Obama Flip Flops On Osama Bin Laden
Posted on July 11, 2008
If he was captured alive, then we would make a decision to bring the full weight of not only US justice but world justice down on him. And, uh, I think that I’ve said this before, that I am not a cheerleader for the death penalty … I think it has to be reserved for only the most heinous crimes, but I certainly think that plotting and engineering the death of 3,000 Americans justifies such an approach.
I LOVE this quote from Obama! If it were actually believable, it could perhaps weigh towards persuading me not to distrust him so much….however…
“What would be important would be for us to do it in a way that allows the entire world to understand the murderous acts that he’s engaged in and not to make him into a martyr, and to assure that the United States government is abiding by basic conventions that would strengthen our hand in the broader battle against terrorism,” Obama said.
Make him a martyr or not Barack? Besides…how about that Supreme Court decision to give him rights? Anyway…Hot Air also tells us this is a double flip-flop…
Obama, who has expressed reservations about capital punishment but does not oppose it, said he would support the death penalty for Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks.
“The first thing I’d support is his capture, which is something this administration has proved incapable of achieving,” Obama said. “I would then, as president, order a trial that observed international standards of due process. At that point, do I think that somebody who killed 3,000 Americans qualifies as someone who has perpetrated heinous crimes, and would qualify for the death penalty. Then yes.”
Obama…make up your freakin mind on things. If you wanna be the Prez, you can’t just put your finger to the popularity winds!

And ever notice that when the O flip/flops and someone calls him on it, it’s never his fault? It’s always “This is the same as I’ve been saying all along” or “You took my words out of context” or “I never heard him say anything controversial” or the always helpful “Can’t I just eat my waffle?” When you read his words, it’s obvious to any English-speaking person he’s changed his mind, but he tells you it’s YOUR imagination.
Obama’s supporters constantly say we are not being fair–that it is very responsible to change one’s mind. And they constantly support this by saying that McCain has changed his mind, too. However, they fail to see the difference.
Changing your mind: After evaluating your stance with the facts, you decide that your opinion is incorrect and you change your opinion.
Flip-flop: After evaluating the popular opinion, you are concerned that you may lose your reputation, and in the case of politics, your vote. In order to get more votes, you change your opinion, depending on which group you are talking to.
Now, which group is Obama in?
Trial? There is no need of a trial. Just establish identity, then usher it into Hell.
Stake him out at the bottom of an outhouse pit and have a big three day picnic.
