything that has ever come out of Hollywood. It is a frontal attack on the excesses of the American left from several prominent members of a growing class of Hollywood conservatives. Until now, conservatives in Hollywood have always been too few and too worried about a backlash to do anything serious to challenge the left-wing status quo.
David Zucker believes we are in a “new McCarthy era.” Time magazine film writer Richard Corliss recently joked that conservative films are “almost illegal in Hollywood.” Tom O’Malley, president of Vivendi Entertainment, though, dismisses claims that Hollywood is hostile to conservative ideas and suggests that conservatives simply haven’t been as interested in making movies. “How come there aren’t more socialists on Wall Street?”

Once could suggest that Batman-Dark Knight was a conservative film, where there really are evil people, and there really are good people who work to stop the evil people, despite rage an calumny by the usual suspects.
The last Harry Potter with the Ministry appointed teacher was conservative.

On the contrary, she was an example of the “Nanny-State-We-Know-What’s-Best-For-You” liberal mentality. Don’t worry about anything, there’s nothing wrong, we’ll take care of you, just do what you’re told.
I frequently have to put my Netflix account on hold because there are so few films being made that I care to watch. And neither critics nor awards have ANY influence on me anymore. Many Oscar winners of the past few years are being shown on basic cable and I still don’t want to watch them.
Brand names influence me: David Mamet, a declared FORMER liberal produces THE UNIT, a TV series I always enjoy watching. A new TV series from Jerry Bruckheimer will get my attention. Almost any program written or produced or starring a known conservative will get my attention, because there’s a basic sense of life issue involved. Clint Eastwood used to make films I enjoyed. Then, he started making films Hollywood liked and I didn’t.
It’s dangerous for Conservatives in Hollywood to declare themselves. That’s nothing new. At one time, the only conservatives who could get jobs congregated around John Ford. Sam Jaffe reputedly ran the communist cell that made certain that No conservatives got jobs at any level.
Conservatives and Libertarians should hold a film festival. Invite Mel Gibson, Jerry Bruckheimer, Bruce Willis, Kelsey Grammer, Patricia Heaton, all the well-known conservatives. Then, network like mad. If everyone comes out of the closet at once, they may find there are more of them than they thought and they can get together to work on film projects that will find favor with the American people and make money for all concerned.
Man I hope this story is true.
“How come there aren’t more socialists on Wall Street?”
Simple, to be successful on Wall Street you need to know some thing about economic. You need to know how to make good business deals. Sound economics is an anathema to socialism. On the other hand, to be an actor, all you have to do is know how to pretend you are someone you’re not and memorize lines.
