Vice President Rumors Galore

Posted on July 28, 2008

Jim Geraghty is saying a little birdy told him that McCain has picked Pawlenty for his VP. I had my hopes up for Sarah Palin, but here is someone making the case that Pawlenty is a slam dunk choice.

Ed Morrissey, one blogger’s judgment I’ve learned to trust, says Pawlenty is a good choice too.

Well, I live in Pawlenty’s state and have met him on a couple of occasions, and this pick would not make me too glum at all. Pawlenty has a good center-right track record, especially on holding the line on taxes with a hostile Legislature. He demonstrated real leadership during the bridge collapse and its aftermath, keeping the gas-tax-increase advocates at bay and convincing the rest of the state to ignore them. He’s also pro-life, and a humble but telegenic man who will inject a little vigor into the campaign.

I like Sarah Palin, too, but she’s been governor a year in a state with three electoral votes and about as much chance of going Democrat as getting a sunburn at ANWR in December. Pawlenty has a strong base of personal and political support in Minnesota and the upper Midwest, and he could change the calculus in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He also helps defend the Midwest if Obama picks Sibelius, Gephardt, or Hagel.

Plus, Pawlenty never wavered in his support for McCain even when times got tough. McCain values that kind of loyalty. It’s not a bad quality to have on the ticket.

For those who are interested, here is Tim Pawlenty on the issues.

Pawlenty is a boaring snoozer providing absoultely nothing to excite the voters towards the ticket. Nothing!!!

The moribund McCain campaign NEEDS THE PALIN ENERGY TO SURVIVE AND THRIVE!!!

So now take the following Quiz:

    1. Which McCain Veep pick is SIMULTANEOUSLY the safest AND boldest?

    ANSWER: Sarah Palin

    2. How can McCain SIMULTANEOUSLY attract both Hillary AND Bob Barr voters?

    ANSWER: Sarah Palin

    * * *

And then there’s this from the Conservative Voice:

    “Desperately seeking Sarah

    Desperately seeking Sarah
Americans need a little Palin Power

Sarah Palin the current Governor of Alaska is John McCain’s ultimate choice for VP. I do believe a woman is next in line for the presidency. All Conservatives like her. She is popular in Alaska. Hillary supporters would relish her. She would solidify a 12 or possibly 16 year Republican executive.

John McCain’s boring campaign is wearing thin. I need a little Palin Power to get me interested again. They would say ‘but she is only a half term Governor!’ And your point is?

That’s all I have to say about that!”

The Alaska State Legislature this afternoon (Mon. July 28) appointed funds for an independant investigator to look into allegations of misuse of power by Governor Palin’s office. Sorry, Ted. Sorry, Conservatives around the country. I can’t imagine Senator McCain choosing Palin to run as his V.P. while she’s embroiled in a messy investigation into potential wrongdoing in Alaska. Maybe next time around. It would be wise for all of us to choose another conservative to back as V.P.

Sue, Gimme a break! As per the palinforvp blogsite:

“A poll conducted last week by the Hays Research Group shows that Gov. Palin’s approval rating is still an astronomical 80%!

So much for the thoroughly debunked “Troopergate scandal”. That horse is dead, so we’re going to stop beating it.”

John McCain excites no one in the conservative column, so he should pick a Pawlenty or a Palin to rouse the troops.
Both of these possible candidates are known by approximately 34 voters, and half of them do not even live in their respective states.
These so called political experts who happen to have a notable blog better do a little historical research before pontificating about VP choices.

Ted, You’re a retard.. Sarah Palin is a FRAUD- She has ABUSED Power that was given to her through the office of governor (she should serve, not be served). She will be convicted of these charges and many more, it will go broad. This liar and her inept childish ring of fools have showed signs of irrational and unethical behavior.(Her husband Todd, Ivy Frye, Frank Baily, Annette Krietzer, Scott Hayworth, Joe Frickin Balash, Tom Irwin, Pat Galvin and Marty Rutherford. Get this… also many reporters from AK newspaper ADN are on the state payroll to do Sarah’s media bidding. Shut Up People about Palin as VP. My GOD could you imagine?

SYRIN- Gov. Palins biggest critic since she took office. /Internet radio & blog.

Gov. Palin could jump in a river and save a drowning baby and I believe Syrin would find a way to blast her for it.
What happened to make you hate her so much Syrin to blast her all over the internet? Did you have a boyfriend that she sent to jail for corruption or something like that? I’m just wondering since the hate you have for her seems bordering on psychotic.
Get a grip and check yourself in for your own good.
