Canadian goons seize children because of mother’s political beliefs

Posted on July 5, 2008

We read:

“Manitoba Child and Family services was in court Monday to argue for permanent guardianship of a girl and boy, after the girl was sent to school sporting a swastika — a symbol typically associated with racially-motivated hate groups.

The children’s mother denies she has done anything wrong. “I think I’m a pretty good mother. I’ve raised my children to have pride in themselves. That’s all I’ve ever done.” she told CTV News, as she sat beneath a banner with the slogan “White Pride Worldwide.”

Child services was called to a city elementary school in March after the girl, 7, arrived at school with a Swastika, the words “Hail Victory” and “Aryan Pride” written on her arms and one leg in permanent maker. The number “14/88,” a reference to Hitler, was also written on the little girl. The 14 refers to the number of words in the slogan: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.” The 88 stands for HH and means “Heil Hitler.”

Police and officials from the department went to the family’s Winnipeg home and seized the girl’s two-year-old brother, and in the process discovered what they said was evidence of the parents’ neo-Nazi beliefs.

The mother of the children has maintained she is not a neo-Nazi, but is simply proud of her northern European background and describes herself as a “white nationalist.” She said her daughter drew the swastika on her own arm after taking part in a “white pride” racist march in Calgary. When the girl’s teacher washed the symbol off, the mother and daughter drew it on again with a marker.

The mother said drawing the swastika was stupid, but insisted the act harmed no one and her beliefs are a family matter. “It’s OK to be proud to be a native, it’s OK to preach black power,” she said, before adding, “But when you’re white and you’re proud, it’s wrong.”

Black pride is fine but white pride is to be severely punished? Where does the criminalization of political beliefs end? Speaking ill of homosexuals could cause you to lose your kids next? In Canada it would be no surprise. In the USA even the ACLU has on occasions defended the rights of neo-Nazis to express their beliefs.

The parents’ beliefs are very, very wrong; however, marker on a girl’s arm is not harming anyone else. The government overstepped their bounds in removing the children.

Sorry, “mother’s beliefs,” not “parents’ beliefs”.

Canada has made itself very busy enforcing a Stepford Lives situation.

Wow John, frankly I’m shocked to see that you are sticking up for someone who was wearing their white pride on their sleeve. I’m all in favor of anyone showing pride in their race. I think it’s Great. But we have to remember, that Canada, is much like England in their “diversty and tolerence” efforts. Bow down to your masters of multi-culturalism.

Would I be offended by this? Naaa. I’d laugh. And theres nothing wrong with their beliefs, as long as they aren’t forcing them onto people.

Watch out John, the “commentary croud” may acuse you of “anti-semitism” for sticking up for this person.

As a Jew whose family was ‘downsized’ by Hitler’s Final Solution I am obviously extremely sensitive to Swastikas & the “White Power” movement in general.

Still, as a person living in Canada, I am seeing all the laws targetted at such groups being used and abused. Our human rights commission is TOTALLY OUT TO LUNCH. The recent attempt at sanctioning Mark Steyn and McLeans was a bloody TRAVESTY! Even bloggers have been brought in front of the commissions for things commenters wrote on THEIR SITE!

It is so bad that I have absolutely come full circle on “hate crime” legislation. The bottom line is this: people have diverse and perverse beliefs. Because I value my freedom of speech I have learned (however reluctantly, you can say: “kicking and screaming”) that I must put up with certain beliefs I do not like. As I have the right to support Israeli democracy, the Islamists can say that Israel is (a democratic, pluralistic state, where Arabs can vote, run for office, have freedoms of sexuality, religion, speech, association) an “Apartheid” (I couldn’t help myself… sorry).

If I want Jew Pride, I must put up with Black Pride, White Pride, Brown Pride… I must also put up with parents that do not raise their children in a manner I would consider right. I must put up with Swastikas, with Jews-for-Jesus handing me pamphlets, with Islamic ‘Sermons in the Park’. If I can walk away from these events unscratched (if alittle PO’d) then they are fair game.

People have asked me: “bad do you draw the line at inciting hatred”… The answer is simply “OF COURSE, BUT THE CURRENT LAWS ALREADY DEAL WITH THAT”… Most modern nations have laws against death threats, calls to violence and violence itself. Does it really matter if the person kills another because they looked at them funny OR because they were the wrong color? The answer is NO NO NO!

In the past year the failure of these ‘hate laws’ has become apparent. Muslims took McLeans to court because they believed that their RIGHTS WERE BEING VIOLATE BECAUSE THE PRIVATE MAGAZINE REFUSED TO PUBLISH THEIR ARTICLE; AN ARTICLE THAT WAS TOTALLY AGAINST WHAT THE MAGAZINE STOOD FOR! You would think that such a charge would be thrown out and laughed at but there was a real risk of the magazine being convicted as the human rights and hate tribunals have very lax burdens of proof.

Whether morally, ethically, or just for plain pragmatism (i.e. the current implements did not work) I am against these “hate laws” and especially these special “hate courts”.

Sorry if I rambled, spilling directly from head to keyboard – no filters present… :-)
