The ACLU, Defending People’s Right to Be Stupid
Posted on July 27, 2008
The ACLU in Flint, Michigan wants the police department to stop searching people with baggy pants after the Police Chief issued an order for his officers to arrest people who wear their pants in such a way as to expose their “skivvies, boxer shorts or bare bottoms.” While I agree with the ACLU that wearing your pants in such a fashion should be allowed, I also know that the vast majority of thuggish nimrods I know who are apt to commit a crime are also the kind of goofballs that go around with their pants drooping.
If the pants in question expose butt crack the arrest should happen. I don’t want to see others butt cracks anymore than they want to see mine. It’s indecent and shouldn’t be allowed. It should also (as much as I hate to say it) apply to the girls, after all fair is fair. If we allow girls to have drooping pants showing off their crack and not the guys a discrimination case is sure to follow.
Actually if the cops were smart they’d let the pants droop, as it seems that drooping pants lead to more arrests as perps don’t get too far with their pants down low.
The whole stupid fad started in prison. What fad isn’t stupid when looked back on through the lens of time? Bell bottoms, anyone? It was adopted by hip hop “artists” and spread like a virus of stupidity to mainstream culture. Too bad things like personal responsibility and patriotism don’t spread like stupidity eh? Just shows that stupidity may really be contagious. The warning sign showing one may be susceptible to stupidity, seems to be low self esteem and a willingness to follow the crowd. With todays’ kids being raised on feel good education, where they are told they are worthwhile humans no matter how well they do anything, one can see that we have an entire generation susceptible to the stupidity virus.
Self esteem comes from accomplishments, not from cooing baby talk pounding into your head how worthwhile you may be even though you cannot read or count or even think. At the end of the day arresting people for wearing baggy pants is not the way to go.
The one tool that the police have in their arsenal they aren’t using is shame. Don’t arrest the folks that are wearing baggy pants. Stop them in a public place then point at them and laugh loudly. Get passerbys to join in. Shame is a great way to stop people from doing things not accepted by society.
Back in the good old days, when we were on top of our game as a country, shame was what kept families together and allowed parents to raise decent citizens. Women were ashamed to be a single mom, as they were looked upon in the community as sluts. Men actually raised their children, because if they didn’t they were looked upon as deadbeats and once word got around they found themselves short of people who were friendly to them. Children actually learned in school because otherwise they were held back and everybody knew they weren’t that smart.
Shame is a great motivator and we need more of it. But lacking a return of shame as motivational technique at least we have the ACLU willing to defend the vast legions of stupid sheeple who find it in their hearts to embarrass themselves in public and at the end of the day that’s the mark of a great country, right?

I hate the ACLU. This law in Flint is exactly what we need in this country. I think that the government should establish a dress code nationwide. Maybe if people dressed a little better we wouldn’t have so many problems in this country. Thank you for writing this article exposing the ACLU and their continuing attempts to destroy our once great nation.
