I sure would like to find the Americans who have had their rights violated. Why there must be millions! Yet everywhere I look there are stories of crowds demonstrating in ways that would have resulted in teeth marks on nightsticks in my youth.
I had to quit watching network news, I kept seeing people screeching about how their dissent was being silenced. Oddly, they were quite loud in their silence, on TV, yet.

I’m on board with pretty much everything you said except for this bit.

I can’t say that. I’ve been asking, every chance I get, for someone to show me some proof that John McCain is willing to put some real skin in the game on the budget. No one’s come up with anything yet. He’s talked a really big game, but I’ve not seen a McCain/Some Democrat Budget Reduction Act or anything even close.

Heck, he hasn’t even come out and told the President that if there’s a veto on a spending bill, he’ll use his vaunted Bipartisan Maverick power to put together a coalition to make it stick. Surely he could have done that once or twice, couldn’t he?

What Hunter is advocating is the exact same thing as a former friend of mine. After 30 years of friendship, we have parted ways as a result of his visceral Bush/Cheney/neocon hatred. There is no way he will ever again vote Republican as he views them as having betrayed conservative/libertarian principles. GWB entered into a voluntary war, the Republicans have screwed the pooch on the economy, and the Constitution is in a shambles. My pointing out the irrelevancies or fallacies of his assertions led to him calling me a Nazi – something one doesn’t say to a Jew without ramifications.

Obama is a saviour in the mold of JFK and Reagan. His U of Chicago economic advisors will hold him in check. That the former friend lives in the Chicago area and knows all about sleazy Chicago pols in no way diminishes his support for Obama.

I suspect this scenario of friends and family parting ways especially where the Obama supporter is afflicted with Bush Derangement Syndrome is only going to accelerate.
