The problem isn't the kids falling down, they heal pretty quick, the problem is the parents and the quick money that they think they can get by suing the schools and school district. It is a horrendous situation, that anything leading to actual exertion is being banned because of the risk to the financial stability of schools due to legal piranhas.
You wonder why kids are obese, this is primary reason, but don't worry, the lawyers are there to sue the fast food joints too.

It's not just that country. Did you hear about the school in Virginia that banned tag for the same reason? It's all about lawyers and clients treating any injury as a winning lottery ticket, and insurance companies turning a simple matter into a giant labyrinth from which only other lawyers can save you.

"Now, someone explain to me what the big deal is about a kid falling over."

*SIGH* You just don't get it.... :(

The major danger in allowing a child to fall over, is that that child may discover how to get back up on its feet - WITHOUT government program assistance! Were this undesirable outcome to become widespread throughout America, it could lead to catastrophic tearing of the fabric of our society!

No no no no... it takes a village to help that kid up, or hopefully a smarter village which won't allow the child to fall in the first place!

It's not the bumps and bruises that people fear. It's the lawyers. Liberal judges, children, lawyers and injury are ingredients of a volatile courtroom mixture.

Question: How will these over-protected kids at the John F. Kennedy Primary School respond when a bully pushes them to the ground, stomps on their glasses, and then takes their lunch money?

Oh, I forgot. I'm sure they'll file an incident report (in triplicate) with the principal's office and then request grief counseling. The school will, in turn, issue a carefully-worded statement of regret for "this unfortunate occurrence."

Sounds like a plan to me....
