Wow! You people bashing Haitians need to read up on Haitian history. I know many Haitians and they’re all different, just like any other nationality. STOP GROUPING PEOPLE TOGETHER BASED ON SOMETHING THEY CAN’T CONTROL! So what is they’re Haitian, that doesn’t dictate their lives, how they act, or the person they’re going to be. Haiti is home to some of the bravest people on the planet (that history book would teach you that). They have been screwed over, many times, especially by the US unfortunately. If you go to any Ivy league or top school, a lot of the black people there are Haitian. They can succeed if they are given the right circumstances, and unfortunately, Haiti doesn’t have them right now. Educate yourselves and stop saying ignorant things, it will make the world a better place.

seriously, i am in south florida and despise having to deal with the haitians. i never knew i had a racial bone until i moved here and experience the animal like behavior i see every weekend when i deal with haitians. as a nation we are remiss to not control them. for god’s sake, if they are here, they need to be educated in how to act like a human being rather than an animal. and for those of you that want to critisize me. bring it. i deal with them and know first hand. it is not an igorant resposne, but an educated one – becuase i took the time to try to understand them before i pass judgement. now i pass judgement.

The last thing anywhere in the world needs is more Haitians, Haiti included. Sure there are some who are acceptable but as a whole they’re the lowest form of life aside from Gypsies and every time I’m forced to interact with one it just further confirms this fact.

I didn’t have a chance to seat and eat with Haitians. I have a life. Haiti is the least developed country in Western Hemisphere with high illiteracy and crime rate. Children are still being enslaved there. During transition to “democracy” opponents of Aristide were necklaced. I don’t think you can blame CIA for that. I wonder if Haitians invented necklacing themselves or they learned it from Winnie Mandela? Why don’t you spend some time in Haiti? It’s populated by nice, god-fearing, nonviolent people, right? Why not to move all Haitians to the United States? I would suggest settling them by the Ted Kennedy’s compound. Would you welcome white farmers from Zimbabwe to your neihgborhood? They are being brutalized overthere.

To Alex: Actually, the Haitian immigrants I know personally left Haiti because their pro-democracy organization was being killed and “disappeared” by a government come to power via CIA-assisted coup– NOT because of any inherent inferiority of the country’s people.

How many Haitians do YOU know? Sat down and ate dinner with? Or are you just repeating what people tell you?

To Daniel: Haitians you’ve met are an exeption, otherwise Haiti wouldn’be a hellhole that it is now. That’s why they left Haiti in the first place. When number of Haitians in your neighborhood will reach a critical mass your opinion will change.

Overpopulation, congestion, urban sprawl, pollution, Water shortages,
environmental damage, crime, diminishing resources, Diseases, lack of
affordable housing, depressed wages, underground economic, fraudulent
documents, identity theft, tax evasion, soaring crime rate, increased tax
burdens, overcrowded schools, uneducated children, overcrowded prisons,
inadequate health care, the balkanization of our communities and a large
and growing population with loyalty to other Nations. The overall decline
in our quality of life are the result of unrestrained illegal immigration!
America cannot accept the worlds destitute population of other countries.
Criminals, Undesirables and Uneducated people. Too many people chasing too
few resources is not sound economic, social or cultural policy. This is not
racism but pragmatism & common sense!

Every industrialized nation has taken steps to end illegal immigration and
to limit legal immigration to only that which is prudent, demonstrably
necessary, and above all other concerns, in the best interest of their
native population. Its insane to suggest that America should not do
likewise! England and Australia have adopted a points system, when it comes
to immigration. You are just not going to get a working visa, unless you
have valuable skills to offer that nation.
If we enact the SAVE ACT (H.R.4088) as an enforcement tool against illegal
foreign nationals. Then they repatriate their person by ATTRITION. After
that then we could adopt an orderly guest worker program, with no legal
right to being a citizen. However, guest workers would receive a special
preferences, but first must return to their home country. But then they
could apply for legal residence.

I have befriended and worked with several Haitian-Americans who received political asylum in the early 90s. These individuals are among the most upright, community-minded, church-going people I know– folks who don’t hesitate to help a stranger. I would gladly welcome more Haitian immigrants in my neighborhood.
